Salga - THE SOUTH ASIAN LESBIAN AND GAY ASSOCIATION - NYC is an organization for and of gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgendered people who descend from
the Indian subcontinent. We have members from India, Pakistan, Sri lanka, Kenya, Guyana, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh etc. We have support group meetings on the second saturday of every month from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm
at the Gay and Lesbian Center which is on 1 Little West 12th Street. These support group meetings are open to South Asians only. These meetings provide a safe space for South Asians to express themselves without any inhibitions. Our topics change from meeting to meeting and the names of the attendees are held in the strictest of confidence. We
also have a voice line at 212-358-5132 that is updated regularly with upcoming events. You may also leave a voice mail if you wish to pass on a message or comment.
You may also send us an email at salganyc@hotmail.com with "subscribe" as the subject and we will place you on our mailing list. This email list is not distributed to anyone else other than the officers of Salga.
In addition to these meetings, we have social events, political rallies and other outreach
efforts for whom we need volunteers constantly. These events are open to all.
