Welcome to the Seattle Metalheads. SMH is a group of Western Washington metalwork and machining enthusiasts - hobby and professional. Bob Powell and Grant Erwin are the list owners, please forward suggestions using the list owner link below.
The purpose of this group is to reach a wide audience of local folks seeking peers, help, metal-related events, classes, special opportunities, etc.
This is not supposed to be a general discussion group - many folks are here because of the promise of low traffic. (We'll see where this goes.)
This is not a club, but many of us like to meet face-to-face. Do you have an interesting shop or place of business? Would you like to invite some folks over for an afternoon??
Posting guidelines (for the moment):
OK:
- Announcements of unique local events.
- Seeking local help, peers, networking.
- FS or WTB ads for *local* machine tools.
- Overlap with blacksmithing, live steam, woodworking ???
Not OK:
- FS ads for easily shipped or non-local items.
- Discussion not specific to western WA.
- Namecalling, flame wars, or any impolite behavior
If you are reading this and considering joining, when you do join and are asked to describe your interest, please include your physical location. This is a metalworking club, a physical entity located in Western Washington State, although we do have a few members from Oregon and even one or two from California who snuck in under the radar. :-)
Do you have something for the group? Post it! Or, upload to the Files or Photos area.
Are you new to the group? Please consider posting an introduction.
Are you a hobbiest just getting started? See the links page for some essential portals.
Looking for local sources? Besides posting here, try the Seattle Directory on the links page.
Have something for the directory? Please email it to the list owner.
Do you know of another local metal group or interested individual? Ask them to sign up
