Greetings from Sanguinarius!
Well, I started out by intending to move my message boards onto the
sanguinarius.org domain rather than using the free, remotely hosted
forums (which have gotten obnoxious in their use of popup
advertisments and commercial "messages" buried within the threads of
discussion -- traditionally, this sort of thing is called "spam"). I
found a good script to use and installed it and have gotten quite a
lot of customization and tweaking done to make it more usable and
interesting. There are no annoying ad windows that pop up and
accumulate as you view the discussions going on.
Another one of its benefits is the ability to control trolls and keep
them from running rampant and destroying all the real messages.
Also, trolls impersonating key people (ie, me) in order to undermine
what I write and to cause doubt and confusion ("Did Sangi *really*
post this message?" or "Is this a real announcement?") is not even an
issue on the new message board. Yahoo! Woohoo! Woohoo! Woohoo!
*Sangi dances around happily* Yayyyyyyyyy!
The Vampiric Community Message Boards are at:
http://www.sanguinarius.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi -- The old message
boards on Server.com and EZBoards are no longer supported or used by
Sanguinarius.org so PLEASE shift your conversations over to the New
Official Vampire Community Message Boards. Also, please be sure to
update your links and bookmarks to point to the new location.
I still have a good amount of customizing to do on the new Vampiric
Community Message Boards, but it is now online and officially open
for posting and viewing. Once all the dust settles down, I hope to
determine some of the areas that I can use assistance with and start
seeking serious volunteers who would be willing to accept positions
to help develop and maintain Sanguinarius.org.

Details Emerge In Double Murder
A bizarre link began to emerge between four people charged in a
gruesome crime.
News story (if you can call it that) by WLWT Cincinnatti.com (8
January, 2002)
http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/wlwt/20020108/lo/1043920_1.html
This is yet another story that is not vampirically motivated, has
nothing to do with vampires, but which the press is managing to
somehow create a link between the crime and vampires and also
roleplaying games. This time, it's back to picking on Dungeons &
Dragons. Gee, didn't linking D&D with crimes and criminals go out in
the '80's???

Texas Vampire Association
The Texas Vampire Association or TVA is now online. It has
functioned as a group offline for a while. If you live in the State
of Texas or have people who do, the TVA is an organization made up of
real vampires and vampire groups from the State of Texas. It's
mission is to bring such persons together to facilitate communication
and interraction among people in Texas. Meetings online and offline
will also be a goal of the TVA. If you live in Texas, you may
contact Damien DaVille at damien@... for more information or

Vampire/Donor Registry
There is now a vampire/donor registry! That is, a place to find a
vampire or donor in your geographical area for feeding purposes. It
is brand new, so no one has submitted any information yet, but we
must start somewhere. :) These are NOT classifieds. It is a
private community, so all people who register are screened by
Necrobabe, the manager, before they are permitted to post their
information. The information is ONLY [your preferred] Name, type of
vampire/donor, age, sex, and location. The registry is divided into
4 sections, and easy to use. This is an MSN community, so you will
need a (free) MSN passport/Hotmail account, which you can obtain by
going to http://www.hotmail.com/ The community link is:
http://communities.msn.com/VampireandDonorRegistry
It is NOT availabe for viewing by the public. Only members that have
been accepted will be able to access the site. When you apply for
membership to the community, you will be sent a questionnaire as to
why you want to register, among other things. This is for everyone's
protection. Necrobabe hopes that all vampires and donors will take
advantage of the registry, and make it a safe and reliable place to
find what you need.

New Articles ( http://www.sanguinarius.org/vampsupport/articles.htm )
- Added "The Bond", a vampiric poem by Crimson^Angel. (Added: 14
February, 2002)
- Added "The Basics of Shielding: A Visual Approach", by Lif
Fossimilis. Useful information for beginners on developing a shield
by using visualization techniques. (Added: 14 February, 2002)
-- Added "The Four Stages of Dealing with One's Vampirism", by
Crimson^Angel. An article by Crimson^Angel which discusses the
stages newly awakened vampires may go through. (Added: 7 March,
2002)
- Shortened the title of g0th's article on dealing with blood
cravings to "Beating the Blood Addiction" to more accurately reflect
the subject matter.
More articles on the way, so stay tuned.
Also, I've redesigned the Articles Index page and organized the
articles into categories to make it easier for people to find the
information they are looking for:
- Newer Articles -- Newer articles will appear here first for a period
of time before I sort them into their most appropriate category
below. Check here first if you haven't been here recently. I
generally leave the new articles listed here for around a month
or so.
- Vampires & Blood Matters -- Articles for blood drinkers, about such
things as feeding, blood safety, finding donors, bloodletting
techniques, and more.
- Vampires and Health, Medical & Psycho-Emotional Matters -- Articles
and information about some common shared medical, emotional,
etc., issues.
- Vampires & Psi Matters -- Articles dealing with psi-feeding, psi-
vampirism, shielding, and the like.
- Donors -- Articles about, for, by and about the treatment, care,
respect, etc., of donors / bloodsharing partners, sharing their
perspective. (Help! I don't have any articles or information
for this section!)
- Seekers -- For those seeking information about vampires, perhaps
thinking they might like to be one.
- Social Matters -- Articles ranging from the use (and misuse) of the
word "vampire", to coming out, to hunters, to the evolution of
the vampiric community, and more.
- Other Stuff -- Poetry, satire, interviews/chats, book reviews, and
other entertaining stuff.
After I sorted the articles into their categories, it helped me to
see in what areas information was lacking, and what sort of
information I did have in each area. For instance, I was surprised
that I had absolutely nothing for the donors. I was sure that I had
*some* information, but apparently not. *lame look* I know I've
seen some info for/by donors some place...

#Sanguinarius ( http://www.sanguinarius.org/~irc/ )
While this channel is undergoing growing pains, things have been
rather rough. It seems to me that since #Sanguinarius has become
more widely known, it attracts many different people with many
different attitudes, ideas, ideals, points of view, personalities,
agendas and intentions. While this variety can potentially be a good
thing, politics and personalities come into play, and if allowed to
flourish unchecked, things can get out of hand.
Due to the variety of visitors and regulars to the channel, a lack of
established and consistently followed procedures has led to a general
decline in the atmosphere of the channel and the attitudes and morale
of those who frequent it. In an attempt to restore order and still
manage to have some time available for me to do other things, I
briefly turned ownership of the channel over to Crimson^Angel, who
has gone to a lot of effort to try and help me manage channel
#Sanguinarius.
I was not satisfied with my decision to turn the channel over to
someone else, and I have re-established myself as the founder / owner
once more. This is in no way to indicate a failure on the part of
Crimson^Angel. A set of official policies and procedures has been
developed with the help of other ops. I wiped the existing ops list,
and I intend to build it from the ground up with those I see to be
the best for and most beneficial to channel #Sanguinarius.
All ops will undergo basic training (no, not IRC boot camp) that is
necessary to function as channel helpers and managers. They will
also become familiar with the official channel policies and
procedures, and be expected to follow these. Ops will be expected to
be friendly, helpful and respectful of others. This does not mean
that others will be getting away with walking all over the ops or
treating them with disrespect; troublemakers and disruptive people
will be dealt with consistently and accordingly.
We are working to make channel #Sanguinarius a pleasant, supportive
environment for vampires & blood drinkers, vampire discussions and
support, information and community.
