actually, I was fairly positive that Crystal (who lives at Ann's house) was
going to be the new host. I don't think we're in need of a move yet.

You might want to ask at the next meeting.

I've got more coupons to give out for a discount on art stuff. They are for
October 1st-3rd and they give you an extra 20% off your entire purchase (even on
stuff that's already on sale!!)One is for Michaels and the other is for Aaron
Brothers.

Plus they come with 60% coupons, for both store, off custom framing. So if you
or your family have anything you want to spend the money on getting anything
done custom, that would be the time to do it. (You get the best deal on that at
Aaron Brothers, since their regular custom price is lower then most of Michaels'
sales.)

Again the coupons are valid for October 1-3 only. I only have 20 coupons, but I
can check to see if I can get more.

I should be getting off work in time to make it to this Thursday's meeting on
the 10th. I might be running late and only be able to stop off, but I can always
leave the coupons with Jason for the next meeting if any are left over.

BTW, this Sunday and Monday sept 6-7 is a 50% off coupon on one regular item at
Aaron Brothers. It might be out in Sunday's Sacramento Bee or available at
Aaronbrothers.com. (if not then I can see if my I can have some left at the
Aaron Brothers on Fairway in Roseville for people that say they are from SCCG.)
It's only valid on one regular priced item per person per day.

Seriously you guys, we have OVER 100 MEMBERS in the SCCG. I know only a handful
of those members actually attend the meetings, but I'd hate to think that my
being gone means the meetings will have to be canceled for the next four years.

I understand that being a host may sound like a big deal, but if anyone could at
least offer a place to meet for a few weeks -or even just one- it would help.
You don't have to do anything but provide space for people to sit. We usually
have about 20 members at a meeting. The meeting day and time can be changed if
need be- though I think we've all gotten use to Thursday nights. But that had
been to work around MY schedule, and you guys arn't me =).

If a few people are willing to volunteer we could even rotate the meeting
location/time monthly or something like that.

Or if you can't personally host a meeting, people are more than welcome to
suggest local places they think would make good meeting spots. [Comicbooks
shops, parks, outdoor cafes?]

Please PLEASE don't let this all fall on Jason's shoulders. He already has
enough on his plate [like running the art department for SacCon and SacAnime,
drawing comics for clients, drawing and writing his own comics, AND teaching art
students]. Come on guys, being part of the SCCG doesn't mean just hanging out
with friends, it means being an active part of the comic and art community. Do
your part <3

If the meeting day can be change to say... tuesday or wendsday or even saturday, I can hold the meeting in my backyard. It would be only for the nicer days, but I have over a half acre we can set out blankets.

Another idea (for the nicer days) is to have it at the Fair Oaks park, they have alot of shaded tables :)

I'm just sad I can't go to the meetings because of my Biopsychology class thursday evenings... So I guess I am hoping for a day change ;)

I can offer a place to have the meetings every once in a while, as it stands. My work doesn't offer me a set schedule, so its pretty all over the place for my days off. For example, if you need a meeting place for next week (Sept 17th), I'd be happy to host because I have the day off. *shrug* There should be enough room and seating.

Ann has been the most fantastic host for a long time, but she's going to be leaving for Japan soon.
That means someone else will need to volunteer their place or suggest a good public spot, or else we won't be able to hold our meetings any more.

As an organized group, we should probably start giving this topic some serious thought pretty soon.

i know that A-1 comics has a big spot. there located on auburn. also i know that lazer x is a really good spot, and that is located on country club lanes on watt ave. there is also a really big park with allot of seating and shade on Fulton and then there is another one on Howe avenue. the one on Howe ave is allot bigger. its a really good spot with a wonderful pond seating and shade. i can look for more places. but i really do think that those are the best for this sort of thing. i am a member of the sccg. and i have been out of the loop for a long time because of health complications. but now I'm back. and boy dose it feel so good to be back.

Once upon a time when Anne was - alas - unavailabe, we had a meeting at Star
Cafe across the street from the Sunrise Mall. It's a great place - and they
seemed happy to have us there. It's also nearby the current location and we
could basically meet there... whenever. The food, alas, not so free as it has
been so graciously provided to us at Anne's, but it is QUITE tasty.

How is the ultimate decision on a new location going to be made? Do we have a
committee?

A committee or a vote would be good. Also, I think that we need to figure out
where everyone lives and find a nice middle point. We can do that on Thursday.

Howdy everybody! Searnold here. I just did a MAJOR OVERHAUL of my website,
http://www.SuperSearnold.com. You can now read every single script I've ever
written (18, for a total of 414 pages), as well as "Behind The Hero - Episode 01
- Speedee" and "The Best Mini-Comic You'll Ever Read" in their entirety.
I also made it cleaner and prettier.
The next step (which should go live on 10-01-09) is an e-mail campaign. If you
want to get Super Searnold updates, you should go to the site and sign up for
the e-mail list.
That is all. Thanks for all of your support! Let me know what you think of the
new site. :-)

Near as I can tell, nobody has mentioned this to the group proper. This
Thursday we'll be meeting at the food court in the Sunrise Mall at the regular
time, 7o'clock in the PM. Hope to see you all there!
