Yeah, me too. Who is impacted most by this. Patrons, cast,
merchants? Facts please. I've not heard anything about any
so-called protest, but I am, admittedly, not as 'plugged in'
to the local rennie crowd as others here are.

Since I joined, I had been having some difficulty seeing the
messages here (I don't opt-in for the email. Just clutters my
already cluttered box and I just prefer to read and post on site
here). Thank you William for straightening that out for me.

Greetings to all!! I look forward to getting out to the faire at least
a few times this year. Yes, I'm one of those sad pathetic people
who doesn't go every weekend. ;)

I can relate! Thats why I am doing this, hanging out on the web.
I just finished feeding the kids and I am back online already.
Remember, all us anxious ones, that the promo at Grapevine Mills is
tomorrow (Sat. April 5th) from 10am until 7pm and it is free. This
years cast is supposed to be the largest ever and I wonder what it
will look like with over a hundered garbed personalities converging
at a mall. Should be loads of fun with the "danes".
Other pre-faire topics I am chasing is "Faire Traditions" and "new
booths and sites at Scarborough for 2003". Does anyone know of any
such? Any information will be posted in the blog at
http://thenewfrontier.blogspot.com/ .
On another note there appears to be "rumor" started in a post
originally by From: "Larry" <email address>

Subject: "Protesting Scarborough Faire this year...

I have searched the AFR and other groups and found nothing of such.
I have seen though that over the years there have been
several "boycotts" at various faires. One in particular was in 1996
when it was rumored that the crafts director had banned sale
of "pagan items" (ie. pentagrams, unicorns, etc., the aforementioned
craft director personally responded to to the allegations and stated
there was in fact NOT a ban. This went un-noticed by the posters and
over the thread they went on to say they would be attending Hawkwood.
I was amused by this as over the history of the Hawkwood Faire there
were numerous "boycotts" that plagued that faire.
I am sending the originator of this post a message off group for
more information, I am hoping he will post again here, I admit to
over-reacting and initially pulling the message instead of like most
things in life just letting it run it's course. Expect I'll be
writing more about this in the blog tonight.

There are now 18 members in the group.

  I updated the blog ( http://thenewfrontier.blogspot.com/ ) with some
of the links to Scarborough Specific web pages and also posted the
first details I have found regarding Scarborough Traditions. If
anyone knows about such traditions please pass them along and share
them with the group. I hope everyone is enjoying the blog.
I noticed that we have Chaos members with us now as well as The Moor
of Dundee. A hearty "Huzzah" and "Well Met" to you.

One member posted saying he was having difficulty viewing previous
messages here. I tried some tests but could not duplicate the
problem. Is anyone else having this problem?

In case anyone else has trouble please let me know. I can be reached

Updated the blog (web log) at http://thenewfrontier.blogspot.com/ If
you have visited it, you might need to refresh or reload the page to
prevent only seeing a cached page. I included some articles regarding
Faire Terms (BFA) and a fun article regarding The Scarborough Ghost.
I hope you find it a good read.
There are now 7 members in this group; Welcome. I began posting
about this group on the AFR and the various Yahoo groups asking if
there had been any internet resources set up for the 2003 Scarborough
Faire season. Last fall Rengeek and others did a supreme job
organizing the invasions and events of TRF 2002. It is my hope that
this space will provide similar success in offering a web based
resource for visitors and participants alike to share, organize, and
expand our enjoyment of the 2003 faire.
Without trying to spam the news group and message groups with cross
postings, I have been promoting this project slowly. If anyone
reading this knows of someone who might find it useful please pass
along the directions to this site. If you know of information please
post and use the various web based resources (ie. files, photos,
links, etc.) that the Yahoo service provides. Any advice anyone can
offer on how to make this experience richer is greatly appreciated.
There is a folder added to the the Links for Yahoo Faire Related
Group links. I will continue to add links as I find them. Everyone
should have access to this feature (adding links). If you have
problems let me know and I'll try to help.

Enjoy!

PS...
In case you missed this; There will be a Scarborough Promo with all
cast present at the Gravine Mills Mall in Grapevine TX FREE all day
(from 10am-7am) Saturday April 5th. If anyone gets photos please pass
them along and a review would be wonderful; I would love to post both
here. I doubt I can attend as I must be in Waxahachie for Orientation
but maybe...

Scarborough Faire's 23rd season. The faire opens April 12th and runs
through June 1st, 2003 in Waxahachie Tx. In this group you can
discuss invasion plans, post links to personal pages related to
Scarborough Faire, and use all of the features Yahoo groups offer to
share in this season.
Enjoy!
