Doug,

The question is not "if" we will survive, but to what degree we will thrive.
I believe we will at least eek out our survival, no matter how miniscule our
financial resources may be. The purpose of the present discussion is to
come up with a reasonable way to provide a reasonable degree of funding. In
my opinion, the shared loan is a good way to spread out the start-up cost so
that we can have at least one person working full-time to promote this
organization and develop the websites accordingly to supplement its growth.
For now, you have voted for me to be that person.

As for a specific budget, that can be worked out on the rs_treasurer list
(treasurer committee).

[STERLING'S REPLY: The salary I propose is the 30,000 which includes
expenses, and (from it) could include reimbursement of a few other
individuals who end up spending quite a bit of time toward RSICC and need
financial compensation, such as translators and such. I do have other
sources of income and donations, though they are small, and I do spend
energy toward other projects besides just RSICC. The number 30,000 is what
comes to mind. Of all my projects, I consider RSICC by far the most
significant, and is the culmination of all the work I have done hitherto. I
consider RSICC to be my primary 'occupation,' if I might use that word.]

Doug:

Only $30,000? That is more than fair. Now... let's put together a detailed
expemnse budget for the next six months... this is the very critical time to
see IF this organization can survive and grow. OK?
