To those of you who have made your way back here from our .com, I apologise for the lack of notice of its closure. Due to the interference of hackers, our site was no longer able to continue as it was, and at this time we are unable to remedy the issue. However, the SLR community has never been about a .com location and a swanky site. This community is about friendship, support and love. We began here in the Yahoo Communities, so it is fitting that for now, we continue our journey here once more :)

For those of you who stumble upon us, here's a little bit of info about our community:

To new people who stumble upon us here, this group was started as a bit of a tongue-in-cheek matchmaking spot for Lord of the Rings fans.

The people who make up the SLR community often talk about finding their 'Sam or Rosie', and the aspects of the journey (both good and bad) that come with it. But recently, we stumbled upon a truth that rang with all of us - that the community itself has been the Sam or Rosie we have been searching for - because it has helped in many a person's healing and strengthening - just through the unconditional kindness and support from people all around the world! So, in many ways, it has mirrored aspects of not only the love that Sam and Rosie found in each other, but the unconditional friendship, love and support shared by Sam and Frodo.

We hope, then, that whether or not you find your match here, that you will sit by the fire awhile, and share with us the many things about you that have brought you to this place. We are ever welcoming - and whether you choose to stay or go, we hope that your time in the community will be filled with fond memories of time spent with friends.
