I AM WAITING ON SOME OF YOU TO CONTACT ME, I WOULD
ENJOY TALKING ABOUT MY
FIRST NOVEL, AND I AM WORKING ON THE SECOND AND THIRD ONE AS WELL. SEND
ME AN
E-MAIL AT heavycruiser007@...
Nice meeting you, I'm from Arkansas, though I've
lived all over the USA. I like CA. AR. AZ. & Fl.
I
have a writer friend who lives in Canada, as well as
London. Nice meeting all of you.

Brenda Tredway
I have found that people in my life don't take my
writing romance fiction a serious, but have now decided I
don't give a crap what other's think. Just look at it
this way, when your published your boyfriend will no
longer be laughing, you will be. And then tell him if he
wants to share in the wealth to go write a book.
HA!

Brenda Tredway
Shalon, is there a certain place on this board
where you can post your work for feedback? I would
really like to participate in this. I'm glad you started
this writing club I plan to visit often. Brenda
Tredway
My name is Brenda Tredway, and I'm not sure where
to post this, but I'm new here. I love writing
romance novels. The current one I'm working on now is
almost finished, well I hope it is anyway. I keep
finding something that needs changing, but it's coming
along really great. Hope to meet some writers here.

There seem to be about 8 people that joined, but
only two have introduced themselves. What are you all
writing? I'm writing a romantic suspense set an an island
in the South Pacific. I've been working on this book
for quite some time but have only reached chapter
five in my writing. I have a huge problem with going
back and re-writing. I've managed to go a couple of
months without and serious re-writes, but it's sooo
hard. Anyway I'd like to know what everyone else is
writing and what they find is the hardest part of
writing.

Shalon
I'm in Los Angeles so i'm in Pacific time like
you. I don't have specific times, but mostly early
morning between 5 and 10. Then in the afternoon/early
evening. anywhere between 3pm and 7pm. Depends on my
husband and if he's using the computer.

Lizbet
What time are you usually online? I would like to talk with you thru instant
messenger sometime? Please give the time zone also as here in California it is
earlier than your time zone.

Deb
LOL that's what i meant. My aunt use to talk that
way to her daughter. Go figure she was raised in
French and married an English man. But she use to tell
my cousin va chercher ton shoe. In other words go
get your shoe. If she would have told me that, i
would have brought her cabage :-)

Lizbet
Canadian culture isn't that far from American.
The only differences are with foods that i could find
back home and i can't here. Plus in Montreal being
bilingual means French/English, where as here it's
English/Spanish. So those little things make it different, but i'm
not totally lost :-) well at least I don't think so.
LOL

Lizbet
Ya, in some part of New Brunswick, mostly up north, they speak both, and often
in the same sentence though. I just speak plain old english
though.

Shalon
I'm originally from Montreal Quebec. I've been to
New Brunswick many years ago. I was in Fairvale for
about three weeks 14 years ago. I had to stop in
Fredericton for a couple of hours on my way. It was strange
hearing the French and English mixed
together.

Lizbet
The two of yousound interesting. As for me I have
lived in San Diego all my life. But my husband and I
hope to move to either Arizona or Nevada in the next
few years when his job permits. Housing is outrageous
here in S.D. CA
Deb-storiesbydc
Must be interesting to be from another country.
Has combining the two cultures of the two countries
played a part in your novels? At the present time I am
concentrating more on trying to sell short stories to magazines
and then will start a novel.
Deb-storiesbydc
No i haven't looked yet. Since i'm married to an
American but am Canadian. I don't have permission right
now to work in the US at this moment. So i'm writing
and will be ready when the time comes.

Lizbet
Sounds like you are on a roll. Have you started
looking around for an agent yet? I have a neighbor who is
a published horror author and he has helped me get
started and given me pointers in the writing field.Hope
to talk with you more in the
future.
Deb--storiesbydc
Thanks for the welcome. I liked your club because
it is small. I have a few ideas for a book, haven't
decided which one to use. I am presently taking a writing
course thru Writer's Digest. I figure anything that will
help me get published is worth it.
storiesbydc
I've finish the rough draft of the first one, and
have already started a second one (i'm at chapter 3)
While i'm revising the first draft of number
1.

Both are very different in nature. The first deals
with true love i guess you could say. Though
decisions. The second is simply pure attraction. When the
Heroine is approached by a Homicide Detective. They can't
keep their eyes or hands off each other.

Lizbet
Hi! Welcome to the group. Things are just
starting to get rolling here, but in no time I hope
they'll be dozens of members. For now though we'll just
have to be happy with the few of us there are. Have
your already got an idea about what you want your
first book to be about?
Hi, I just joined your club. I haven't written a
romance novel yet but plan to start one in the near
future plus I plan to write some romance short stories
to submit to various magazines. i just wanted to
give you a little background on me.
I have instant
messenger so please look for me whenever I am online.
Now that I have your attention...My boyfriend has
always hassled me about reading and writing romance. He
often jokes that I should write a "real" book. Even
when I tell him that over 50% of novels published are
romance, he just laughs. I've often wonder what draws me
to these types of books. It makes sense that since I
enjoy reading them, I should write them. But why do I
read them? Although my boyfriend says I just get
filled with "unrealistic expectations", I don't think I
do. If I wanted a realistic book, I read non-fiction.
We all watch movies where things can hardly be
called realistic, why should reading be any different.
What's the difference between watching some far fetched
action sequence in a movie and reading about a man that
is actually romantic a lot of the time? Anyway I
read them because they are what I react to the most.
They make me laugh, cry, scream in frustration,
sometimes all at the same time:) I can't really explain it
more than that. Why do you read them?
As I'm sure you know, it takes more than one person to run this type of message
board. Please feel sorry for me since I'm all alone :( and take a minute and say
hi.
Hi. If you're reading this it's probably because
we share a passion for writing. Aside from my goal
of completing my novel, I hope to encourage other
writers out there to follow their hearts.
This club
is meant to give you a place to: rant about that
character that just isn't transferring well to the written
page, share ideas and tips on stregthening writing,
support others when life gets in the way of writing, and
an opportunity to post samples of your work for
feedback.
I hope you all learn something each time you
stop by. Best of luck with your writing whether you
choose to join this club or not.

Shalon
