When you apply to join, we send an email (asking a couple of questions) to the address you've used to join (most likely a Yahoo one if you've just got a new Yahoo ID). Please check that email - if we don't get your reply to our questions your application will be denied. Join requests are processed once a day.

Registered Charities operating specifically within and for the benefit of this group's area also welcome (please give your registration number). We like to 'keep it local' (which reduces carbon footprints), so the group is open to anyone living in Scarborough Borough Council's area who wants to "recycle" something rather than throw it away. (Broadly speaking, the group covers from Speeton in the south to Scaling Dam in the north and Snainton in the west and includes the towns of Filey, Scarborough and Whitby plus the villages.

One main rule: everything must be free, legal, appropriate for all ages and, in the spirit of Freecycle, keep something out of landfill. The group is not here to fulfill members wishlists or provide an endless free supply of stuff to sell on ebay, at car boots etc. If you intend to re-sell, you must state this in your post.
