Hello, again, from Sangi-Land. It's time for the News at Night.

I'm sorry I didn't get this out last month. I was on vacation,
visiting my folks in Arizona over Christmas, and then when I got back,
I got sick. I had the flu and bronchial asthma, and had to go into
the hospital for a couple of days. I smoke, so when it hit, it
slammed me in my chest really bad. I'm cutting back on smoking, and
plan to save up for a nicoderm patch or something similar so I can
wean myelf off the ciggies that way, without having to go through all
the hell of quitting cold turkey.

CHILTON — An Internet predator who victimized a 14-year-old New
Holstein girl serves as a reminder to parents to beware of what your
children are doing online.

A New York man will be sentenced March 30 for sexual assault and
Internet crimes involving the girl.

Christopher J. Burkum, who went by the name "Vampire of Darkness" in
Internet chat rooms, pleaded no contest to second-degree sexual
assault of a child and child enticement Friday before Fond du Lac
County Circuit Judge Peter Grimm.

Vampire tales 'bloody ridiculous'

people in Birmingham were today dismissed by police as an "urban myth"
which is spiralling out of control.

The Evening Mail has been flooded with calls from terrified families,

Saltley, Small Heath and Alum Rock.

All have heard rumours of a man biting people in the streets and
knocking on doors attacking homeowners.

KinVention North

KinVention North is a celebration of the vernal equinox, held annually
in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, by and for the Otherkin.
While being Otherkin is not a requirement for attendance, a
willingness to accept and understand is. It is our intention as
convenors that KinVention North be a safe place for those who are
Otherkin to gather without fear of harassment...

KinVention North is an exploration of what it means to be Otherkin,
and for many that exploration includes magick, reiki, and other forms
of energy work. Many of the workshops traditionally held during the
weekend of KinVention North focus on magickal activities; however,
attendance at these workshops, or indeed any workshops, is purely
voluntary.

KinVention North will be held from Friday, March 11th through Sunday,

We've just confirmed a new speaker/guest/attendeefor KinNorth 2005.

Father Sebastian Todd of the Ordo Strigoi Vii (formerly the
Sanguinarium), co-author of the book "V" and the Sanguinomicon, will
be on hand for revelry, education, and a book signing.

Chicago-based otherkin/vampyre goth metal band URN have also been
confirmed as our returning musical guests for Friday night, and
Michelle Belanger of House Kheperu, author of "The Psychic Vampire
Codex" will be gracing the stage with them. She'll also be speaking
earlier on Friday night (although the schedule is subject to change
depending on how much time the band needs to set up.) Th'Elf will be
DJing the "Come As You Really Are" dance on Saturday night, along with
guest DJ Zanzi from Kingston, Ontario.

Lord Dividian has disbanded the House of Anunaki due to internal
political conflicts and tensions. Though the website is still online

, people will not be able to access any of its features, other than
the link to the guestbook; the yahoo group has also been disbanded.

The HOA has reformed under a new name: The Lost House of Enki. Their

. Lord Dividian asks that if anyone is interested in continuing their
education to join the group asap.

Lord Dividian writes, "This group is here at a temporary setup until
the new website and school is open online. This is more or less a
holding ground where we can converse and get all the members who still
want to be a part of the former HOA family together. ... We are going
to create a FORMAL online school for the education of vampires,
otherkin, and those who are open minded. We do not have a name yet
but it looks like templeoftheshadows is the most popular so far."

Eagles Mere Spring Gathering 2005

Spring Gathering 2005 is set for April 29th through May 2nd in Eagles
Mere, Pennsylvania. The cost for this gathering is $150.00 per person
and includes your lodging and meals for the 3 day/night stay.

Eagles Mere, situated high in the beautiful "Endless Mountains" of
Northeastern Pennsylvania, was developed in the 1800's as a resort for
Wealthy Philadelphians. They came to the mountain for the cool clean
Air and crystal clear waters of the mile long lake. Eagles Mere
Remains much the same as it did years ago when the pace of life was
more peaceful and less stressful.

The Lodge is a three-story log cabin offering rustic comfort for Forty
guests and its accommodations include 9 bedrooms, 4 full Bathrooms/2

offers a large hot tub that will seat eight comfortably, a Pool table,

Founder of the Sanguinarium 'Retiring'

On 26 January, Father Sebastian (a.k.a. Father Todd) announced that he
will be officially retiring from the vampire/vampyre subculture in
order to devote his time to writing. "It is time for me to focus on
my personal life (which I have not had one). It is my intention to
move on to personal evolutions and development through Xeper," writes
Sebastian, "My official 'retirement party' will take place on the
final night of this year's Endless Night Festival in New Orleans on
Sunday October 30th, 2005." He adds, "Over the next couple months I
will be focusing on the final editions of VAMPYRE series of
anthologies (Sanguinomicon and Black Veil) and pursuing my dreams of
establishing myself as a successful publisher", and "I ask that you
all please leave me out of intrigues and community politics since I
have no interest in being political anymore. My continuing
involvement in the community will be through the written word, in my
publications."

He wishes to now be known as Sebastian Von Houten.

Akasha has announced that The Vampire Society is putting together a
newsletter for vampires, which is supposed to be released sometime
this month. It will be posted to the VS News list (

indigos/starseeds, and anyone interested in such beings.

We have published three issues previously, and the next issue is due
out around approximately the end of February.

This newsletter is for all. We are seeking submissions of poetry,
articles of interest, editorials, and anything that you feel would
enhance the overall view of us all as Kin. The _Shadow Tymes_ is
looking for informative articles on what it's like to be a donor; we
would like it to be from a donor's viewpoint. As an added note, we
are looking for short stories and artwork, also. All submitted
material must be original work or have permission to use. If you have
something that you would like to share with the community as a
submission to be placed in the Shadow Tymes, please send it to:
Shadowtymes_submissions@... . The deadline for this issue is
February 18th, 2004; submissions recieved after that date will be held
for next issue.

There is also "Dear Lilith", an advice column that you can send your

The Coven Chat is BACK!

Greetings my vampy kin, friends, and family! :)

I just wanted to pop out a quick notice that the Causerie is back, and
the real-time chat room is in full action. I was able to find a
suitable Java-powered package that would allow me the security I
needed, but would also not drive up my host's usage and bandwidth ...
which is a good thing. ;)

It's a bit different than the old chats, but offers a lot more
functionality and even some fun (IMO). Anyone who has ever used mIRC
or any similar IRC chat client will find the controls and GUI to be
very similar. :)

Be sure to read the full page instructions before entering the chat
room. And I also recommend reading the rules if you are a first time
visitor. :)

A Word About the Vampiric Studies Site

The Vampiric Studies website (
http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Rampart/1311/ ) has been around for a
long time. Unfortunately, it is NOT a reliable source for information
on real vampires, and contains a lot of false and misleading
information; Catherene, the webmistress, is either deliberately
deciving people for her own gratification, or is, herself, decieved.
Catherene/NightPoe ("teacher to night's children") used to have
nothing up on the site but BS about supposedly "real vampires" (the
immortal, inhuman kind).

But back in the late '90s, the number of accurate real vampire sites
and information beginning to appear on the 'net, as well as the sheer
volume of actual real vampires complaining about her lack of accurate
information, forced her to put token information about REAL vampires
on her site in order to maintain some iota of credibility. Of course,
she left the existing false and inaccurate info about the immortal
kinds and what they are like and so forth on her site.

Terminology such as "Inheritors", "Classicals", "Night-timers",
"Genetics", "Bloodists", and so forth originate from Catherene's site,
and are really not terms that apply to real vampires in any realistic
sort of way, even if they happen to describe some aspect of real
vampirism, which most don't. Most people who know what they are
talking about don't use her terminology as they recognize that her
site and its information are not an accurate "real vampire site". Use
of these terms shows the speaker is either a "Vampiric Studies" site
groupie or merely ignorant of more accurate, reliable information
available out there.

Vampirism is not caused by a virus. There is no such thing as the "V5
virus". For the truth about this alleged V5 Virus, please go to
http://v5.gq.nu/ . Also, the so-called "K-17 virus" is from a movie.
