This group is for people who were traumatized by teachers and/or the school system in general, as well as for their loved ones (especially parents).
The most widely recognized form of school-related trauma is bullying. Bullied people are welcome here, but the main focus of this group is intended to be problems with teachers rather than fellow students.
Generally, school trauma is caused by a person (usually, but not always, a child) not fitting the teacher's standards for an acceptable person. As a result, the teacher tries to change the child into someone who does fit that standard, or treats them badly for not fitting the standard. Clearly, discrimination is central to school-trauma, especially ableism.
Because any attempt to teach a developmentally disabled person is often portrayed as 'therapy', the definition of teacher includes therapists who are involved in educating disabled people. The same problems can occur, but since therapist-teachers may work with children who are not yet school-age, the effect can be more severe.
I especially want to focus on emotional abuse. The importance of looking at emotional abuse by teachers is that there are many people who experienced emotional abuse without other forms of abuse, and their pain must be recognized. Also, emotional abuse leaves more lasting wounds than bruises or cuts, yet is harder to define.
Note: Some teachers who traumatize their students are well-meaning. Many teachers in the Indian Residential Schools cared about their students. Good intentions does not mean you can't hurt someone.

Hey teacher leave us kids alone

All in all you're just another brick in the wall'
