Sri Krishna Janmashtami evening  in Prasanthi Nilayam
Friday, August 10th, 2012
Devotees from Visakhapatanam district of Andhra Pradesh staged a Musical Dance Drama entitled “Sai Krishnaya Charanam Namo Namah” on this Sri Krishna Janmashtami evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam.

At the outset, the district president of SSSSO, Visakhapatanam gave an overview of the activities of the Organisation in the district. The presentation was based on the theme, drawing similarities between the two Avatars, Bhagawan Sri Krishna and Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai. Interspersed with colourful dances by children, elucidating on the glory of both the Avatars, the presentation illustrated wondrous tales from Bhagawan’s Avataric life, as to how devotees have been saved from dire life-threatening situations, most miraculously.

The presentation came to a close with a beautiful dance at 1800 hrs. Entire cast of the presentation were felicitated with special gifts and Prasadam was distributed to the entire audience. Bhajans continued and the session came to a close at 1815 hrs. with Mangala Arathi.

Tomorrow evening, on the second day of their Parthi Yatra, devotees from Visakhapatanam will offer a musical bouquet, entitled Sri Sathya Sai Sangeeta Sudha. This evening the district is taking out a huge procession, Maha Nagasankirtan, outside the Prasanthi Nilayam precincts, singing glories of Bhagawan.

Prasanthi Sings Paens Of Lord Krishna…

Friday, August 10th, 2012
Holy hymns singing paens of Lord Krishna along with a colourful procession of quadrupeds from Sri Sathya Sai Gokulam marked the auspicious Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations here in Prasanthi Nilayam this morning.

The programme commenced at 0830 hrs., after half-an-hour Veda chanting, with students singing Madhurashtakam composed by Vallabhacharya followed by Achyuthashtakam by Shankaracharya. Other songs were Gana Sundara Karuna Rasa Mandira, Mohana Murali…., both often heard numbers from Prasanthi, Manasa Sancharare by Thyagaraja, , Chandana Charchita Neelakalebhara in Malayalam ending with a Hindi devotional invoking Bhagawan.

Even as the songs continued, the colourful procession of quadrupeds and birds from Sri Sathya Sai Gokulam arrived at the Mandir escorted by the Nadaswaram troupe from the Institute. The quadrupeds included cows and calves, deers, rabbits, peacocks, doves and the canine ‘Jolly’ from Senior Hostel.

Senior administrators of Ashram, including Trust Members and Secretary of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, fed the animals and birds, a tradition set by Bhagawan, before Mangala Arathi was offered to them.

Bhagawan’s Divine Discourse followed next. The discourse was centred around Radharani’s complete surrender marked with unsullied devotions towards Lord Krishna leading to Bhagawan’s final Flute-Play.

Bhagawan continued with His lucid narration, recounting His days in Dwapara, singing the melody “Pata Paduma Krishna …” and the devoted assembly sat in silent devotion recapturing live memories of Bhagawan’s physical presence in the same venue, discoursing and singing on many such occasions. Krishna Principle is verily Love Principle, echoed Bhagawan exhorting the audience to live in love, praying for the welfare of all the worlds. Bhagawan ended His Divine discourse with the bhajan Govinda Krishna Jai…

With bhajans continuing, primary children offered greeting offerings at the Sanctum Sactorum followed by a set of  senior students, carrying quadrupeds and birds, namely deers, white doves, rabbits, peacocks and the hostel canine Jolly, seeking blessings. The white doves were released subsequently symbolising peace unto the world. Prasadam was distributed to the entire assemblage before Mangala Arathi offering at 1005 hrs.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
In the Geetha when Arjuna posed the question, “What exactly is the benefit of attaining You?” Krishna smiled and replied, "Arjuna! What greater benefit is there than attaining union with God? This holy victory makes one a Mahatma. While a normal person is established in body consciousness, and is tossed about every day by joy and grief, the Mahatmas are free from all dual experiences and are ever joyful. They are above and beyond. They are pure in heart and have no further birth and death. They have released themselves from identity with the particularised; they become the Universal, Eternal, Changeless. They are neither dull nor driven about by desire. They are unaffected by attachment or hate.”

Janmashtami is the sacred day which marks the auspicious arrival of the Advent of the Formless, Nameless, and Timeless Absolute into a Living and Loving Form. The Divine appeared as Krishna to charm humanity through His pranks, His play, His song and sweetness and to instruct mankind through His teachings and grace. What one has to do on this auspicious day is to dwell on the elevating thoughts centering round the Lord in this form and take the first or further steps in the spiritual path. Use such sacred days as starting points for propitiating the Form of Godhead which you have chosen for offering homage, the Form which appeals to your innermost yearnings. Do not ascribe evil to any day. Every day is good when you spend it for God. Every star is good, provided its light guides your feet to God. This is My advice to you, this day.

A Couple of Sai Baba Experiences - Part 222

Sharing herewith few more experiences of devotees with Lord Sai Baba of Shirdi.

Baba Gave Me Beautiful Darshan In The Form Of Sikh Chacha

Sai Sister Sunitha Ji from India says: Hi Hetal Ji, I am a regular reader of your blog. You are so blessed by Baba. I love you so much Baba. Please hold my hand always. Always show Your blessings to all Your devotees. Hetal Ji, please don't disclose my mail id. You can display my name. Please edit it wherever required. Thank you so much by posting these Leela's. This is the first time I am writing my experiences in this blog.

  • Leela 1:

One day I was going with my aunt outside. There I saw from long distance one sikh chacha wearing orange cloth over his head and white dress. I was having a habit of thinking of Sai whenever I see people like them. Then I was thinking my mind that Sai Baba, is that You? I know that he is You only. If so please give me a smile. So I was moving slowly and that person crossed us and while crossing, you know Hetal Ji, Sai Baba smiled at me. What a lovely smile it was. I was mesmerized completely. I was in shock, when I came out of that joy, my aunt asked me did you know that chacha. I told her about what happened and she was also shocked. I was really happy. Baba, thank You so much for Your sweet Darshan. This incident I will remember till my last breath.
  • Leela 2:

Once, my sister's son got pneumonia. My mom, sister and I were very upset with this news. I was praying to Baba to cure him as he is just 1 and half year old. Doctor gave some medicine and asked them to come after 2 weeks if the fever and cold does not subside. I asked my sister to give some UDI mixed in water. I prayed whole heartedly to Baba, and Baba is so kind enough and Baba cured him completely after two weeks.
  • Leela 3:

I did one work in my office. After that they released another build. In that, whatever work I did, was not working. But I told them that it was working fine earlier. But they did not agree. I too was little bit scared even though it was working fine in earlier builds. They asked me to show the logs that it was working. I prayed to Sai Baba and then I again retested and it was working fine. Then I told Baba if this works fine with previous release, then I will post my experience. Thank You so much Baba. You saved me from this obstacle.

Sai The Saviour

Anonymous Devotee from India says: Thanks to Hetal Ji for doing this great job, where every devotee, who is pulled by Baba, gets very close to Him by reading all these experiences. Please don't disclose my email id or name. I have a small experience to share with you all.

There was some marriage alliance that came for me. I was not interested in that for some reasons. But I couldn't deny as my parents and relatives were interested. I prayed to Baba to help me on this. And every time, when they plan to come, for some or the other reasons they didnt come. I always felt Baba has been there and He helped me on this.

Thanks Baba for all your help. Thank You so much. He hears to every devotees prayers and cares for them a lot. I am sorry Baba if I have missed something here. May Sai ma shower His blessings on all the living beings in the world.

Om Sai Shri Sai Jai Jai Sai.

Monetary Help By Baba

Sai Brother Gowtham Ji from India says: I had a little amount left with for this month of May and I had to pay my house rent as well. I was not trying to evade, I planned to pay and borrow money from someone for the month's expenses. I was having planned to do so. I approached my land lord stating that I had made an online transfer of rent to his account and to confirm on receipt. I had intended to do the online transfer the same day in the evening on receiving the money that I wished to borrow. Next day, I found that I haven't received the money and hence I couldn't transfer the rent to my land lord. However, the very next day, my landlord approached stating that the rent has been deposited to his account. I was dumbstruck and choked as my Lord Sai Baba had saved me from borrowing money and by depositing money into my land lord's account. Some might not believe this or find hard to believe, but I trust this as act of Sai, who has helped me and is helping me.

Sai Baba Is Always With Us - Sai Daughter

Many times we are stuck up in life and do not get any way to get out of the mess. But sincere call to Lord Sai Baba makes us easy to clear off. Read the experience below to learn this.

Anonymous Devotee from USA says: Dear Hetal Ji, first of all I would like to thank you and your team a lot for doing this great work. Please do not disclose my email id. And you can mention my name as Sai daughter.

I am living in US from past 10 years. I just started my own business about 2 years ago. This incidence happened about 2 months ago. One of the machines in my office was old and it was not working properly. So I ordered a new machine and they came and installed the machine. Everything was good for one week. But on Saturday, we started working at 9 am and it was supposed to be a busy day for me. So I finished my first 2 clients and then one of assistants saw that there was water leaking from the new machine. We immediately stopped working, switched off all the machines and called all the other clients and rescheduled their appointments. I would like to mention here that I was leasing this place and it is on the second floor. So after that I thought it was no big deal, probably the installation guy did some minor mistake and he would fix it on Monday since they are not open the weekends. Thinking this way, I started cleaning up the mess.

As soon as I was done cleaning all that mess, then came the shock. My landlord came into my office and asked if there was any problem. I told her everything and I told that the installation guy will come and fix it on Monday. But she told me it is not a small problem and I should call my insurance guys on Monday instead of the installation. I was surprised to hear that and could not get her. Then she explained me in detail saying that the business downstairs is all flooded with water and it was pouring like rain over there. I could not believe it. When I went downstairs it was all water over there and they had to close the business downstairs too. My landlord scared me saying that it is a major damage and I should repair everything. I was shocked to hear that.

I did not know what to do. Estimated repairs would be around hundred thousand dollars if my insurance did not cover it. I had no idea, what insurance would cover because it was my property insurance so it would take care of my property damages, but not the business downstairs. While I was thinking about all these my landlord came again and she told me that she cannot leave the roof and floor wet till Monday and something has to be done to dry it out before it can damage more. And she told I have to call my insurance and try to get hold of someone and get the drying process started if not I should pay on my own for the drying process, which would be estimated around 10,000 dollars. I did not have any choice so I told her I will try calling my insurance. I came into my office and first thing I did is prayed sincerely to my Baba to take care of this problem and help me out. I told Him I know there might be a good reason why You are doing all this to me, but please help me because I dont have that much money to pay them and You already know that my husband and me are trying hard to save money to go back to India for good, so please help us deva. I did not have much time to talk to Baba because my landlord was waiting for me. Then I called my insurance expecting to leave a message as it was weekend. But my Baba already started taking care of me. One of the lady answered the phone and told me that she will send the message to a local person, who is in charge and he should be calling me within one hour. I was in tears and thanked Baba that at least someone answered my phone. When I told about this to my landlord, she was very much surprised that someone answered during the weekend.

While we waited, someone did call and asked me what was going on. He again told that he will send someone to come and take a look at it and see if it was under my coverage to take care of the problem otherwise the landlord should call her insurance to take care of it. When I told my landlord about this, she was not at all happy and she told that she already tried to call her insurance and since it is weekend nobody is answering it and that I should pay for the dry out if my insurance does not cover it. I was very sad and was about to start crying, but I just prayed to Baba to give me strength to face all this and hold my tears inside. So I was just waiting for the assessor to come and was praying Om Sai Nathaya Namaha. In the mean time my husband came and we both were waiting for the assessor.

Finally around 4 pm, the assessor came and he told that it is the mistake of the installation company and they should be responsible for all this. So I thought that I will be losing $10,000 dollars for the dry out because that company was not answering and I was crying inside and still chanting Om Sai Nathaya Namaha. Then that person told that he will take care of everything and will go after the installation company later. What a relief was that. I went inside thanked Baba to my hearts content and cried all my heart out in front of Him. Thanks a lot Baba for taking care of everything. So from that moment everything is being taken care by insurance. I had to close my business for 10 days and I was afraid that I would lose my clients because we had to reschedule them after 3 weeks (as my book was full for three weeks), but by Babas grace none of them left our office. Even now the process is not complete yet, but I am sure my Baba will take care of it. So, as of now I am just paying 1,000 dollars deductible (which my insurance will give back to me once the installation company pays them in full) and my premium will remain the same. All this happened only because of my Baba. Thanks a lot Baba, we all love You a lot. Please bless everybody. Thank You.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Why waste precious time in scandalous talk and criticisms of others' behaviour? Cultivating envy, malice, hatred and anger against others is an evil pastime that recoils on oneself. In every one there is resident the self-same divine spark; so cavilling at the neighbour is tantamount to cavilling at Divinity. The game of life is worth playing and becomes interesting only when there are bounds and rules which limit and control. Imagine a game of football without any rules or boundaries – it will be chaos; it will be a free fight, a riot. No one can say who wins and how. The path of virtuous conduct (Dharma maarga) is the boundary of the field, in the game of life. Play the game, paying heed to the warnings of ‘foul’ and ‘out’, and let your virtues win over the vicious tendencies within you.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Schooling is not merely for food and delight, for earning a living and to enjoy leisure. Its true purpose should be to activate the qualities of wisdom in action, non-attachment and discriminatory power (Viveka, Vairaagya and Vichakshana). The root is education and the fruit should be virtues. Every school must shape its students into citizens, worthy of the country’s precious heritage and spiritual wealth. Otherwise, all schooling is a waste of time and money. Schools are the temples of the Goddess of Wisdom who grants to each child the wisdom to grasp the Ultimate Truth and acquire knowledge that will dispel ignorance for ever. The school must facilitate this and ensure stability in all the students to practice the virtues of Truth, Righteousness and Peace, through the blossoming of Love.

Story behind this photo- 75. (Yanthram is Storing place of Manthram).

Swami says that an Yanthram is a storing place of Manthram, which are the Moola (root)  Manthras of various Divine figures, like Gayathri. It will consist of Beeja Akshras, Adoration and then some prayers. Every Deity has a special Moola Mantra, and special Chakras which are called Yantras. In this photo we can see the picture of Gayathri Devi on one side and the Sai chakra on the other side. When we keep this chakra in front of us, or keeping it in our Pocket, the Gayathri Manthra which we chant is stored in the yenatra, and in due course the Yanthra becomes very potent and powerful, echoing the vibrations of the Manthra.

In almost all temples, where the ritualistic installation of the idols are carried out, the yanthras of that particular deity is placed underneath and then the Idol is installed. Prior to installation various yagnas are performed, and a team of priests constantly chant the moola manthra, to make the Yanthra very powerful. Such temples attract more and more devotees.

Swami had placed a such large copper Yantra under a tree in Prashanthi Nilayam, where many devotees are seen sitting in meditation. I have also witnessed almost all installation ceremonies of various Gods and Goddesses, in Prashanthi Nilayam,  like Subramania, Gayathri, Sri Rama etc. Swami used to place the copper sheets, wherein the mystic designs of these devotees are carved.
I am writing this to impress upon all devotees to carry the Gayathri Yanthra with Sai Chakra in their pockets and go on chanting Gayathri Manthra whenever you get free time, especially while travelling every day.
With Love & Regards, Mumbai Srinivasan.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
If the mind is immersed in bliss, the body will not suffer from illness. The human body is the vehicle which you have to use for attaining the state of bliss, and so it has to be kept safe and strong for that noble purpose. It is an instrument for spiritual effort, which has been earned by the merit of previous births. Every moment, the body is speedily proceeding towards dissolution, and so time should not be wasted in vain pursuits. Do not get attached to the body; treat it as a wound, which has to be covered by bandage (clothes), treated with drugs (food) and also washed regularly. Then you can get rid of the inordinate attachment, and this is essential because only then will you get the true urge and inspiration to serve others!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
From the most ancient times Bharatiyas (Indians) considered Truth as God, loved it, fostered it and protected it and thereby achieved Divinity. They were devoted to Truth, wedded to Dharma (Righteousness) and regarded morality in society as their foremost duty. Today because people have forgotten Truth and Righteousness they are unable to solve national problems or end communal differences. We have the Bay of Bengal in the east and the Arabian Sea in the west and both merge in the Indian Ocean. Likewise, Bharat exemplifies the combination of worldly prosperity and spiritual progress. Bharat is the country, where the unity of the Jiva (the individual Spirit) and the Brahmam (the Cosmic Spirit) was established. Remember, the term Bharat does not relate to any particular individual or country. True Bharatiyas are those who take delight in Self-knowledge. Hence anyone who shines by their own self-luminous power is a Bharatiya.

SAI RAM,

AN INDEPENDENCE DAY  WALLPAPER WITH BABA'S QUOTE.

Offer service and receive love.
This is the recipe for
Experiencing Divinity.
Our love should not be confined
To our kith and kin.
It must extend beyond the
Family to society as a whole,
Then to the nation at large and
Finally embrace the whole world.

But one of r Eswaramma's greatest blessings was a vision she had a few days prior to passing away which she confided to another elderly lady. We know of this directly from Pedda Bottu:

Pedda Bottu,' Easwaramma said to me, I want to tell you something that happened to me. But tell no one else.' I sat closer and said, What is it, tell me.' Our Swami is God!' she whispered. I laughed. Why do you laugh?' she asked. No, no, I was not laughing at you. I am only happy you have realized it now. Well, tell me, how did you come to know?' I asked. You know I have been having high fever for four days. Swami came to me then.'

In a dream?' I asked, No,' she said, He really did come to me when I was rolling restlessly in bed. 'Ammayi, how do you feel?' He asked. My whole body is aching,' I replied, looking up at him. Then what can I tell you? It was not he that you and I know. It was Ramachandra with Kireetam and Kodandam (Crown and Bow)! I raised my folded hands and struggled to sit up and get out of bed. But in a few moments he became Swami again, gave me Vibhuthi Prasadam and said, The fever will go,' and went."

You are indeed blessed. What a rare piece of luck!' I exclaimed. No one of us has had a vision of Sai Rama as Ramachandramurthy while fully awake and alert.'

The Flame And The Fire Become One

This vision and revelation was surely the fittest prelude to the mergence of that sacred ray in the Paramjyoti, the Supreme Flame, from which it had emerged. Swami, the embodiment of that Paramjyoti, himself disclosed the events and incidents of Easwaramma's last day, May 6, 1972, during one of his discourses on the 6th of May, the day dedicated to her memory. He said:

It was the day before her passing away and I suddenly asked her, in the midst of casual conversation, "Tell me, is there anything else you desire?" She said, "I have finished my pilgrimages to all the temples. I have seen the biggest temple of all and the God that resides there. I have no desire for anything more." But I knew that a small wish still lurked in a corner of her mind she wished to give a gift to a granddaughter on her birthday. So I insisted that she should accept Rs. 500, go to the bazaar and buy whatever she wished. I sent her along with a companion and she returned happy with what she had bought.

On the 6th of May, 1983, Swami continued the narrative, speaking in greater detail of Easwaramma's Day of Deliverance:

This day is Easwaramma Day. The significance of the day is that it is celebrated as Children's Day, a day when little children are to be reminded of the ideal, a day when she presented an ideal. No one can escape death, but the aim of everyone should be to remind oneself at the time of death of the divine or have some holy or sacred thoughts. The importance of this day is known to many. There is a saying in Telugu: "The proof of the good is the way they die." Genuine devotion is evidenced during the last moments. I shall point out a small incident concerning the goodness of Easwaramma.

The summer classes were on at Bangalore. In the morning at 7:00 breakfast had to be served to the students. They went round with Nagara Sankeertan and returned at 6:00. I gave them Darshan at its close. Then I went for my bath. Meanwhile, Easwaramma had finished her bath. She drank her coffee as usual quite happily and took her seat on the inner veranda. All of a sudden proceeding to the bathroom, she cried out, "Swami, Swami, Swami!" At this, I responded, "Coming, coming." Within that period she breathed her last. What greater sign of goodness is needed? She had no need to be served and nursed. Swami will come to the memory at that time only for a very few. The mind will usually seek and stay on some object or the other, some jewelry or valuables.

The 'call' and the 'coming'

The Samadhi Mandir in Puttaparthi

From the ground floor she called, "Swami! Swami!" I replied, "Coming, coming," and she was gone. It was like the elephant's calling (Gajendra of Indian mythology) and the Lord proceeding to bless it the two wires achieving connection, the release happening instantaneously.

This is the authentic consummation that life must strive for. Beside her at the time she had her daughter Venkamma and her granddaughter Sailaja but she called out only for Swami. Getting this yearning at the final moment is the fruit of holy purity. It is the sign of an ideal, adorable life. Such attitude must emerge of its own accord and not by means of some external force.

A Couple of Sai Baba Experiences - Part 224
Few more experiences describing grace of Lord Sai Baba.

Baba Blessed Me With A Job

Sai Sister Vasanthi Ji from India says: I am Vasanthi Kollimarla. I am blessed to be a servant of Baba from my childhood days. He has been with me at every step of my life and taking care of me. I am happy to share one of my experiences with Shree Sai Baba.

I am an ardent lover of Shirdi Sai Baba. In the year 2005, I finished my graduation and looking for a job in IT field. I tried various options available to me. But all went in Vain. I was very nervous as my Fresher time period was over and next year graduates also got released. At this point of time, I got frustrated and went back to my Native place, leaving the job search. I daily attended Baba's evening Aarti at a nearby temple and prayed Him for my situation.

After some days, again I went back to Hyderabad on some work and happened to meet a person, who is a Sai devotee. He gave me Sai Satcharitra book and asked me to read Babu Tendulkar, Cholkar, Two Goa Gentlemen story daily. And then I started reading the stories.

After 1 month, I suddenly got a message on my mobile stating that, my resume is shortlisted for Infosys and my written test is scheduled on following Sunday. I went to Hyderabad and gave the test. Once test is completed, I was eagerly waiting for results without having lunch. Suddenly, one of the person, who wrote test with me came to me and said, there was a program getting conducted in nearby auditorium by a Swamiji. I went along with him reluctantly. Coincidentally, Swamiji was teaching some stress relieving exercises to the students over there and even I was asked to participate in that. Immediately, I felt my guru's presence. He came all the way and took me there to make me feel comfortable. And soon after the exercises, they asked all of us to have lunch. But as I was not comfortable, I don't want to have food. But then some elderly person came and offered us food. Once everything is done, I went back to my test place to check results. While entering the place, I could notice a vehicle with a huge Sai Baba Photo coming out of that place. And when I checked the results, I could see my name and thereafter, I cleared Interview and could successfully get the job.

Thanks to Shree Sai Baba. He always drives and takes care of the people who believe in HIM. I must say that this is one of the Miracles that He showered in my life.

Baba Helped Me To Get Appreciated At My Job

Sai Brother Vinay Ji from USA says: Dear Hetal Ji, thank you so much for providing this wonderful blog for all Sai Baba devotees from around the world to get together and share our experiences. Please do not disclose my e-mail ID (first name and country are fine). Please make any edits you feel are necessary.

A few months back my manager at my work had called me into her office and told me about some mistakes I had made. Some of these mistakes were small ones that many others made, and I felt that I was being singled out for some of these. I also asked some of my other co-workers about these mistakes, and they too felt like these were things they didn't understand and would have probably made the same mistakes. I felt very sad and dejected that whole day and also when driving home. However, sometimes when we are sad and feel like there is no hope at all, Baba comes to us to show us not to worry, and this happened to me as well this time. I usually listen to some music in the car (inspiring songs) thinking of Baba, and just before I was to take my highway exit, a car came in front of me with the license plate saying SAI W(heart symbol = love)U and the license plate holder also said OM SAI RAM at the top. I have been in USA for my whole life, and never before have I seen this type of license plate ever. The car stayed in front of me after taking my exit and all the way until I came to the street near my home. It was as if Sai Baba gave me a message saying Don't worry, I am here with you, everything will be ok. I know you feel sad about the job situation, but things will be okay. Just hold on for a little while longer. The area where we live, we don't have many Indian people, so seeing something like this in our area is very rare.

Over the next few weeks, I felt inspired by this sign from Baba and continued my work, and at the grocery store I saw a car with a large Ganesh symbol and another car with a Lord Krishna symbol. It was like Baba was reminding me not to feel down and everything will turn out fine. A few weeks after this incident, I found several mistakes in our work protocols and policies, which I pointed out to my manger (the same one who disciplined me earlier). I was surprised no one found these mistakes earlier, but now I know that Baba must have saved from these mistakes for me to find. My manager thanked me for my careful attention. Then just recently, I had to prepare a case presentation for our clinical meeting. I did some preparation and had to come in on my day off (which I did not mind so much). I gave the presentation in front of our department (about 10-12 people) and thought it went okay (nothing special), but later my manager told me what a wonderful job I did on the presentation and later in another meeting announced in front of our whole department what a great job I did on the presentation and how great it was of me to come in to do this on my off day. Others have come in for this department meeting on their off days and given presentations before, but she never mentioned this in front of everyone like she did for me. I felt very happy and promised Baba that I will write this experience once everything finished.

I felt sad at first when this manager told me about these mistakes, but Baba showed me that He is with me and arranged for me to look good in my manager's eyes by giving me the mistakes in our department's procedures to find and also this opportunity for this case presentation, which I thought went okay, but for my manager went very well (it was only due to Baba that she had such high praise for me). Now, my manager asks me to check some policies and procedures because I have done such a good job finding these mistakes before. I know now that although we must endure difficult times, Baba will find ways for us to be happy again, just as he did for me with the policy and procedure mistakes I found, and the case presentation I did, which my manager praised me for so much. Om Sai Ram!

Sai Helps In Averting Bad Situations

Anonymous Devotee from Australia says: Om Sri Sai Ram, I am a humble devotee of Sri Sai Ram and a big fan of this Blog and especially Hetal Ji for creating something special for all the Sai devotees. Please kindly do not disclose my name or email id. I currently live in Australia with my husband and 16 month old daughter. By Babas grace, everything is going on well. Sai Baba inspired me to write this experience after I read the news headlines this morning.

From the start of this year, we have been trying to enroll our daughter in one of the internationally recognized schools based in Melbourne. As the waiting list is very long, we decided to start the process as soon as she turned one this year. One of our friends suggested that we should enroll our daughter in the same school where their daughter is attending as it is internationally recognized as well as the fees are affordable.

So we started looking to buy properties in the area near to that school, so it becomes easier for our daughter in terms of transport and commuting times. My husband was not too keen in doing this, but still supported me by accompanying me in the search for a house. We were not successful as either the price was too high or there was no bus/train connection or we simply did not like the houses that were up for sale. We kept on facing some obstacle or the other and could not proceed further.

This search went on for about 2 months, and I thought in my heart of hearts that Baba is trying to tell us something and maybe we should stop looking for houses in this area and eventually drop the idea of enrolling our daughter in this famous school. A month went by and we put in an application at a similar internationally recognized school nearby our area itself although fees are a lot higher than that of the previous school. Both my husband and I forgot about the little unhappy experience of unnecessarily spending our time and energy in searching for houses a few months ago.

Yesterday in the office, I heard colleagues mentioning that a very famous school has gone bankrupt and will be closed very soon. I did not pay much attention to this. This morning on our way to work, my husband and I were checking news on our mobiles, when the headline caught my attention. School owes millions in debt, parents worried. I got curious and opened the article. And there to my utter disbelief, it was the same school that we were trying desperately to enroll our daughter in earlier this year. The school has gone into voluntary administration because of the debt and neither the Government nor the Banks are willing to offer any financial support to the school. About 1000 students are now very stressed because they have to find admission in other schools and may or may not get into a good school.

I thanked Sainath mentally for helping us to avoid this stress by indirectly sending messages not to go ahead. I am ever grateful to Saima for showing us the right path and in turn inspiring me to share this experience.

I urge all Sai devotees to keep their eyes and minds open, when starting something new. I feel that Sai communicates messages to us whether a particular situation will be suitable to us or not. If you are not getting good signals, that means Sai already knows that it is not a good path to follow. If you dont face any obstacles, that means Sai has already given us the blessings to proceed further.

My Namaskar to Sainath. Please always take us under Your shadow to protect us from evil and avoid making terrible decisions.
Completely Surrendered to My Lord's Feet
Shri Sai Nath Arpanamastu

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The same current activates all. To realise this and to merge in that Unity is the purpose of this life in the human body. For this consummation, the seeds of attachment to sense objects has to be scrupulously got rid of. A field may look barren and dead, but the first shower of rain will convert it into a green carpet. The seeds of grass in the soil sprout at the touch of dampness. So too, at the first contact with temptation, the seeds of attachment to sense objects sprout and prevent spiritual growth. Spiritual practices must be done sincerely, with a full sense of responsibility. It must not be reduced to empty routine. Realize that to visualize the Lord as the resident in all and as responsible for everything is the hallmark of devotion.

Bharatiya Samskruti Atma Samskruti

Mother India’s patriotic refrain ‘Vande Mataram’ resounded in Prasanthi Nilayam this evening when the II Year Post Graduate students presented a patriotic drama entitled Bharatiya Samskruti Atma Samskruti on the occasion of 66th National Independence Day here in Prasanthi Nilayam. The 85 minute presentation in 12 episodes was based on the theme, as the title goes, ‘Freedom Of The Soul’ as the key for real freedom, as preached by legendary Swami Vivekananda.

Bharatiya Samskruti Atma Samskruti

Depicting the story of a lawyer, arguing on behalf of a ‘guilty’ Chairman of Allied Chemicals that caused homicide of innocent civilians, the presentation takes the audience through various episodes, illustrating anecdotes from India’s illustrious struggle, finally concluding at a high note, showing the transformation of the otherwise unethical, unrighteous lawyer into a man of great self dignity firmly reposed in Soul Culture, thanks to Swami Vivekananda’s influence upon him. Concluding the presentation Vivekananda’s voice echoed affirming that the transformed lawyer is not the single case, but there are countless such souls that took inspiration from this highest ‘soul’ principle that finally helped India in her Independence struggle.

Bharatiya Samskruti Atma Samskruti

The presentation concluded with a group song, that echoed religious harmony. Interestingly, the curtain was drawn depicting various posters of the key legendary characters contributed to the freedom struggle, namely, Subhash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Bhagat Singh, presented uniquely like filling a picture puzzle, pasting them on the wide backdrop, that when finished portrayed a beaming Bhagawan.

Bhajans continued and prasadam was distributed to the entire assembly. The session concluded with Mangala Arathi at 1845 hrs.

Story Behind this photo – 74 A  (The turban on Sri Krishna’s Head.)
Please refer to my earlier posting of Story No. 74.
Here is a photograph of a Mural of Sri Krishna breaking the curd pot. In this depiction, Lord Krishna is seen with a turban as demonstrated Bhagavan. Almost all descriptions given by Bhagaavn can be noticed here.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
In Truth (Sathya), there is no illusion (Mithya). But in the illusory world you have to search for Truth and experience it. This you can achieve only if you rid your mind of all modifications and modulations. Let it be like the sky, which does not bear any mark, though millions of birds fly through it and thousands of planes move across it. Let your mind be unattached, untouched and unaffected. This is the spiritual discipline that will reveal the Reality and ensure you both physical and mental equanimity.

Yesterday's thought
