We are hot, not dry. Baking some banana bread, in case Grandson comes next
week. Going to start of batch of Cookies this afternoon or tomorrow.
So sorry to hear about your nephews baby Sheri. People forget that even in this
day and age, it can still happen. Was this their first? Always harder when
they don't have any at home. My sister lost her first at seven months and she
could not look at anyone's baby for a very long time. Resented me, when I had
my first the following year. I lost my second at eight months, so I guess that
evened things out for her. I was too ill to attend the funeral. I had
hemoraging and had to stay in the hospital. Geo. and my mother took care of
all the arrangements.
Sheri, I found the listing of those that are matches. They have several
different lists. If the people would list their gedcoms with their
information, I might find the match, but only a handfull have completed their
pages, so the match means absolutely nothing to me. Another list give the
Haplogs whatever and I have not studied them. Plus there are the R1,r2 and all
that crappola that I will never understand. If more people put up a gedcom, I
think I could find more matches. As it stand now, even the matches do not
reveal any names I recognize from my data.
Happy Birthday to your other grandson Earline. He is getting big.!!

It was the first.  They had the nursery all ready and were just waiting.  She went to the dr. and everything was alright.  2 days later the baby was dead.  She was 7and a half mos.  They are broken.

Good news though.  I've been so deep in it I forget there is good news.  My niece had her 6 months check, MRI full body looking for the cancer to pop back up.  This was the 3 year anniversary.  She was clean and they decided to cut her down to once a year tests.  So good news.  She graduated 2 days later, one year earlier than she would have if the cancer had not taken her for a year.  Her grad party was really a PARTY!

Daughter is having more tests but the neuro guy has said not to worry.  There are several paths we can take.  He will change her meds.  There is a possibility that the cyst can be removed!  He said there are several things we can do so I feel better and she is feeling more confident again.  Very happy about that.

My haplogroup is J2.  It is found in the middle east.  Jews, Muslims, southern Italy and southern Spain.  My Dad would have been fascinated by that.  This test is a Y-DNA (male) test.  You tested  Mitochondria (female) though, right?  I don't know if that works the same way.  Does it tell you how much of a certain ethnic group you are in?  I want to do my Mitochondria sometime. In Y-DNA the R1 haplogroup is the north Europe area I think.  You are always researching french ancestors and those would be in the R1 area, at least in Y-DNA.

Thatis the same thing that happened to my sister, She was doing just great
with her pregnancy and then all of a sudden my mother noticed she was not
getting any bigger. Asked her if she felt life, but my sister was not sure.
She went to the Doctor and he told her everything was just fine and that it was
not unusual to not get a heartbeat. Two weeks later she delivered a dead baby
at home. In her case they think it is possible that there was a gas leak in the
kitchen stove and it was not enought to over come her, but enough to kill the
baby. No one will ever know for sure. She went on to have three healty
children after that, so at this time, it is all behind her and forgotten.
Delighted to hear that your neice is in remission and holding her own, that is
really great news.
I didn't know your daughter had a cyst - I hope all goes well getting that
removed and they get her meds. adjusted.

My haploggroup is H which is europe, England, Scotland, Ireland,France etc. and
yes, it is Y-dna. I have a problem finding a live male to take the test. I
would like to talk to my nephew ( my youngest brothers eldest son) about taking
the test. My brother always said the youngest son, wasn't his, so no good match
there.

Beautiful day today, sunny warm with a nice breeze. Worked outside for an hour
or so in the shadey side of the house this morning. Came in before it got too
hot.
Not a happy camper today. Bravenet informed me that they will be closing my
"USS Kimberly" site. I can continue on in a pay site but the freebie is going
to close. I spent several hours yesterday and today, looking for somewhere to
move my site to. I need a website that also has a bulletin board. Everything
now is pretty much all blogs. I need a website that I can add pages and one
that is not done in html. I need an easy site for dummies.
I don't have time for this kind of a mess. They are going to shut me down by
the 25th of July.

Today at 1:00 I went to do the shopping.  It was 99 degrees but the heat index made it feel like 107.  Very dry.  When I came out of the store the sky opened up and I got soaked before I could load all the groceries into the car.  Soaked.  My clothes are hanging in the bathroom still drying.  Even my underwear.  Like it or not I got to play in the rain.  It was such a relief.  I didn't mind getting soaked.

Norma I am not sure what you mean by a bulletin but if you mean a forum like thing you might have to change your idea of how to communicate.

Google sites are really simple to do and free; they have a site builder so you do not need to code.  There are the google groups and you can create your site in a wiki type template which should allow for others to comment or add data. Here is a link for you to look at what features are available.  You would need a gmail account, but I love gmail so I don't think that would be a big deal.  You can look at features from the link on this page:

Shani uses this site.  It doesn't need code either.  Here is the place to look it over.  http://www.webs.com/features.htm

We'll find you something by the last of July.  Not to worry.

Thanks Sheri, I will check them both out. Most of the time, my members on the
Kimberly site do not post. They just read the information that I put out.
Once every blue moon, they will chime in and I have to have a place where they
can feel comfortable to do that. The majority are computer illiterate. I am
only a step above.
Sorry, I had to chuckle when I read how soaked you got. I know that can be
mightly uncomfortable until you could get home to change even if it did cool you
down. Been there, done that.

Thanks Sheri, I have most of the website set up on the google site, but I still
have not figured out how we are going to be able to chit chat or be able to send
them information without using a page. I cand send them messages, but they can
not reply. I haven't checked out the blogs yet, I know they have the Google+
- do you know if that can be private? I haven't checked that out yet.
Geo. went in for his procedure today, he was in the OR for two hours before they
decided that they could not repair his problem from the vein. So before they
got him out of recovery, they rescheduled him for tomorrow morning, to do the
procedure again, only this time they will insert a needle in his back and go in
from there. They did say that while they were there, they found nothing wrong
with his legs other then he has small veins. More then likely, the stent
funneled the blood to his legs at a slower rate then when he had the anuerism so
it will take time for it to grown capiliaries to handle the job. A very
tireing day and we have to go through it all over again tomorrow. However, the
radiologist says it will be short and sweet tomorrow, now that they know what is
going on and what they have to do.

Thunderstorms rolled through this afternoon for the third day, probably be
repeated tomorrow and the next day.

Norma I hope all goes well tomorrow.

I just discovered how to upload photos to the group with my phone, I have to go
to the group and use the basic uploader.I added a couple of the picnic on
Saturday. It was hot so only three of us dressed as loyalists.A few decided to
stay home because of the heat and humidity. Our founding member who is ninety
was able to make it out. Her husband was our milkman when I was a kid.

Going to be sunny and hot today again. Hard to plan many outdoor activities
when it gets up in the high 80's or 90's, no matter where you live. Get it
done in the morning hours, or forget it. Your founding member is 90? God
bless her for still going strong.
Grandson is planning to come to help Geo. with some outside jobs next week that
we have not been able to do. His job finally finished up, and he has some
unfinished work for his wife's step father that livesin Tampa, some for us and
then they are moveing back to Northern Virginia to stay with our daughter until
he gets another job. She could use his help now also, so he is filling
everyones needs while he is unmemployed. Since our daughter remodeled her
house a few years ago, she now has a completely finished basement with carpeting
etc., enlarged the living room and renovated the kitchen so she will have plenty
of room for them. (Even if we go up in Oct., we will have our own room).

they got him out of recovery, they rescheduled him for tomorrow morning, to do
the procedure again, only this time they will insert a needle in his back and go
in from there. They did say that while they were there, they found nothing
wrong with his legs other then he has small veins.

Hot.  Dry.  That is all.  Hope the heat breaks soon.  I wilt, easily.  The heat just saps me completely.  Tomorrow is the first day of summer.  Does that mean it gets worse from here on????

Norma I think you will have to do a forum, private and connect it to the site.  Or, a facebook page.  You can do a page or a group.  I think you can make a group private to invited only.  If your people are on Facebook, that would be an easy way to allow them to talk.  Might even talk more on there.  I'll look around and think about it.

Thanks Sheri, I tried to copy and paste the coding for the Bravenet message
board, thinking that might work, but there is no html coding on Google so it
wouldn't read it. Haven't had time to try anything else yet, perhaps later
today.
Earline, I love the pictures of the outing, but you cut off your face. What
water is in the background, and is that you in the group picture to the right?
Have to do my Monday ironing today and then make up the guest room bed to get
ready for Grandson. He is in Tampa now and will be heading my way sometime
after this week=end, I think. Tomorrow I will make up the bed in my sewing room
for Jr. or "little man" as they call him. I think it might be a good idea to
put my sewing things out of the way. I don't think jr. will touch them, (he is
good) but too much temptation is not good either.

Get to the place you want to add the bravenet code; then at the top there is a little < HTML >, the very last thing on the edit bar; click it.  A box will open.  Add your code to the box under the < br > and that should do it.  (I added the spaces in the codes above so the email would not pick it up as code.)

Going to be a very hot day.  I have a dr. appt. first this morning.

Thank you Sheri, I never saw the Html up there, I never deleted my page, so when
I turned that on, the message board came up. Doesn't work the way I want it to
yet, but I think I can tweek it. Appreciate the help, I looked right past the
edit line up there.

Good luck at the Doctors.

Going to 95 today, I have to pull some weeds before it gets too hot. I think I'll try putting cardboard and newspaper down as I go so they won't come back.

Norma that's Lake Erie in the background and that's me up front, I tried to hide but they caught me.
I'll post another picture of the Executive members today, it's a better picture.

85 deg. today with a nice breeze. Very humid this morning, but the breeze has
pushed off the humid air and it is pretty comfortable now.
Newspapers work great for fighting weeds, I have been saving mine for one of
Geo.'s golfing friends for his garden. I also used them in my front flower beds
under the rubberized mulch.
Those are great pictures Earline, and the outfit is real cool. You did a great
job on it.
I didn't get a chance to work on the website yesterday or today at all. Busy
making up my guest rooms for the young-uns. Today I put my serger away and the
long arm for the embroidery machine to protect them, but the rest of the stuff I
will be leaving out, the cover on the embroidery machine should take care of
that one. Planning menus for easy food while they are here so I can spend time
enjoying the little man. I am thinking about some salads and store bought bbq
ribs and maybe some pasta one night (I have sauce made,) just have to heat it
and cook the pasta.
This afternoon I scrubbed the tile in the pool (from the inside) while cooling
off so it sparkles. Those are the fun jobs I like to do!!!!

Cooler today, low '80's, nice breeze.

The graduation was last night, I'm glad it was at a nearby church where it was air conditioned, it went to 97 here yesterday. Needless to say, the cake was left in the car during the grad and the fondant was melted when we got to the restaurant for dinner. It's a good thing they got a few pictures at the house of it before it got warm.

More rain today and calling for more tomorrow. It is not a much needed rain
anymore and part of the tropical wave in the gulf.
Sorry about your cake Earline, I'm sure it tasted good despite the melting
fondant.
Worked a little on my USS Kimberly website and it is starting to take shape.
The same message board I used on the old site is now attached to the new site,
so we did not loose anything and the members are familiar with that one, so
should work just fine. I just have to find a place for the photos and a little
tweeking and it should work great. I even started to dismantle the old one.
Deleting the pages that I finished so I have an idea what is left.
Going to make a batch of Neiman Marcus cookie dough today so I can make cookies
sometime Sunday or Monday for my Grandson and family. Last week I made some
banana bread for them. It's in the freezer so they can take it with them.
Hope all went well at the Doctor's Sheri.

Hot and dry.  Same old thing.  Grass looks like straw.  I see you have a real storm heading for you, Norma.  Debby does Florida?  LOL.  Be safe.

Today is "rearrange the dust" day....yay, sort of....

Still raining on and off, more on then off. Grandson was going to come over
today from Tampa, but have not heard from him yet. I hope they were not in an
area that was hit by tornado's yesterday. I think he would be a lot safer on
this side then that side of the State, but have no idea where his f-i-l's house
is located.
Looks like Debby is going to do a lot of Florida, so far she sat pounding Panama
City in the Panhandle, spewing out across the whole state with tornadic activity
from Tampa to Daytona Beach, and she is moving back to the peninsula and latest
tracking has it going across the State through Orlando. That will bring it back
closer to us. We should not be any worse off then we have been, except for the
tornado's. They are unpredictable.
My lousy neighbor has a dead pine tree that has been standing like a zombie for
the last five years. I hope it comes down on my fence so I can sue the SOB.
Just heard from Grandson, they are leaving Tampa now and should be here in time
for dinner.

I'm glad they are safe and on the way, Norma.  I wish Debby would do southern IN.  We are so dry.  The grass is officially dead and several trees have bit the dust completely.  It is supposed to get horribly hot by the weekend.  Push her up here!  Earline usually has weather like mine, so I'm thinking she is dry and hot too.  We all need Debby!

Yes Sheri, we usually get the same weather as you, it's cool and breezy today, only going to low 70's. The lake levels are down 8". We have a lot of weeds in our yard that seem to stay nice and green so our lawn looks okay from a distance.
Maybe that's why my mom's ancestors came here from Indiana before the civil war.
Norma, I'm glad you heard from your grandson, I hope they have a nice visit, I hope it's not raining all the time.,

Be careful what you wish for - I'll gladly send the rain, but I don't think
either of you want the rest that goes with it.

Rain off and on now for several days, winds strong yesterday and this morning.
Grandson managed to get all the list of jobs done, despite the weather. He
worked in the rain a lot. GrGrandson and Grand-daughter-in-law managed to get
in the pool several times and enjoy inbetween the spurts of weather. My yard
looks great again and we should be able to maintain the lawn without the extra
jobs. One three year old is starting to wear me down. Poor eating habits,
poor sleeping habit, which is not to my way of thinking. Yesterday he managed
to sucker punch me twice after I told him no, so the third time we had a real
set to and I put him in time out until he said he was sorry. I am not his
favorite GrGrandma today. I wish the sun would come out so they could enjoy
the pool and yard more. Yesterday I made a batch of cookies and this morning I
will finish up the other batch so they can take them with them when they leave.
Not sure if that is this afternoon or tomorrow. They still have unfinished
work in Tampa. The Tropical Storm is now reduced to a Tropical Depression, so
the weather should improve each day. We are ok here, but parts of Florida are
flooded. Those are the ones that would surely love for ya'll to have some of
the rains. I see another big fire out-break in Colorado. Not good with all
the dryness.

Going to 99 today, I'll be staying inside this afternoon.

Hubby's picking up the boat this morning, still a few finishing touches before
she goes in the water, I hope the weather cools down so we can use it.

It got to 111 here today.  It is still 108 and sooooo dry.  It will be just as bad tomorrow.

Spent some time on WikiTree today.  Certainly not going out anymore than I have to.  I like WikiTree the more I work with it.

Glad I shopped yesterday!

Sheri - that is too hot for even me. Good time to stay indoors in the A/c.
I worked to get my house back in order today. I moved out of the hall bath so
the young-uns could have it to themselves so today I moved back out of George's
back to my own. Washed sheets nad starting to put things back that I moved out
of the way for Jr. He was not a good 3 year old this time, like he was at
Thanksgiving. He was constantly demanding attention, picking on me and being a
pest. Never wanted to eat at mealtime with the family and never went to bed
before 9:30. I blame the parents, but their lives have been in limbo for weeks
so I guess they were lax with jr and it is starting to show. Plus a week at
her step-fathers is not helping. They tell jr. no sweets and the father gives
it to him anyway. He spoils the boy and jr. is taking advantage. He thought
this GrGrandma was going to be a push-over for candy etc. but my rules are: "no
dinner, no rewards." I guess that may be why he picked on me. I talked to my
daughter last evening and warned her what is coming. She says, he won't get
away with it here either.

I'm pretty much back to normal, have my sewing machines back open and my
projects ready to get restarted. The computer on the surviellance camera died
this morning. We knew it was getting ready and have been coaxing is along for
the last few months. Today, the Power Company had to shut off our power so
they could install a new "smart" meter box so they can read it from the street.
After that, we could not get it booted back up, so it is in the shop being
repaired and our cameras will be down until at least Monday.
The rains are all gone, it is sunny and hot, with very little breeze. Back to
getting my work finished in the mornings and in the pool or a/c in the
afternoons.
I understand a lot of people in the North and West are really having a heat
wave, I know that is not good for either of you. Stay coolo!

It's going to the low 90's today, showering now for about another hour, thunderstorms this afternoon. At least I don't have to water the garden today.
Sheri, I hope the worst of the storms missed you yesterday, I was watching the system, it came far enough north that we saw dark clouds over the lake about 5 miles away but we got nothing.

Hubby started a new job yesterday, it's  year-round warehouse work. He seems to enjoy it so far, the warehouse is air conditioned and he won't be working in the greenhouses.

Ancestry.ca  is supposed to have free Canadian records online until July 2nd to celebrate Canada Day.

It got to 107 today.  We got big wind for maybe 15 minutes yesterday but not a drop of rain.  Just north of us got a storm and had power out.  There are still outages today in the north.  The front came through as only wind.  It blew about 50 mph and then it was gone.  No damage thankfully.

Middle grand-daughter will be 13 on Monday.  I cannot believe how fast they grow.

That was one powerful storm across the center of the country. Our daughter
finally got word to us that she is ok. No power and probably will be without
for over a week. 104 deg. in DC and her street and most of the houses look
like a War Zone, (her words). Her house is fine, but a large limb took her
power panel box off the side of the house and even though it is all connected,
it is hanging loose. She said it came through like a tornado with the loud
train sound. She grabbed her dog and a flash light and ran to the basement.
He friend Liz, has phone, so she was able to call us from her house. Liz has
well water so she is without water. All without power. They both will be
staying at our daughters house so they can take cold showers, and have running
cold water. She said the damage is so extensive in her neighborhood that she is
sure there is no way they will get power back soon. She can't find a generator
anywhere, they are sold out. Her neighbor borrowed one and gave her power for
her refrigerator for several hours, but he had to return it.All the food in her
freezer is going to go back along with the fridge. And she has her son coming
to live with her in less then two weeks with his family. Never rains but it
pours. I feel for her, and wish I could send her my generator, but she would
never get it in time to save her food.
Looking on the good side of things, they are all ok, the house is ok and could
be worse, considering what is happening in Colorado.
My day was just fine, worked outside pruning this morning and inside all
afternoon, doing little jobs - sort of puttering.
