Hello, again, from Sangi-Land. It's time for the News at Night.

The fellow who lived upstairs moved out and just left his cat to roam
in the hallways. Of course, I have to take pity on the poor thing,
and bring him in until I can get him to a no-kill cat shelter where
he can be adopted. Lucky me, they have a waiting list, and it might
be 3 weeks, or 2 months. 'Til then, my cats and I are doing our best
to put up with the guest kitty. He's a friendly enough kitty, but
he's not been neutered, and he has "meowling fits" at times, driving
me nuts. Plus, he and my other cats are at odds about territory...

book to read. It delves into the scientific possibilities of how

Lady Absynthe Night is starting up a support for fellow vampires and
otherkin. There are so many others there who are awakened and don't

Southeastern Vampire Gathering

There will be a Gathering for vampires, donors and the curious in
Marietta, Ga. for the dates of Friday, June 13 through Sunday, June
15th, beginning at 10:00 am. The initial meeting will be at the
square in Marietta and move to different location to ensure privacy
and security. The Gathering is an opportunity for vampires in the
southeastern United States to come together for food, fun, forums and
of course...blood. The Gathering will include forums on Feeding
Safety, Psy/Psy Feeding and Shielding, Q&A and other topics T.B.A.
Specific details will be released on private e-mail only for security
reasons, so for questions or RSVP, contact Stefan at

- Encoded contributors' email addresses with Unicode on the
Contibutors Credits Page, Problems Vampires Have, and other pages in
order to thwart any evil spambots from collecting their email
addresses. The email links still appear normally in the web browser,
and are clickable to send emails, but are unreadable to spambot
spiders. I will be working on encoding other email addresses found
on other pages and sections of my site as soon as possible. Did I
mention that I advocate the death penalty for spammers?

- Added a new Q&A "What are the different types/species of vampires?"
to The FAQs at http://www.sanguinarius.org/faqs/index.php

Vampiric Community Calendar ( http://www.sanguinarius.org/calendar/ )

- Downgraded the Calendar to an earlier version. Users were unable
to successfully log in since I moved to the new server I'm on due to
it's running a less-than current version of PHP.

- Users can now log in, but are currently not able to successfully
post events. I know what the problem is, and I will be working to
fix it as soon as I can get the information on how to. I will let
you know when the calendar is fixed and fully functional once more.

- I'm just going to find a different domain host. I know I said that
before, and the one I'm on now I THOUGHT was acceptable, but they
didn't tell me that they did not run the current version of PHP, and
that they would refuse to upgrade to the current version, when I
signed up; they made it sound like they would be willing to, so I
went ahead and signed up with them. The next host I move to, will be
100% acceptable, with 0% problems or incompatibilities BEFORE I move
to them. All the time I am being forced to spend to try and make
things work that SHOULD work in the first place is just not worth it.

Dal.net is occasionally working. It's still having netsplits and lag
and such, but at least it is up sometimes. I recommend using this
command to join a particular server: /server mesra.kl.my.dal.net 6667

If you still cannot connect, feel free to join #Sanguinarius being
mirrored on the ForeverChat Network. In your IRC client program,
type this command to get on: /server irc.foreverchat.net

Once you're connected to either irc.dal.net or irc.foreverchat.net,
type: /join #Sanguinarius

Or, just log in from the bottom of any page on the main
Sanguinarius.org site.

The Vampiric Community Message & Support Board (

- The VCMB currently has 880 registered members!

- Upgraded the board script to the current version, and reinstalled
the board's addons and modifications. This may not sound like a big
job, but it was.

- Since the board upgrade, a number of people seem to be having some
problems posting. They recieve an "invalid session" message. I am
currently working on trying to figure out the problem and getting it
remedied. I believe that it may have something to do with my still
using the SpacePilot 3K templates which were designed for the
previous version of the board. Also, it seems that the memebrs
having the problems are using AOL more often than not. If you
recieve the "invalid session" message, try again to post your
message; it usually works the second time around, other members
report.

- Installed a Links section where members can add links to the
board. The "Links" link is in the navigation menu at the top.

- More features and functionality on the way, so stay tuned.

- Deleted a number of old accounts which had never been activated.
If you had signed up to be a member of the board some time ago, but
never received confirmation to activate your account, please go back
to the board and sign up again. Late last year, the server and board
had some problems which may have resulted in some people never having
their accounts activated; there was no way to distinguish these from
truly "dead" non-activated accounts and some legit ones may have been
inadvertently deleted, when I was pruning them.

- I forgot to mention last issue: I got rid of the java applet I was
using for the News Box on the main page and replaced it with a simple
I-Frame and text file. This is quicker, less bulky and easier to
update the information.
