Hi,

With all the discussion of Bathfield, I thought I'd ask. I have been
unable to determine the origins of the name Bathrick. Has anyone come
across the name in their research? Is it Scottish?

Hi

I have looked at the Marriage entry for James Hosier and Emma Bathfield
who was the widow of James B Schaw. That entry shows her father was William
Henry Bathfield and her mother was named Elizabeth but no maiden name is
recorded on the entry.

The entry confirms that Emma was a widow and shows she married as Emma
Schaw. James Hosie was aged 51 and the Manager of Forth Iron Works and resided
in Dunfermline. Emma was aged 45 and resided at Headswood Cottage, Denny
where the marriage took place after Banns according to the Forms of the
Church of Scotland. The marriage took place on 29th July 1862 and was
registered
at Denny on 30th July 1862

The record for Emma's death shows she died 5 Caulton Terrace, Maryhill,
Glasgow and both of her parents were deceased. However, only her father's
surname is stated and only her mother's given name.

I am unrelated BUT the address is near that of my wife's
ancestry. Her maiden name MARY LOUISE FERGUSON bn Sydney
NSW 1934.

Mary and I visited family addresses in Govan, when visiting
in 1990. The relevant streets were 15 Glebe Buildings Govan,
134 Harmony Rd Govan and
6 Carmichael St Govan. Mary's immigrant family settled in VIC.

Hi,
I have a lot of Scottish ancestors but was unable to find very much info on
Ancestry.
I found birth, marriage and death certificates on the Scotland's People site.
You can also find wills and census' but this is a pay site. you have to buy
credits.
Have you tried Free Reg, Free Cens (census) or Family Search? Sometimes you can
find something on these sites.
Good luck hunting,
Lesa
