This group was created to facilitate communication among members of the St. Clair Yacht Club, the friendliest club on the Detroit River.

In the Fall of 2007, Director Jim Like, took steps to improve communication within SCYC such as this site - one of the strategies intended to help members remain informed and involved.

Another strategy was the development of a SCYC website at www.stcyc.org.

Jim enlisted additional member help to install needed resources for strengthening club operations such as opening more communication channels with members - past, present and future.

In the coming months you can expect to see more changes and of course, more communication about your club. We hope that communication flows both ways - to and from members. Thanks to those members who volunteer their time, SCYC flourishes. However, they can't do it alone, so please contact us with an offer to help.

This site offers a number of features that will serve the information needs of members as well as SCYC elected directors and committee members.

Newsletter receipt by email will be an option for any member who chooses that medium. All newsletters will be archived in the files section.

Helpful and practical websites will be included in the LINKS section.

The Calendar will automatically notify members of any SCYC events and meetings - if a member choose to receive such emails. If members prefer, instead of emails being sent in real time, the can opt for periodic digests or turn off email and opt for checking this site when they choose.

Another benefit of this electronic group is the polling feature which allows polling among every member who chooses to belong to this group. That would be a really nice kind of feedback tool for your club directors - if everyone joined.

This site is closed to the public. Only a member of SCYC who has also requested to be member of this group called "saintclairyachtclub" may access the site.
