Hi, just a quick update:
Shell moved back into Glengad yesterday morning and are re-establishing the 2008- 2009 compound in order to build a landfall valve installation for the onshore pipeline.
The Gardaí have been working with IRMS to clear roads for Shell traffic.

Resistance continues
On Tuesday mornings between 8am and 10am the local protest at Ballinaboy continues to show opposition and regularly holds up haulage. Also, on Saturday a group of 30 people including visiting members from the occupy camps shut down the Aghoos compound for the day.

Current stage of the Corrib Gas Project
The current work is part of the onshore pipeline section from Glengad beach to the refinery at Ballinaboy. It is land based requiring an estimated 50,000 truck movements to complete – it can and is being blocked & delayed at many points along the haulage route. Overall the Corrib Gas project is 11 years behind schedule, with Shell only recently admitting that they are a year behind even last year’s forecast.
How to get involved
If you can, come up to the Day of Solidarity organised for Friday the 17th of February & stay for the weekend if possible. Direct action has been critical tactic in the campaign so far and it looks like that will continue. Many of the regular campaigners will be tied up in a special sitting of Belmullet court from the 20th-25th February, so this would also be a good time to visit and support or help block Shell work.
The camp website is temporarily down - but you can contact us for more info directions, accommodation and what to bring etc on:

There are lots of other ways to get involved – just coming up to visit the area and seeing for yourself what is going on is a great place to start. If you could organise a fundraiser and/or talk in your area local campaigners are always willing to travel to speak.
Spread the word
Help keep the world informed about what is going on and keep Corrib in the news and political domain. All the best,
