This Group is dedicated to the sharing of knowledge about the ancestors and descendants of George Gilman Rushby and Eleanor Dunbar Leslie..
George Rushby was an explorer, elephant hunter, prospector, coffee farmer, husband and father in Tanganyika in the early and mid part of the last century. He became the Senior Game Ranger for Tanganyika and was responsible for the control of the Njombe man-eating lions. His wife, Eleanor Dunbar Leslie, left the comfort of her home in Cape Town to lead an adventurous and often dangerous life in isolated parts of what was then a primitive country. This is their story, but it is also the story of their ancestors who lived the most interesting lives, and came from different parts of the world. Life is a journey. Where our first ancestors began we will never know, nor will we know where the journey of our successors will end. But knowledge of the past may help enrich our future.
Probably the best place to start is by going to 'Photos' . There you will find all the photos, and most of the primary information, in separate folders.
For more in-depth documentation you are invited to search 'Files"
