Semana Santa -- Easter holy week -- surpassed all expectations for
the State of Sonora. Spring Break in Rocky Point had less visitors
this year because many students were confused about passport
requirements for travel to Mexico. But Penasco made it up during
Semana Santa, according to the Commission of Promotion to the Tourism
of the State (Cofetur). They projected that our little town had more
than 192,000 visitors! The population of Rocky Point is approximately
60,000!
