India's most effective e-group for Indian RTI - Right to Information issues under the 2005 National RTI Act. Our Primary Purpose is to Promote, Practice and Propagate "RESPONSIBLE RTI" as defined by group consensus.

This publicly accessible (and essentially uncensored) group is a facility of convenience, and archives private email messages circulated amongst members concerning RTI ACT and decisions of various Information Commissions. Important topics discussed are : Case Law / "DIS-information" ie, Denial of Information Strategies / Information Extraction techniques etc. AND related topics such as Information Technology, ICT, IT ACT, E-governance.

Membership is usually by invitations ACCEPTED BY RTI experts, PIOs, Appellates interested in keeping abreast of this dynamic field.

Members require a Yahoo ID to access all facilities (such as voting in polls). To protect your identity, choose a nondescript Yahoo ID + email address. You can also subscribe via the "mailing list only" option with a non-yahoo email address.

The moderator of the group is Sarbajit Roy, with "India Public Servant" as Co-Moderator. Incidentally, Sarbajit filed India's first RTI request, India's first RTI appeal and India's first RTI Complaint under this new Central RTI law.
