...and now for something different...Scrum for wedding planning   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #19491 of 42792 |
With my wedding looming and things spiralling out of control, I had to
do something quick to get this 'ball back in play'.

I called my beloved and did a scrum quickstart - lasted all of 15
minutes - she got it right off (anything to get my brain focused on
the wedding was alright by her!!).

She was the product owner and I was the Scrum master - we were the team.

Out came the post-its, we did a quick list of all that was outstanding
and voted on priority, we then collectively picked what was going into
our sprint (which BTW was gonna last 3 days).

For our first sprint, in went the music planning and the usher letter,
the invite for the summer boogie. With those post-its on the 'In-Play'
column on the whiteboard, off we went!

We are 3 sprints into our wedding scrum and I can truely say it works
for weddings. My product owner is happy and the team enjoys working
together. We pair program all night, though the daily scrum seems to
extend into hours and includes the state of the laundry!

Any more novel implementations you can add....?
