Happy Easter all!

Beautiful weather yesterday, 73 and sunny. 48 and rain this morning, high of 61..

I made Easter dinner to-go yesterday and went to son's for dinner. Today it's the in-laws for dinner.

Sheri, I hope you don't get flooded out this week. The weather this spring is crazy. We would probably have more storms if our weather would warm up, it's been 20 or more degrees below average most every day.

Rain and storms all day after a wild night of storms.  More damage here and 2 tornado warnings.  Lake out back.  We are expecting up to 10 inches of rain through Thursday.  Severe storms until Wed.  It will only take 4 more inches to put us at the record of a couple of years ago.  That will bring the river into town.  If we get more than that I can not image and I don't think anyone else can either.  They are sandbagging in places now to try to keep the water out.

I don't know what I will do about my computer yet.  I am waiting for Monday to think about.

Happy Easter!

Just another day here - rather quiet. I did make some home made hot cross buns
this afternoon. Found the recipe in the newspaper and they turned out pretty
good. Other then that, we did some puttering with jobs that have to be done
before Geo. gets his hip replacement, because he will be of no help to me for a
very long time after that. Last week he changed the blades on the mower and
changed the oil, so I should not have any trouble running it while he is laid
up.

You can send some of that rain our way - we sure could use it.

Glug, Glug, Glug, are you two staying above water? We could use some of that
rain, we need it desperately. Supposed to rain tomorrow, but don't know how
much we will get if any.
Electricians installed my new box, the pool main installed the salt water system
and I am back in business. Painter came today about the front door and will
start painting tomorrow. I have to run errands so Geo. and I will have to
play ping pong staying at home in the morning.
No research for the past two days, but a new day is coming and by Wednesday, I
should have free time.

Sunny and hot again. Ran my errands this morning and have to go back later in
the week for my mulch. They were all out. Stopped at Jo-Ann's to pick up
some yarn and the heavens opened up, we finally got some much needed rain.
Didn't last long enough and we haven't seen it at the house yet. I got a
little wet getting to the car, but by the time I got home, it was completely
dry. This is just about a mile away, but there are still clouds coming that
may drop some on us.
Our Arks are nearly high and dry, so maybe we should sent them up North where
they can stay afloat.

The sun came out a few minutes ago.  Not a good sign for me.  If it heats up it will be a violent night again.  The paper said yesterday that it was a tornado that got us Saturday night, actually very early Sunday morning.  We have 2 more days of possible violence before we get a break of a couple of days.  So I wish the sun would hide again for a couple of days.

Nothing on my computer yet.  They say it is the HD.  We'll see.

Today is my blogoversary (started 2008) but I cannot type well on this laptop.  Thought I wanted one but it is hard to type on for any period of time.  I want my desktop back....!  I will acknowledge it though.

I don't know when I have seen so much tornado activity and with such distructive
force. For once, I hope it stays cool for your area until this weather pattern
moves on.
Tell Shani we are appreciative to her for sharing her laptop with you. Know
what you mean about typing on those keyboards. That is one of the reasons, I
report in while on vacation, but keep it short and sweet. I usually feel like
a new typist, hunting and pecking along while hitting the wrong keys - etc. Geo.
has one of those roll up keyboards he plugs into the laptop, but I have trouble
with that also.

Well, we're under a tornado watch tonight, I hope it doesn't change to a warning. The weatherman says there's been over 500 tornadoes so far this month and the average is 140. May and June are peak months!

I guess you have to be a member to see it, it told me- sorry!!!!
I think from the sound of it, I fit that bill too.

Very busy in Melbourne area this week and week-end. Final flight to the
Internation Space Station is scheduled for tomorrow. Gabby Gifford's the
Congresswoman shot in Arizona arrived this morning to see her husband off on his
final space flight. People are coming from all over the world, knowing that
this will be the end of an era. Motel, Hotels are filled to the brim,
Motorhomes, trailers etc. are parked all over the place and they are expecting
millions of watchers, along with President Obama and his family, who was not
invited to the Royal Wedding (Royal snub) so had to make it appear that he had
other pressing plans.
I have to read my instructions on how to program my TV so I don't miss the
Royal Wedding and events tomorrow a.m. I think they said it would start at
5:00 a.m. our Time and even though I may be up, I don't want to be sitting in
front of the TV at that hour. I watched Charles' Royal wedding to Camilla, his
wedding to Diana, the Queens wedding to Prince Philip and her Coronation when
she became Queen. I guess I have a facination with the Royals.

It is devastating, death toll approaching 200 from the tornadoes yesterday. I don't think there were any in Indiana, Norma.

That is one of the reasons, I report in while on vacation, but keep it short and sweet. I usually feel like a new typist, hunting and pecking along while hitting the wrong keys - etc. Geo. has one of those roll up keyboards he plugs into the laptop, but I have trouble with that also.

So I wish the sun would hide again for a couple of days.

Earline is right.  All the tornadoes were in the south.  We only got rain, thankfully.  I haven't heard about my family in the south.  I have an aunt outside Nashville and lot's of family in Alabama.  My uncle said that my Dad's birthplace was hit in AL.  All the family is in northeast AL.  The pictures are horrible.

The sky here is blue and it is not raining!  Wonderful.  I do not hear any chainsaws in the distance either!

A pleasant break from all the turmoil was to watch the Royal wedding this
morning. I taped it just in case I slept late, but was able to watch most of
it. As the couple left to go sign the papers, I left for my morning walk and
got back just in time to watch them arriving at Buckingham Palace. Kate has
beautiful taste and made a beautiful bride - they are a beautiful couple.
Having been to Westminister Abbey, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park and Trafalger
Square, it was nice to watch in familiar surroundings.
This afternoon I will be watching Endeavour make it's final lift off. They have
already said that traffic will be backed up on the main arteries after the
lift-off for up to six hours because of the crowds. The good news is that they
(the visitors) will be spending thousands of dollars which is good for Brevard's
economy. They interviewed a guy on tv last night that came all the way from
South Africa to watch the shuttle. But then, we have the President all the way
from Kenya.

I fell asleep watching AC360 report on the tornadoes but my dogs woke me up just as William and Harry were entering the Abbey, just in time to see the ceremony.

Shuttle launch is scrubbed until at least Monday for problems with a heater.
Obama is coming anyway - not sure why?

I think Norma is anxious to get April over with, lol.

42, high of 63

My oldest granddaughter is interested in fashion design so we're going to create some "Kelsey" originals this summer. She'll be 13 this month.

I chose this one for this month because Sheri likes hauntings and Pawley's
Island has many ghost stories. Pawley's Island was just one of the stops for
Blackbeard where he would hide between his raids.
Pawleys Island is a town in Georgetown County, South Carolina, United States,
and the Atlantic coast
barrier island on which the town sits.
In 1791, two years after he was elected president, George Washington toured the
Grand Strand. He passed right
down The King's Highway in the unincorporated portion off Pawleys Island to
visit the Alstons, wealthy planters
who owned several plantations in the area. Rice fields occupied the Waccamaw
River side of the neck.

The Grand Strand began to develop into a major tourist area during the early
20th century, but Pawleys was
among the last areas to be heavily developed. Cypress sided cottages on the
island gave the community one of its
monikers: arrogantly shabby. With the coming of Hurricane Hugo in 1989, some of
these cottages were swept
away and have since been replaced by more "shabbier" homes, but there is a ban
on commercial or industrial
buildings on the island with the exception of a '70s condominium complex and a
few inns which were
grandfathered in. However, some of the oldest, most classic homes have stayed,
such as Beachaven
(north end of the island), owned by William Brigham Sr., and the PCJ Weston
House, which is now the
Pelican Inn. (Just for information - The Grand Strand is the beach that
extends from North Carolina all the
way down to Georgia. Some of the most beautiful beach on the East Coast).
A local legend on the island has grown about the Gray Man. Thought to be the
original owner of the
Pelican Inn, the Gray Man is a friendly ghost who warns of impending hurricanes
and protects the resident's
houses from the storm. Serious hurricanes have struck in 1724, twice in 1752,
1822, 1911, 1954, and 1989.
As recounted in an episode of the TV series Unsolved Mysteries, several
different witnesses reported that they
had seen the Gray Man shortly before Hurricane Hugo. Among them Jim and Clara
Moore who'd been walking
the beach and saw a man dressed in gray clothing vanish before them when they
waved hello. The Moores
realized this man must have been the Gray Man when their house, The Sea Moore,
was left untouched by the
storm

Yes Earline - it has been a very bad month for weather so lets get it over with
and out of the way.
You granddaughter sounds like she has great determination - smart!! With
Grandma's help she is a shoe in to be a winner. Does she take a home economics
class in school that features sewing? I had a friend that took pattern making
after she retired. Very interesting and not near as hard as it looks.

53, Thunderstorms at the moment.

I went out yesterday and pruned my raspberries and cleaned up the flower beds and I must have stretched or twisted, it took a few minutes just to straighten up and now I can hardly move, my disk slipped again. My niece is having her bridal shower this afternoon and I don't think I'll be going now.

No I haven't - I have been concerned, but did not know about the Ohio River
raising. I know her computer is out and she has to use Shani's laptop, but at
least before she was getting out at least once in a while.
I hope her and her daughter are safe somewhere. We can only hope and pray that
she got out early.

Sorry about your back Earline, have you put ice on it. I find that if you put
ice on it right away, it keeps the swelling down, and then after that 20 minutes
of ice for swelling and 20 minutes of heat to relax the muscles. It helps, but
if the disk is out of wack, then it will only give temporary relief.
I was disappointed yesterday when the truck did not come in with my pine straw
mulch. Geo. went to the hardware store and got me enough cyprus mulch to put
around the queen palms out front, so was not a completely wasted day. We also
planted a new gardenia plant outside the computer room window.

No I'm here.  I will not get any water.  But it is raining again.  I stormed last night.  Of course.

S-I-L has been very ill.  She had to have several stints around her heart.  She will be having more in a few weeks.  Keeps my brother scared.

New HD is in and working but after that, it would not connect.  Seems the modem may be cracked?  Something to do with the new install.  If I didn't hate this thing so much I would throw mine out the window.  I should have just went for the new one, but I find I don't like Windows 7 very much.  I was trying to keep my Vista machine.  So, I am still without a computer.

I may be napping today.  I have not been getting enough sleep. The dust is calling, but I may not listen.  It is so dark I feel sleepy now.

Good to know you are ok - sorry about your sil. I hope she starts an exercise
program to help with her blockages and future blockages.
I'm not sure if they still have them now, but some of the stores were
advertising Vista for those that did not want Windows 7. Vista sure has been a
winner compared to all the other versions. You may want to ask around before
you purchase. Earline is running Windows 7 and I think she said she liked it?
Supposedely, it was a combination of Vista and Xp. I don't like change!!

Sheri, I'm glad you're staying dry.

I love Win7, it's less complicated than Vista and XP and it is easier to find files, i.e.when you have pictures in more than one location all of the files are in the Pictures folder. It has voice to text, sticky notes, snap feature, lists, and it is less cluttered and best of all it uses less power and is more stable.
Hubby is still running XP on the desktop and doesn't want to learn anything new.
