This group is for former students and staff as well as those currently associated with the South Dakota School For The Blind And Visually Impaired to stay in touch with each other. Parents of former or current students are also welcome to join. Students and parents participating in the Outreach Program are also welcome.Let us share what is going on in our life today, our school experiences, and anything else that might help another member of this group. We will be allowing attachments so that those not having internet access may still share with this group. Most of the audio files will be in wav format and are fairly easy to access with any windows program. If assitance is needed to access those messages one of the moderators will be glad to assist. Come and share your good memories and your not so good ones. It would be great if we could say that everything that happened to us while in school was wonderful. That is not reality and we don't need to pretend that it is. We do not need to exclusively discuss our experiences at the residential school since many people will have or are attending public schools. There are pros and cons to both enviroments and experiences that one person shares may be helpful to another. There will be no bashing, fault finding of each other, or sexually oriented material allowed in this group. It will therefore be friendly and suitable for all ages. It is an open post group which means chat of all types is welcome. Jokes, recipes, inspirationals etc. may be posted. Attachments will be allowed so it is recommended that people have an antivirus program on their computer. If someone does not have the money to purchase such a program there are some which are free and work fairly well.
