Rubymoms is a small, closeknit, group of married, christian, stay at home mom's who like to chat via email. And we like to chat a LOT. :-) Primarily we are mom's of older children. Many of us are dealing with the issues of being a stay at home mom (or now working very, very part time occassionally) when the children are no longer at home all day. More of us have teen agers than toddlers at this point. :-)
We're high volume, but mostly short conversational emails that are quick to read. We share our to do lists, our menu plans, our home keeping goals.. and also our scrapbook layouts, our crafts, our thoughts, and lots and lots of photos. We really encourage pics here, it's a great way to get to know one another!
******We now use googlegroups as well as yahoogroups, interchangeabley depending on which is working better that day, so the numbers you see here for email volume are only about half the emails we generate.*****
We are an organizational homekeeping list, but we are not an on topic list. Our discussions are varied. :-) We do NOT tolerate lurkers, and we go beyond that to requiring active participation in conversations and sharing about what you are up to each day. This is not a list for those who can only check their email once a day, you simply would not be able to keep up.
Most of us love crafts - scrapbooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing.. and we love to share them. Pics are a big part of this list! We also share our recipes, our meal plans, our daily to do lists, and our thoughts on just about everything. It can be overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of how we chat, it's pretty quick to read through.
We strongly recommend outlook express. We do not accept yahoo or AOL, nor incredimail users. Those programs simply do not do well with the volume and content of our list.
