This group is for people who have a genuine interest in the discussion and study of the romance comic book genre. Romance comics means those comic books, beginning with Young Romance 1 published in 1947 and ending with the demise of the genre in the early 1980s, that tell stories with romantic themes, the admittedly often cheesy yet fascinating romance comics that offer a window into the changing social conventions of the third quarter of the twentieth century. Topics for discussion could include the artists whose work appears in these comics, issues or aspects of romance around which the stories are woven, the history of the genre, members' appreciations of the comics, or anything else relevant to the topic of romance comics, such as the ways in which romance comics reflect the attitudes and social mores of the times in which they were published. It probably goes without saying that defamatory remarks and inappropriate language should be avoided at all times, as a matter of good etiquette and because some members may be minors. A mood of friendly discourse should prevail.
