Description
Saving the World on $30 A Day is a group for nonprofit organizers and activists to share information on effective techniques for fundraising, media and communications communications, leveraging volunteers and using technology.
The purpose of the group is not to push any particular issue, platform, or organization, and activists of all stripes and political persuasions are welcome. What we hope is that you will find this a resource for those of you who are running or part of small organizations who want to learn more about how to be more effective.
Moderated by 15-year activist Charles Sheehan-Miles, former executive director of Veterans for Common Sense.
Share you experience:
What works for you?
What doesn't work?
How to organize in your community.
How to effectively change policy in Washington?
How to make the most of limited resources!
List rules:
1. This isn't a place to post about the issue you are working on, or to forward news articles (unless the news article applies to broader issues of how to be an effective organizer).
2. Discussion is focused not on the specific issue, but how we can be more effective as activists.
3. We're here to share information and learn. No flames, partisan attacks on each other, or general roughhousing.
