SSCM is for the discussion of both inshore and offshore Small (approximately 18-35') Cruising Multihulls, consisting of trimarans, catamarans and proas. The main purpose of this group will be to assemble photos, articles, documents, links, etc. to give the interested sailor as much information as possible about inshore and offshore Small Multihulls, trimarans, catamarans and proas. Currently, on the Internet, there is no central place where this information can be found. Owners of all small multihull cruisers are invited to join and participate.
In the 18 to 35 foot cruiser range, the multihull market is much more fragmented than the mono market. More trimarans, catamarans and proas are custom or owner built. At certain sizes, there are no production multihulls at all. For many of these multihulls, there are no user groups. Getting information about trimarans, catamarans and proas can therefore be difficult. The purpose of this multihull group is to make available information about small multihulls. The Moderator has been interested in such trimarans, catamarans and proas for several years and has set up this site to share the information he has found. Hopefully, others will share and the site will become a small multihulls resource.
