The Rose Theatre is a non-profit community theatre located in Bastrop, Louisiana.
Built in 1927, the Rose Theatre was restored by the Cotton Country Players in the mid 1980s. In its history, the theatre has been home to vaudeville acts, silent movies, "talkies"--black/white and colorized, and stage plays.
The regular season consists of four productions which begin in the Fall of each year. Summertime allows us to offer SummerStars, which is for younger children, and YOUtheatre, which is for jr. high and high school students.
Programs of the Rose Theatre are supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council. Additional support is provided through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Southern Arts Federation and the Louisiana Division of the Arts.
