supposed talk by N. Dempsey tomorrow night. Muireann.)

Hello,
I went into the Library to check on tomorrow night to find out that it
is a book launch. The author is Anthony Halton, who originally came from
this area. The title of the book is 'Where Toll Roads Meet', and it is
about his research into the old Dublin to Navan routes, and he believes
that where the old road and the M3 cross is near the back entrance to
Dalgan.
Tony does not approve of the M3 and laments the disappearance of our
past. I have no idea why he asked Noel Dempsey to open the launch.
So for Tony's sake, and also for my much loved local Library, I hope
the launch goes OK, however much we blame Dempsey.
So sorry all, I do not think it an appropriate occasion to tackle Mr. D.
The important person is the author, and he does not deserve his launch
to be spoiled just because he asked Dempsey to open it.
Other than in the most skilful, polite and reasonable use of a question
or two.
Can you please tell anyone you know who is coming what the occasion is,
and ask them to bear in mind the author, who is a good guy, and the
Library which is a terrific public service.
