I didn't hear or feel anything and I was right here all day.  Ohio is next door to me.  You don't live that close to Wright-Pat do you?    It does have a reputation in the UFO community as a place of unusual craft.  But if you could feel it I should have too.  I an under military training all the time, never had one of those, and sonic booms are not that bad unless you are in it's direct path.  It would have been right over you and you most likely would have heard the plane or planes.  I think it is illegal to 'boom' over populated areas anyway.    Any other funny stuff going on?

I don't know that it is illegal Sheri, but with the responses from the local
community, they try to keep them happy. Most American Jets have some sort of
filter to keep the sound down. European jets are not as considerate. The
Navy's flying Angles make a terrible noice when they are putting on a show, and
for that reason they usually fly over the water, whenever possible. I know we
got some outfit at our local Airport here about three or fours years ago and
they were so loud, that the local people petitioned the Airport to get rid of
the outfit, which we found out later was a Finnish or Norweigean company. The
local people won over the noise. They were supposed to take off and go
directly over water for their training and then return to the airoport. But
evidently they has some hotshots that liked to show off and they did their
training over neighborhoods and that is what got them moved.

Earline - yes, I've heard the sonic booms and they do carry a long way,
depending on the wind direction. But, from Ohio to Ont. is stretching is a
wee bit. We don't hear it when the Space shuttle goes up, but we do get it
when it comes home - about three minutes before it lands there is a double sonic
boom that will rattle the dishes on the shelves. However, depending on the
direction of the shuttle when it breaks the sound barrier, will depend on how
loud or if I hear it at all.

Earline - could he have seen the space station????    That was supposed to be in view in certain areas of the East Coast this past week.   That is why the shuttle went up Thurs. to reach it at it's shortest route.

Sorry but the shuttle does not hover, nor is it likely that you could see any red or blue lights on it.  I could really get into this but I have to finish getting ready and get going.

Very interesting article, but makes me wonder how Earline could hear a sonic
boom all the way from Russia. Whenever I hear these kind of stories, I think
of the the sightings back over the years that have been covered up by the
Military and supposedely we are not supposed to know anything about them. I'd
be courious to know if there are really aliens out there or our Government
experimenting with secret things they don't want us to know about and how they
are spending our tax dollars.

You know I have had several sightings from childhood to a few years ago.  I think that about 80% of them are military black ops projects.  But I also think there is something out there.  If it wanted to harm us it would have already.  So I am not afraid.  But it is a curious puzzle, though.  I think we could probably get rid of the national debt if we stopped funding all black ops projects.

A lot to be said for that!!!   As tax payers, we are kept in the dark about a lot of projects that The Government does not think we need to know about.   However, I believe we have every right to know where our money is going.   Plus they are such liars.   Years ago they stole the Social Security Money and put it into a general fund, which now means they can steal from it at will.    Then they tell us that Social Security is drying up and will go away.   Duh!   they still steal from it.

My granddaughter is coming over after school to pick out the dress she wants,
whether she wants me to make it or order it. She is very slim so if it's a
fitted style I'll make it, if not she'll order it. Either way, I'm footing the
bill for her, it's her grad gift.

Norma, I remembered how to do it, I just had to screw up a few times until it
came back to me. It would help if it didn't crash and have to recover the
document, I'm going to try using the desktop today, maybe it will run smoother
with XP.

Happy February.  It is 55 outside right now and feels very spring-like.  The trees are probably gone for this year.  They are budding out.  I can only remember it doing this once before and it was not a good summer for the trees.  Scary.  I wonder what is next.  Anyway it is keeping headaches and bugs alive....:o(

I got an email from a cousin last night.  A new-ly discovered cousin.  We have our gr-gr-grandfather in common, Sam Martin.  He sent some photos of his father, Sam Jr. and one of Sam Sr. with a horse.  So exciting!  He had little information, but was able to give me some of  his family info and Sam's middle name.  Something I had searched high and low for.  So happy.

60 deg. this morning with a high of 80. Have to drive Geo. for one of his Doc.
appointments this morning and then back home to work on Genealogy. Got an
email this morning from a "cousin". He received a marriate certificate on my
GrGrandfather's sister and it listed her parents, so I now have the name and
place in Ireland that my GrGrandfather Patrick McGrath came from and his
parents. He had named one of his children John M. McGrath. In some records
it listed his middle name as Morris and in some it was Maurice. Well, it seems
that Patricks father's name was Maurice, so now I guess we can be sure that his
son John's middle name was Maurice and not Morris.
I got all that information and didn't have to do a lick of work. I like that
kind of progress. He is going to send me a copy of the marriage certificate
as soon as he gets it.

73 deg. this morning, overcast with a chance of showers. We need rain
desperately - we are back to fire watches.
Geo's. brother and sister-in-law are coming today for lunch. We are
celebrating Geo's 79th birthday.
Now that I found the father of Patrick McGrath and the town in Ireland where he
came from, I tried doing a little research yesterday to find what I could on
him, which so far is zilch. I have found more cousins in that family line, and
yet we are still poking along.

Been watching RootsTech keynotes and the twitter feed from the events.  Very exciting and interesting.  Lucky me I can do that later in the evening.

Chilly today.  Going to warm up and rain tomorrow.  The grass is really green.  It's only about 40 now.  This back and forth with the temp makes 40 fell like 0.  :o)

Got an email from another "cousin" in a different line last night.  Can't believe it!  Very excited about it all!  Been through a real dry spell lately so this is really nice.

Got to go as I am running late.....again.  I hate to be late.

I think. If I start pruning my shrubs, we are liable to get a late freeze and
kill all my plants. Damned if I do and damned if I don't.
Busy day yesterday. Geo.'s brother left his laptop with us to do some tweeking
when he was visiting on Friday. He had downloaded something tht left him with
some programs that were taking over the laptop. Geo. fixed it later Friday so
yesterday we drove half way to West Palm and met them at the Cracker Barrel in
Ft. Pierce to return it and had lunch again on big brother or as his wife says,
"the rich brother". Nice day for a drive, but a wasted day for me. I did
some research when we got back was too lazy to start any work.

23 now, high in the 30's

Superbowl Sunday, I look forward to it, it is the last football until fall, yeah!
Hubby has his pool tournament this afternoon, they're having munchies there so I'll be on my own for supper.

My granddaughter's dress is ordered, it's a short strapless dress with lace up back so it will fit better. I'm going to make a shrug for her to wear with it.

As for my wardrobe, I'm still working on it, I have my shortgown done except for the sleeve hems, I haven't decided how to do them. I have my shift done. I started my cap yesterday, it'll be finished today. I have the outer petticoat done except for the hem. I still have to make at least one more petticoat and stays, I'm making 1/2 bone stays. It would be so much more fun to make fancy gowns but I'm stuck being a loyalist refugee. I want to order some repro shoes to wear with it but for now I have some brown shoes with the right profile for now.

I was rootin for the Patriots, but no big deal. The best team won, I guess.
Glad to hear you are making progress on the wardrobe, it was a big undertaking.
Granddaughter will be the "Belle of the Ball"
I worked on my McGrath family for a while yesterday and found a little more
information on the Gabriel McGrath that my "cousin" gave to me. I think he was
probably a Nephew to my Grandmother, but not sure yet. I have found a mother
and grandmother for him, but no father and that is the person that will tell me
how he is related.

Chilly today, chance of flurries.

I don't understand some people, my son started a new job last week, training,
was told what a great job he's doing on Friday, he was even asked to help some
that were having trouble, guys that were there for a couple of weeks still
couldn't weld anything. My son's first weld passed inspection. He went to work
Monday and they said that he's laid off, the only reason they gave was that he's
"not a good fit" whatever that means. The only thing he could think of was that
he's in the labour union and there's no union there. Oh well, their loss. He's
going back to boat building but now he'll be the head welder there. A little
less pay but he'll make up the difference in overtime.

Cold here.  Harder to take when you are used to 60.  Bit of a dreary day.

My baby brother had a stroke over the weekend.  A small one.  It is scary, none the less.
Strange things going on.

Allergies are crazy bad.  This is usually a good time for me, so it is strange there too.

63 deg. with a high of 75, chance of some rain today, but now enough expected.
We need at least 5 or 6 inches of rain to bring us up to snuff.
Sorry about your brother Sheri, that is a warning to him to change his life
style and watch his medications. Younger and younger people are having heart
attacks and strokes and I think a lot of it has to do with fast food. The
ingredients are not the healtyist. Thankfully it was mild and he will be ok.
Earline - that "does not fit" terminology seems to be the word today for letting
people go. My daughter went through that last year when she started her new
job and two weeks later, she did not fit. She never understood it either,
because she is a good worker and thought she was doing a good job. She did
land a better job after that and is much happier where she is working now, but
she still had to go through the process. As long as they let you go while you
are still on, like a three month trial basis, they have the right to let you go.
They get work out of you, don't have to pay benefits and can hire another to do
the same thing for another three months for no benefits and so on and so on. I
think it is a racket. Plus they don't have to pay for unemployments benefits,
because you haven't worked there long enough to be eligible.
Sad the way work is these days, no more loyalty to workers and the same to
employers.
Two more months before the 1940 Census comes out and I am getting antsy.

Happy Birthday Sheri! I hope you have a good day.

That means it's my 3rd blogoversary too.

Hubby had a TIA about 5 years ago and was put on Plavax which he doesn't take anymore, he thinks he's invincible.

Rog was just diagnosed with a blood disease so I don't know if that is playing into this?  But he does need to change his life.  He too, seems to think he's indestructable.

Thank you for the Birthday wishes!  So far it's a fine day.

I was going to say Happy Blogoversary to you, Earline!

55 deg. this morning with a high of 74. A little more of normal temperatures
for this time of year, then the warmer temps. we've been having.
I remember when I was that age, I was just too young for the older problems.
Now, I am thankful that someone was looking over me to see that I took the
proper medications to get me this far. I take one baby asperin per day to keep
my blood thinned. Men need a stronger dose, but no matter what, they should be
taking something. Be it plavix, coumadin, the new one out pradaxa (I think
that is how it is spelled) whatever. If there is a propensity to have a
stroke, then the blood has to be kept thin enough so it will not clot.
Earline, even if he only took an asperin a day, it would help.
More bad news for Geo., more tests and waiting for outcome.

A lot of people cannot handle the Statins, which Lipitor is one of them. I
could take them in small doses, but my muscles rebelled when they kept
increasing the dose. My Doctor put me on Zetia and that one works just fine
and it is not a statin.
Asperin can also give you ulcers if you don't take them with a coating or if you
are suseptable to stomach problems. Remind him that he is not being fair to
you by not taking his med.s It effects everyone, not only him.
