This Moderated Announcement List promotes Argentine Tango, it's music & culture in SE Iowa. It is not set up as a "conversation list."

We announce local practicas, milongas, & workshops. Iowa City Tango Club holds Practica on Tuesday evenings, & a club-sponsored Milonga on the 1st Saturday night of each month, both at the IC Sr.Center. There is a privately-sponsored Milonga in IC on the 3rd Saturday at Wesley Center. The 2nd Saturday now has a Milonga in Cedar Rapids at "Gatherings" Restaurant "Milonga Buenos Aires Style", hosted by "Tango in the Corridor." The revived Fairfield Tango Community hosts lessons & practica Sunday afternoons at Morningstar Ballroom, and a new milonga on the 4th Friday of the month (starts Nov.26, 2011).

All these events are open to the public, whether or not you dance tango.

Periodically, guest instructors come to Iowa City to teach us!

We also announce workshops & festivals hosted by our tango friends in Iowa, Ill., Minn., Wisc., Missouri, and a very few select National events. We'll try to answer any questions relating to upcoming events.

We'll also use this space to send occasional Tango news. All other postings will be deleted without comment.

All in all, a friendly group dedicated to keeping Southeast Iowa tango dancers thinking "LET'S TANGO NOW" !!!
