Welcome to the Scappoose Bay Paddling Association website.

This is where you can communicate with other SBPA members by e-mail to announce and discuss kayaking activities. We have also provided a calendar of events, as well as some information and links that may be of interest to our members.

SBPA is a social group of paddlers from Oregon and Washington who enjoy recreational and touring kayaks. We have no club dues and no elected officers. We offer no guided trips or formal classes, however members may use the website to broadcast paddles they are planning or trip reports of past adventures. Paddling-related equipment may be offered for sale and events related to paddling may be posted in good taste. Use the email address at the bottom of the page for an invitation to join the SBPA Yahoo Group. Please include your name and hometown when you sign up. THIS IS A REQUIREMENT FOR CONTINUED MEMBERSHIP IN SBPA YAHOO GROUP. Then feel free to use the SBPA Yahoo Group to introduce yourself, ask questions or organize paddling trips.

We sincerely request that members participate in helping to make this a bulletin board that we can all enjoy. Step up and organize, or assist in organizing a group paddle. Send the particulars to the website for inclusion on the site calendar, or send a message to all the members if time is short. Feel free to invite the members to a paddling-related event. Related discussions in good taste are encouraged!

And finally - become a safe paddler. You are responsible for preparing properly for the paddles that you learn about here. Come prepared for the air and water temperatures, as well as other possible conditions. Get proper training, research kayaking information, and ask questions.
