Refugee Rights Action Network is a community coalition in Perth, Western Australia campaigning for the rights of refugees and in opposition to Austrlaia's policies of mandatory detention and treatment of asylum seekers and refugees.
The aim of RRAN is to build a broad community campaign to:
1. Close Christmas Island detention centre and process all arrivals on the Australian mainland in the community.
2. Dramatically increase the annual refugee intake with provisions for a more flexible system in order to respond to international crises.
3. Cease utilising overseas countries to “warehouse” people exercising their right to seek asylum. Instead allow people to make protection applications from overseas.
4. We further call upon the government to publicly declare there will be no consideration of a re-introduction of the dreaded Temporary Protection Visas.
