Topics may include rare bird sightings, early and late migration dates, status, distribution and ID issues. Brief announcements of upcoming meetings, hikes and pelagic trips are also permitted. Wood Ducks at Santa Ynez River x Buellton, 2012-05-28

White-Headed Woodpecker Figueroa
Sunday (5/27/12) I observed a female White-Headed Woodpecker just below the peak of Figueroa Mountain hanging out around and consistently returning to a cavity

Barn Swallows breeding in Santa Ynez, Bonaparte's Gull at Cachuma
I did a bird survey today from W of Armour Ranch Rd to Santa Ynez city.  Not much to report on grassland birds, but Horned Larks were in 3 of 12 stops.
