Welcome to the Rocket Robin Hood group! "Rocket Robin Hood" (RRH) was a 30-minute cartoon show devised in 1966 by Trillium Productions of Toronto, Canada. New episodes were shown until 1969, and re-runs were regularly presented up to 1984. Teletoon acquired some episodes of RRH in 2004 and made further acquisitions in 2005.

The RRH universe was set in AD 3000. It was filled with terraformed asteroids and planets, some of which supported bizarre villains. Billed as Robin's arch-enemy was Prince John. He was the tyrannical ruler of NOTT (National Outer-space Terrestrial Territories); his ruthless ambition made him a threat to the Solar System.

But the bad guys were constantly foiled by Robin and his Merry Men, whose adventures aimed for a blend of cheer and suspense. The humor in most 1st and early 2nd-year episodes set RRH apart from many other adventure cartoons of the 1960s. Late in the 2nd year, Ralph Bakshi overhauled RRH, creating a more suspenseful atmosphere as he imposed his vivid imagination on the designs and stories. Soon after, he moved the animation department out of Toronto and did the last season's RRH episodes at his New York City studio.
