Assaalmu alaikum,
Here is an email I received from NUUN Labs. They develop Java
Arabization tools. They are interested in helping us (and possibly
participating in Gitex). Check their site and let's know if their
products can help us.

Up to now it looks "free", I hope. We have not discussed all

Here are some comments:
- The navigation sidebar has some wrong links, some of them
point to scs.org.sa
* Home should point back to www.linux.org.sa
* Others which are nor ready should give
"Under construction" message, not "Not found"
- The four main points (General Information,
Why Linux is grate, ...) are repeated.
- I think, the introduction part should contain the
some thing about Saudi Computer Society and
the Open Source Group.
-> If you allow me, I would suggest that
Dr. Khalid draft this introduction part
and send it to the group.
- Would be good if the web page put some information
about OSS meetings and the upcoming participation
on the KSU exhibition. And announce that there will
be FREE CDs distributed on the exhibition.
Yesterday I visited linux4arab.com. It is a good site.
Do we have to compete with it or what? To me they provide
the information that I think we want to disseminate. I think
we have to define our objectives (e.g., what type of infromation
and services that we want to provide on our Linux web site).

About the Arabic instructions, it was good but too short and not in

any instruction on the system configuration (VGA , Mouse ,, ), in other
word , It needs some improvement.

Assalamu alaikum,
I checked the site this morning and it gave an error message (saying
that you have no permissions to access / or something like this.). I
checked it again from a different place now, and it is working.
Anyway, the first page is great. I followed some links. I suggest that
instead of using some material from other sites, we just put a link to
the other site. For example, the page about why linux is great seems to
be from another site (as indicated by the notice at the end).
Anyway, Let's here what you all think. Please check the site and send
your comments to the whole list. Thanks.

Salaam Brothers,
A sample website for linux has been created at
http://www.scs.org.sa/linux
Please note that most of the links will not work.
They are meant to be place holders and to attract
discussion on what topics need to go on the
left or right.
Critical comments, suggestions welcome.
