I have just received approval from National Audubon to start a Christmas Bird
Count circle in Carpinteria, a 15 mi. diameter circle centered at Latitude:
34.438889,Longitude: -119.491667, just a bit NW of Snowball Mountain. The
circle includes Carpinteria Salt Marsh, Carp.State Beach & off-shore, Rincon,
west to Romereo Canyon (Summerland), north to Old Man Mountain (and includes
Jameson Lake), east to White Ledge Peak and stops just short of Lake Casitas.

The Count will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2009.

We hope that this inaugural effort will be a big success and to that end invite
all interested birders to take part.
