The main focus of this group is to help parents in Rowan county, NC deal with the many difficulties of raising children
substance abuse free in these tumultuous times.
This organization is non-sectarian and non-politically based. The potential advantages are:
-It could help parents deal with the immediate concerns of a child who is abusing substances.
-It could serve as an alert to parents and other people in the community to particular activities or locations where
substance abuse is a known problem.
-Other possibilities include providing a forum in which public policy favorable for parents can be developed and pushed.
This group is a sub-committee of Allies for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP)a Rowan county coalition. Two other
sub-committees are directed at the medical establishment and government and law enforcement.
We beleive that substance abuse can be reduced but it will require a sustained community wide effort to do so. We hope
you will join us in these efforts as the life of a child we save maybe one of your own.
