Welcome to Sacramento Birds.

Sacramento Birds is dedicated to helping new or casual Sacramento birders identify birds that they have seen, and bringing "unusual to you" bird sightings to the attention of Sacramento birders. Postings should be about birds & bird sightings in the Sacramento region which includes, but is not limited to, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo, Placer, Nevada, Yuba and El Dorado Counties.

The list is partially moderated: members who have a demonstrated track record of constructive participation will be granted privileges to post and respond directly to the list. Messages from new members will be moderated to ensure appropriate usage and integrity of the list. As a matter of comity and to help with ID questions, please identify yourself, at least by first name, and your city or community, when posting.

This forum is a collegial, non-political discussion group about birds and birding in the Sacramento region. Partisan politics, "flaming," or any other hostile behavior is not allowed. Postings unrelated to birds or birding may result in warnings, deletion of inappropriate messages, or banning from the group without warning, if viewed as necessary by the moderators of this list. Commercial advertising is prohibited. Spam will not be tolerated and spammers will be summarily banned from this group.

By default, replies will go to the entire Sacramento Birds list. If you wish to privately respond to a message, please change the "TO" line to the address of the email sender. If you choose to receive your messages by Digest, please reply to individual messages by changing the Subject to match that of the individual e-mail. This helps to keep responses on topic and makes it easier to follow a thread/topic.
