Not too hot today, sun was strong, but temps. were in the mid to high 80's.
Might get some rain tomorrow. Washed the pool deck today but no other outside
work. The gardner came today and he and Geo. had to change a fence post that
rusted out, plus the regular yard work. Yard look great. George is still
mowing, but the gardner is doing the triming, edging etc. All the things Geo.
cannot do anymore. He can ride that mower with no trouble at all. Worked on my
Irish records again this afternoon. No new finds.
I know both you ladies are pretty technology smart, but there is a new genealogy
technology site on facebook that I joined today. Recommended by Lucie from the
Canadian site. I have no idea what they can teach us, or me, but thought I
would pass along the information, since it is genealogy related. It is posted
on Lucies site.

already has a temporary job lined up to work for a landscaper, until he can find
work in his field. He went to school with the owner of the landscape company
so this is a favor type thing. Daughter is happy to have the extra help she
needs from him with chores around the house, that she cannot do alone. Thank
goodness she did all her remodeling when she did a few years ago, it gives her
more room in the house (she extended her living room wall out another ten
feet)as well as finishing off her basement. They will sleep upstairs with her
and eat meals with her, but they can have private time in the downstairs living
room and watch TV while she has her own programs upstairs in her living room.
They all will need that seperate time, I am sure.

had a good storm roll through this afternoon. I went over to help one of
Geo.'s buddies from the Golf Course, install his printer. He only lives a few
blocks from us. He bought it a year ago and couldn't get it to work. He never
installed the install disk, because they told him it was wireless and all he had
to do was plug it in. (You have to understand Daniel, to realize that I knew
that was his problem) Anyway, when I finished and went out to get in the car,
the heavens opened up. Daniel walked me to the car with an unbrella, but I
still got pretty wet. Driving rain. Came home and took advantage of all that
water and towel dryed my car. Looks like I went to the car wash.

It's 98 today.  Feels like.....well I don't want to say it.  It is hot.  Supposed to be hotter tomorrow.  So, Florida is cooler than me.  Somehow that is just not fair.  Perhaps winter will come early this year.  Everything else did.

Not a lot of work to talk about.  Have been getting off-line things done.  For some reason I'm finding it hard to sit down and concentrate.  I'm going to try to get to WikiTree tonight.  But I may just get to bed early.  Not sleeping well and long hot days don't mix.

It's not that warm today, only 86 now, tomorrow we're getting to 98 though.

I've been working on the newsletter this morning, I'm all caught up for now.

I have to get back into blogging again. Maybe tomorrow.

Today is one of those days, you just like to take off your calendar. We had a
bad storm come through about an hour ago and took out two TV's and our security
camera. Not two weeks ago, we put in a new computer for the surveillance system
and just yesterday Geo. went out and purchased a $50.00 back up battery to
protect it from storms and power surges so it wouldn't cook the mother board,
which is what happened to the old system.. Well, our power is ok, so we think
that the lightening hit the cable wires and did the damage through the cable
system. Not sure yet. but my camera all say video lost but it is running.
TV on/off button keep blinking and won't shut off and the TV in the living room
says no signal. The bedroom TV is working just fine. We had the tv and the
camera computer on battery power so if we had a power failure they would not go
down in the middle of something. It is also supposed to be a surge surpressor.
I think, something did not work. Cable people will be out tomorrow morning,
Geo. is still talking to the TV people.
I am thankful, everything else in the house appears to be working just fine. I
did pull the plug on my sewing machine so that should be ok. We have insurance
with the power company, but I'm not sure that this is a power co. problem.

I don't know, will have to check the policy. I just went out to get the trash
ready for tomorrows pick up and there was a big chuck of my neighbor's oak tree
stuck, standing up in the ground next to my trash cans. Big chunk about three
feet long and four or five inches around. the lightening just split that chunk
out of her tree and hurled it must be a good sixty feet to my yard.
TV guy won't be able to make it here until thursday

It's 81 and humid now, going to 102 here today, thunderstorms this evening will cool things down to seasonal tomorrow. I think the new a/c is getting a good workout, the old one probably would have quit today.

I watered all of the pots, now I have to water the garden.

We are having a little thunder storm now, but most of it sounds in the distant
with just rain.
We checked the insurance with the power company and it appears we will be
covered. The cable guy came today and he fixed the cable, and is now
restarting the living room TV which is ok. We moved my bedroom Tv to the
computer room for Geo. His Tv is out and the Tv repair man will not be here
before thursday. The surviellance camera we half fixed. Geo. put a new card
in it and we got two cameras back. The other two he though might be the
camera, so he replaced one and still does not work. So we called the repair
man for that and he is going to call back to let us know if he can make a house
call. We gaining back little by little. I walked all around the yard today
andin my neighbors yard, and for the life of me I cannot see where that piece of
limb came from that I found in the yard. It must a flown a long way, thank
goodness it did not hit a person or a window, it would have killed them.

Going to 90 today, storms this afternoon. The air is damp right now, I have a
sweater on!

My b-i-l and probably my nephew and a couple of hubby's uncles have been
fighting a big fire this morning uptown. The LFD called on 2 other FDs.

restarting the living room TV which is ok. We moved my bedroom Tv to the

before thursday. The surviellance camera we half fixed. Geo. put a new card
in it and we got two cameras back. The other two he though might be the
camera, so he replaced one and still does not work. So we called the repair
man for that and he is going to call back to let us know if he can make a house
call. We gaining back little by little. I walked all around the yard today

up battery to protect it from storms and power surges so it wouldn't cook the
mother board, which is what happened to the old system.. Well, our power is ok,
so we think that the lightening hit the cable wires and did the damage through
the cable system. Not sure yet. but my camera all say video lost but it is
running. TV on/off button keep blinking and won't shut off and the TV in the
living room says no signal. The bedroom TV is working just fine. We had the
tv and the camera computer on battery power so if we had a power failure they
would not go down in the middle of something. It is also supposed to be a
surge surpressor. I think, something did not work. Cable people will be out
tomorrow morning, Geo. is still talking to the TV people.

Hot and humid today. No rain, first time this week we had a day without rain.
I wish we could share with the mid west that needs it so badly.
Washed the kitchen and computer room floors. I am finished with floors for a
while. Did some dusting in the computer room, but have a lot more to do in the
rest of the house. Tomorrow I expect to do the sheets and finish all the
dusting so Friday I just straighten up and have some play time. Want to do
some more looking in the Irish records before they close down the site for
freebie lookups.

It was very hot yesterday.  We got a monster storm.  Trees down, hail, wild lightening and almost 1 inch of rain.  Today, very hot.  Just got a storm, I can still hear it to the south of me.  It poured.  Good!  But it is now humid and uncomfortable but that is ok.  It has rained two days in a row!  The grass has greened up a bit.

I worked earlier on WikiTree.  I hope I get more than one day in this week.  Here is my profile.  I don't know what it looks like but you should be able to visit my ancestor pages from here:

Very good Sheri, I see where your Brock's go all the way back to Virginia.   Did they arrive in Jamestown?  A lot of work, and very detailed.   Quite a legacy.   I don't think I am ready to undertake that kind of a committment, but you can be proud of that undertaking.

Going to be sunny and hot again today. I have a few inside jobs and then the
afternoon is all mine.
Still waiting for the surviellance computer to come back from the shop, it is
sitting on the bench waiting to be worked on. The Tv repairman was supposed to
come yesterday, but they called and said they could not make it until next Tues.
They sent an email telling Geo. that the Thurs. appointment scheduled was to the
tech. to set up his appointment. What a screw up!
Hope to find more information on my Scott tree today.

We didn't get much rain yesterday, about 1/2 " all day. I had to put the sprinkler on the garden afterwards, going to low 80's today.

I couldn't believe the price of local sweet corn, twice as much as last year and they were high last year. I bought a basket of blueberries to make jam today. I'm freezing beans and broccoli from the garden today too. I have over a dozen zuchini from the last few days and I gave some to our neighbour. I'm going to have to find some recipes to use them up.  I will be pickling beets tomorrow.

Norma, you shouldn't have to pay for cable for the tvs that are out while they're out anyway. Your problems from the storm sounds like my d-i-l's mess, she still hasn't heard from her insurance whether the car will be replaced or not. I think she should get a different insurance provider for the next one.

Earline, I can't complain to the Cable people, because I had cable to the
bedroom. Just the living room and computer room were out and the living room
they came out the next day and repaired. It's the one ine the computer room
that is still out and that is the TV itself that went. It's a Samsung and
their service sucks. When Geo. called Samsung, they said they would be out
Thurs. Thurs. They called and told him the person he talked to had no right to
make an appointment, that comes from the service dept. and they just got the
order Thurs. It's an in house problem.
I remember when I used to grow zuccini - had them coming out my ears. I found
some good recipes back then for stuffed zuccini - could make a meal out of them.
Can't remember now what I stuffed them with, but one of them was sausage, but
there were other stuffings that were not as full of greasey stuff.

86 deg. now and going up to 92. Sun is extremely hot. Didn't get to work on
research yesterday as planned. The surviellance computer came back from the
shop and the camera are still not working. Worked with Geo. to try to trouble
shoot and we are nearing the end of places to fix. Called the guy that
installed the system (who is now out of business) and he stopped by to give us
ideas of where to check. He may stop by again Monday. He is as baffled as we
are. Two camera's are working just fine, but the two on the side of the house,
where we believe the lightening struck, are still out. The camera's check
good. We are not thinking we may have to re-wire the whole thing for the two
cameras, and that is one big job. One camera is out back on a tree about 75
feet from the house with the wires underground. The other has to come all
around the side and back of the house to the computer room - that one is in the
eaves, which is a little more doable. We have to get these fixed, before Geo.
drives me up a wall.

It is about 95 and feels like.....well you know.  I was outside painting my table and chairs until I could not stand it anymore.  I have a metal table, umbrella and 2 chairs.  They were looking very sad.  I am about half done.  It needs to dry before I finish it.  Otherwise I will be covered in oil based paint.  Not good.  Stinks too.  It should keep it safe for another few years, though.

May make it to WikiTree later or not.

Going to be very hot here today as well, in the mid 90's. That is very unusual
for us. I have to hang my sheets, but other then that, I will spend some time
in the pool, cooling off.
Had a Birthday luncheon in West Palm Beach yesterday with b-i-l and his spouse.
Staying home today to get the house squared away for the week-end. Mostly
dusting and think I will run my robot around the floors. They are clean, just
need the tracking in from outside removed.

Going up to 96 deg. here today, so going to get all my chores done early.
Grandson is all moved into his mothers now, he sent out several resume's and
went for an interview Wed and walked off with the job. He starts Monday, so
they are happy about that and Michelle, is looking for work also. They plan to
put jr. in day care so the two of them can work.
Our daughter says, her son has done a lot of work around the yard and inside
that needed to be done. Her house is on a big hill and the back yard is
terraced. Her dog has been digging the walls down trying to get to moles and
animals. Brandon loves doing that kind of work, so is a great help to her.

Going to be another hot one today, and do you ladies realize that August is
around the corner. They are advertising back to school sales already here in
the Fla. newspapers. The dog days of August and we already had them in July.
We are still trying to find a controller for our sprinkler system that the
lightening took out last week. Can't water the yard until we get that fixed.
Had another big boom yesterday that took our cable out for two hours.
Thankfully, no other damage noticed. We can handle the big storms, if it keeps
the Hurricane's away. (I think)!!! The drought out west is the worst I have
ever seen. I see where some people are resorting to painting their lawns green
so they look better.

More bad storms Friday.  Lots of trees and everything else blown to he**.  Power out was out around town.  Went shopping yesterday and came across many wires still down.  Had to go around trees and limbs.  Earlier in the week we had a day without internet.  It will cool off for a couple hours and then back to heat.  Getting old now.  Ready to move on to something else.

School starts August 8th here.  The grand-kids are not happy.  The oldest is a freshman.  She is nervous, but I think she'll love high school.  No uniforms which does make her happy.

Haven't gotten much else done online.  I've not felt well and have a hacky cough so I have been kicking back and going through notes when home.  I have actually found several things I need to check out, and a couple of tidbits to add to the notes section of my RM.

Another month has rolled by. I posted a long message yesterday and it seems to
have gone to Cyber space. Storms all around the country causing havoc. We
had a water funnel form from the River and ran across the land, to within
several blocks from our house. No damage to anything, mostly over land where
there were no homes.
Have to think about getting our Hurricane shutters up. Activity in the gulf and
Ocean seems to be heating up with possible week-end events.

High of 89 today, maybe some rain overnight, likely not. It looks like I'm watering the gardens again today.

Norma it looks like the storm this weekend is going towards Mexico but you never know, better be safe than sorry.

I haven't been doing any research lately, I just can't get motivated. I haven't even switched my gedcom website from Bravehost. It needed updating anyway...

High today of 94, sunny and hot, possible afternoon thunder showers.
There are three of them getting started, all of which appear to be going well
south of us here in fla. But as unpredictable as they can be, and as long as it
takes Geo. to get the shutters up, he will have to start now to get them up by
the week-end, just in case it moves our way. He can only work in short spurts.
We want to get them up anyway, so when we leave the begining of Oct. we will be
protected while we are gone. Those shutters are also a deterant for burglers.
If he can get the North side of the house and maybe the South side of the house
today, then he can work on the East side Friday and Sat. and should be able to
finish the West side on Sat. if he is lucky and not too hot. The East side has
the most windows and we like to do that and one one the West side last, so as
not to make the house too dark. We do have several clear panels that give
light, but it is not like having the full use of the windows.
We should get some more needed rain from these storms, no matter how far away
they are, which will be welcome. This is one of the longest, hottest summers
since I have lived in Fla. We just keep planting more shade trees and hope they
will grow enough to help next year.

We didn't get any of the rain we expected from the storms down South. They just
seemed to go all around us. Cloudy today like we could get rain, but none
called for. Geo. didn't work on any of the storm shutters, procrasting!!!!.
Today we have to meet his brother and sister-in-law, half way to West Palm
Beach, which is in the Vero Beach area. His computer has a virus and he has no
clue how to get rid of it. Geo. is going to swap his laptop with him so he
will have something to use, until we get his fixed. We usually meet at the
Cracker Barrel off I-95, will have lunch and then come home.

Much nicer today.  I have the windows open and it feels nice.  Yesterday was Shanis, my youngest, 34th birthday.   I may now be old.......

Nothing going on except being busy away from the computer and a head cold.  The storms all missed us.  We got a little, tiny bit of rain, but that is all.

Lot of cicada/locust noise.  Sounds more like the very end of August, the first of September.  I think we will have an early fall.  There.  That is my forecast.

Happy Birthday Shanis - is that Shani? Is her full name Shanis. Your not old
yet Sheri, my Granddaughter celebrated her 34th birthday in April, so her and
Shanis are only four months apart.
Sunny and hot, a few passing clouds, but I doubt it will drop anything here. I
still have credits to use on the Irish site, but haven't had time to work over
there lately.
Cracker Barrel was so crowded yesterday when we went to meet Geo.'s brother that
we took a rain check for lunch. Been working on his computer since yesterday
and it still has a lot of cleaning up to do. Appears he downloaded something
that gave him maleware. Ran AVG last evening and it was running so slow, that
we left it run over night. Running a little faster today, but still bogged down
with something, so a lot more cleaning to do. We have been taking turns, first
Geo. works on it for a while and then I do. Between the two of us, that thing
has had a good twenty hours of work.
No cicadas here, thank goodness.

Hot and humid, the dog days of summer are here. Heading down to Ft. Pierce/Pt.
St. Lucie today to meet Geo's brother and return his laptop all repaired and
running like a top. He had all kinds of Virus's and maleware bogging it down.
Going to stop in Vero Beach at the Outlet Mall and pick up a shower gift for my
grand niece. She is going to have a baby in Nov. Not married yet, was
supposed to get married last November but something happened and that changed,
now no marriage but a baby on the way. She is a school teacher and he is an
Emt. I wonder what she teaches her students? They bought a house together
two years ago, so I just wonder why they would not have a civil marriage for the
baby's sake and have a church wedding anytime after. I guess my generation does
not understand a lot of happenings these days.
