Please take a moment right now to forward this email to *just one* person
you know who has never gone to Dracula's Ball before. As any vampire will
tell you, new blood is essential to good health!

Thanks to all of you who again took the time to give us your input on the
Halloween Dracula's Ball. Approximately 80% of the responses expressed a
preference for having the Halloween Dracula's Ball event at Shampoo on
10/31 with The Cruxshadows and Voltaire, so that's exactly what we are
going to do. Given that it is a Monday night, we may arrange slightly
earlier start times for the bands than usual. Details will of course be on
our website.

So, we've talked about Halloween...let's talk about Labor Day! It feels
like summer just started, but we're only six weeks away from Labor Day
weekend, which of course means the next installment of Dracula's Ball. Our
venue is once again the spacious and friendly Shampoo Nightclub, located at
7th and Willow Streets in Philadelphia.

Tickets are $13 and are on sale now. Isotank.com is now offering free
ticket shipping for orders of five or more tickets; see their website for
details. As always, tickets are also available through Ticketmaster
(service charges apply) and Digital Ferret CDs in Philadelphia.

Our first band, Hungry Lucy, last performed at the Ball with The Dreamside
(another fantastic band with a new album coming out in September...) over
three years ago. Call it trip-hop, heavenly voices, or ethereal if you
like; their songs are simply gorgeous. Fans of Massive Attack, The Cocteau
Twins or The Cranes will adore Christa Belle's amazing vocals, and their
music is a brilliant tapestry of dark ethereal-pop. This Ohio band is
impressive - don't miss them! Stage time: 10:30pm

So many of you demanded it that we couldn't wait any longer to have them at
the Ball: The Last Dance. Although they have been a fixture of the
American alternative music scene for over a decade, this is the first
Dracula's Ball performance for The Last Dance. This Los Angeles band blends
dark rock music with electronic sounds but achieves a warm sound, no doubt
helped by emotive and expressive vocals and lyrics. Music to feel as well
as hear. They'll be performing some of your favorites as well as material
from their upcoming album "Once Beautiful." STAGE TIME - 12:05AM

All three of our DJs are making their first appearance at the Dracula's
Ball!

DJ VIKKI WILSON (VA): is a resident DJ for Doom Gloom in Norfolk VA and has
been DJing for over 13 years. Vikki was first introduced into the DJ
culture in 1989 while living in Germany and has very broad and ecletic
taste.

WILHELM K (NY): From techno events across the country to his current weekly
"Nokturna Sundays" in upstate New York, Wilhelm has been performing for
over 14 years. Expect him to deliver a speaker pounding mix of industrial,
ebm, synth, and elektro in our open-air Groove Garden.

DJ TH'ELF (CANADA): All the way from our neighbor to the North, DJ Th'Elf
has been behind the turntables for many years, both as a resident DJ and as
a guest at numerous special events.

We'll be offering a sneak preview of "Asleep By Dawn Magazine Presents:
Sleepwatching Vol.1," a DVD compilation of fantastic videos by many of your
favorite artists, which is due in stores on September 20th. This amazing
compilation is priced at $13.99 and includes videos by Loreena McKennitt,
The Cruxshadows, Peter Murphy, Qntal, The Cult, Lunascape, Blue Man Group,
Eisbrecher, Lacuna Coil, Corvus Corax and many more, as well as an
interview with Ville Vallo of HIM.

We have a number of new vendors making their debut in the Rialto, our
shopping section, as well as the return of a few favorite merchants. As
always, there will be door prizes and giveaways.

Looking for a ride? Someone has started a Dracula's Ball Travel community
on LiveJournal. It's designed to facilitate ride sharing as well as
meet-ups with people from your area who are coming to Philly for the Ball.

The next Dracula's Ball event will take place on Saturday, September 3rd,
2005, from 9pm-2am. The location will be Shampoo Nightclub, located on
Willow Street between 7th & 8th Streets in Philadlephia, PA. All ages are
welcome; those wishing to drink must be 21+ with proper photo ID. There
are two large, enclosed, free parking lots (although they fill up quickly -
come early so you don't have to park elsewhere less convenient).

Tickets are on sale now and are $13 in advance, available through
Ticketmaster (service charges apply), IsoTank.com (free shipping on 5 or
more tickets), or at Digital Ferret CDs in Philadelphia (526 S. 5th St.,
12pm-10pm daily, 7pm Sundays). Admission at the door will be $15. Those
with advance tickets will be able to enter more quickly and avoid the line
at the cashier window.
