Primary Responsibilities
• Create efficient, imaginative and sophisticated solutions for front-end
software feature requests.
• Develop high-quality code following established development processes.
• Provide informed, innovative recommendations regarding the use of
JSP/HTML/CSS/DHTML and Flash to meet a variety of business needs.
• Take static Flash files from graphic designers and reconstruct as needed to
work with dynamic data.
• Function as liaison between graphic design and software development teams to
ensure accurate implementation of specified design and functionality.
• Assess the technical feasibility of proposed functional designs.
• Evaluate workflow diagrams and initial mock-ups; make technology
recommendations that support optimal construction, maintenance and performance.
• Estimate the time needed to complete development phase of projects.
• Keep abreast of the latest developments in Internet technologies.
Required Skills
• A college degree or equivalent experience.
• 3-6 years of web development experience in a software development environment,
interactive agency, design firm or Web-publishing environment.
• Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written and verbal).
• Expert-level chops hand-coding HTML 3.2 and up.
• Advanced proficiency with cross-browser/platform CSS, DHTML and JavaScript.
• Experience using JavaScript libraries like jQuery, Dojo Toolkit or
script.aculo.us.
• Familiarity with JSP or related technology (ASP or PHP) and some knowledge of
Java.
• Familiarity with Apache Struts or similar MVC framework.
• Intermediate-level Flash and ActionScript.
• Basic Photoshop skills.
• Working knowledge of version control systems (Perforce experience is
preferred).
• Can work in a structured development environment with build and configuration
management tools.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently.
