RKNEWS Comment:  The news is that the News is just entertainment. Worse, most of us don't have time to dig out the real goings-on and even then are limited to those things most likely to change our lives.  Today, what you don't hear from the regular news sources is REALLY likely to change your life -- and not for the better!

On the Israelinsight.com site there are links to several people who are trying to provide  unreported information that is crucial concerning US activities in the Middle East.  If the US administration succeeds in all they intend to do, it is quite likely the the Middle East will find itself at war, one much wider than we've seen over the last few years -- and Israel might find itself fighting with inferior equipment against the latest technologies the US could provide in the hands of the enemy.

We need to all open our eyes to the preparatory manipulation going on behind the reported News Headlines.

Below are some links to significant articles:

In UK Spectator, Melanie Phillips wrote in her article Obama Prepares to Throw Israel Under the Bus as follows:

This is shaping up to be the biggest crisis in relations between Israel and America since the foundation of Israel six decades ago. Those who hate Israel and the Jews will be gloating. This after all is precisely what they hoped Obama would do. To any decent person looking on aghast, this is where the moral sickness of the west reaches the critical care ward.

In Obama's Plan to Destroy Israel Daniel Green described Obama's process of taking over  the Jewish Lobby:

While outwardly courting Jews, Obama's people have also been quietly shoving Jewish organizations and their leaders into a corner. Within the Jewish organizational world there has been a silent but deadly takeover of major Jewish groups by left wing radicals. Former alumni of the far left wing and anti-Israel groups like Breira or Coname in the 70's have been elevated to key positions in such organizations as the UJA Federation. Behind the scenes any Jewish leaders who expressed even doubts about Obama during the primaries were intimidated and silenced. <more>

Caroline Glick states in her Jerusalem Post Column Obama's Green Light to Attack Iran, as follows:

According to Haaretz, Jones was quoted in a classified foreign ministry cable as having told his European interlocutor, "The new administration will convince Israel to compromise on the Palestinian question. We will not push Israel under the wheels of a bus, but we will be more forceful toward Israel than we have been under Bush."

As far as Jones is concerned, Israel should be left out of those discussions and simply presented with a fait accompli that it will be compelled to accept.

An Israeli View on the News

RKNEWS: Why is the cause of the US economic crisis of importance to Israel?  Is it important whether it was precipitated by an external attack on September 11th, 2008 or by greed on Wall Street?  Details and conclusions are found below.

Given the current situation, what are the actual and potential consequences for Israel, economically, socially and politically?

  • Israel's economic stability:  Due to sufficient regulation and a healthy growing economy, the impact has not been as great as that seen in Iceland, Spain, France, Britain, and other countries. Recent statistics show that unemployment jumped 14% in January. In a small country with a strained safety net for the poor and a looming budget deficit due to war costs and already reduced tax revenues, reduced export income is already evident and will undoubtedly decrease further.

  • Election of Barak Obama: According to now-President Obama himself, he will change the face of America. His familial, social and political leanings, his `mis'statements during the presidential campaign, information from his own books and activities during his community service in Chicago demonstrate that the new face will be in favor of satisfying Palestinian demands. He has stated that he is in favor of Land for Peace and his first orders and his first public interview (for Muslim media) was certainly pro-Islamic.

  • Antisemitism abroad:  We already see a significant increase in anti-Jewish demonstrations in Europe and the US, especially. Historically, the Jews have always been held to be responsible for any economic collapse. It doesn't matter how many non-Jews are involved, they are not highest on the list for the general public to blame.  It doesn't help that Madof, the most corrupt financier of all, cheated more Jews than anyone else. He himself is a Jew. And that is sufficient to trigger antisemitism against all Jews, rich or poor.

  • Increased immigration to Israel: The antisemitism, financial instability, and social discomfort along with the more anti-Israel stance of the media and government in other countries will likely inspire a significant increase in the number of Jewish immigrants to Israel. While this is desirable and an overall plus for Israel, if concentrated within a limited time frame, it will stress Israel socially and economically as it struggles to absorb the newcomers. It will require wise and early planning to ensure success.

  • Increased danger to Israel's existence: The changed approach to the Iranian threat (which includes Iranian military and financial support for Hamas and Hezbollah), creates existential danger to Israel already in 2009-10.  Some intelligence sources are writing that with the successful launch of the Iranian spy satellite, not only is the bomb ready, so is the delivery system. This threat is exponentially increased by the ascendancy of Obama in the US. He will provide a strong boost for the left in Europe and for Islamic groups in Asia and Africa, as well.

THE ECONOMIC ATTACK OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2008

Rep. Paul Kanjorsky (Dem-PA), Capital Markets Subcommitte Chair,  on C-Span's Washington Journal program recently announced the existence of an electronic run on money market funds in the US banking system and a blocking action taken by the Feds. He was informed when Treasure Secretary Paulson and  Fed Chairman Bernanke held a meeting with some member of congress on Monday the 15th.  At that time Lehman Brothers was collapsing and Wall Street was already in crisis.  When it was reported it seemed to be implied that the source of the transfers was typical US investors in money market accounts. It is possible that this issue was deliberately obscured not addressed further. Why? For security reasons? To prevent panic? It certainly explains a white-faced Bush addressing the nation shortly thereafter and the emphasis on the need for immediate action!

Watch this recent video of the C-Span interview. This is the announcement which states the real cause of the sudden world financial crisis.

Listen carefully:

$550 Billion Dollar Bank Run - Collapse Of The Entire World Economy In 24 hours

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xKPcyvlfnc

Text:

Look, I was there those days when the Secretary and the Chairman of the Federal Reserve came and talked with members of Congress about what was going on. It was about September 15th.  Here's the facts (and we don't even talk about these things.)   On Thursday [RKNEWS: 11th Sept.] at about 11 o'clock in the morning the Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous draw down of, uh, money market accounts in the United States to the tune of $550-billion was being drawn out in in a matter of an hour or two.

The Treasury opened up its window to help, and pumped in $105-billion into the system, and quickly realized it could not stem the tide. We were having an electronic run on the banks. They decided to close down the operation, to close down the money accounts. … If they had not done that, in their estimation, by 2 PM that afternoon $5.5-trillion would have been withdrawn and would have collapsed the U.S. economy and within 24 hours the world economy would have collapsed.

We talked at that time about what would have happened. It would have been the end of our economic and our political system as we know it.

This information was only recently on C-Span and is only now being publicized by the bloggers (some of whom got the dates confused).  The reaction of the general public would have been absolutely different had they known from the beginning that the US was under attack. Apparently some in Congress did,  which is why money was immediately approved with no strings attached.  Who decided to withhold the information?

It's important to understand exactly what he said to avoid confusion. The pauses are important. He said that Congress was informed on about the 15th. That was Monday The draw down occurred on the previous Thursday, the 11th.  This means that the action described occurred on Thursday, 11 Sept. 2008. By the time the US Federal Reserve  noticed, US$500,000,000,000 (yes, billion) had been taken out. They halted trading a short time later, after pumping in 105 billion dollars in an attempt to forestall a crash. It was clearly not sufficient to cover the withdrawals, so probably at least by noon, they blocked the electronic withdrawals. The estimate was that otherwise 5.5 trillion dollars would be withdrawn by 2 pm.

This really must mean that the money went somewhere else: off-shore?  to secret accounts? The perpetrators and their accounts most certainly must have been documented and identified by our banking system/government.

Who has that much money in money market accounts? Countries? International Corporations? Organizations?  Terrorists? It wouldn't seem that American companies were guilty. Whoever was doing this obviously couldn't be quickly and easily intimidated into cessation of activity.

The conclusion of RKNEWS is that this was an attack and was either

  • limited in intent to crippling the US economy, knowing other countries would also be crippled (succeeded);

  • intended to increase the odds of Obama being elected, to achieve the economic and social structural changes he would enact (succeeded);

    OR

  • an attempt to destroy the entire world economic structure (blocked, failed so far). However, the potential for total chaos remains, depending on the skill of world leaders to reverse the damage.

The G7 leaders along with other invited participants and observers came to Washington immediately after the public announcement to meet with Bush and other officials. There were several who suggested building a new central globally-controlled economy.  Who would that benefit?

Prior to 11 Sept 2008 we were informed that threats from Al Qaeda were at full bore.  There are of course nations as well as organizations that could benefit from a partial hit on the US economy. That was the reason that Al Qaeda chose the financial center of New York for the first 9/11 attack. Saudi Arabia, Russia, China, Venezuela, and Iran, among others, would like to see US power diminished. The attack could have come from anyone with the means and the intent to change international political systems and controls.

In ignorance of the facts, given Bush's uncharacteristic behavior during the announcement and in support of throwing enormous sums of money at the banking system, some have even accused Bush of staging the crisis to 'throw the election' to Obama, and McCain of being foolish in his return Washington. One only has to see the demeanor of those making the crisis announcement to the American public to see that this was no less an emergency that the first September 11th attack.

A question:  What has been done to prevent a new 'electronic run on the banks' by those with malicious intent to destroy the US?

Side note:  It is interesting that Obama's reported response to the emergency  was 'call me if you need me' and 'tell me what needs to be done and I'll sell it' -- the response of an empty suit, of a front-man. The more we watch him and his inconsistencies (especially off-prompter), we wonder who is 'managing' him.

This is what we know so far.  There will undoubtedly be more information forthcoming on this!  RKNEWS

An Israeli View of the News

RKNEWS COMMENT:  While the Israeli Military and Political command must always take account of the various likely outcomes of military actions, instead of letting the resulting assessment stymie the defense of the country, they should analyze how to appropriately and effectively disable the ability of the Hamas war machine to initiate or respond to military action.

Unless Israel is willing to fight to that end, the lives of many will be shed in vain.  When the officers or government ministers are quoted as saying that they do NOT expect to destroy the military infrastructure in Gaza, but only to diminish it, they are indeed planning the next war, and the next war, ad infinitum.  Meanwhile, the mini-action apparently being planned will be like a slap in the face to Hamas, a slap which will only be a 'public humiliation' and a challenge to try harder next time. It will not instill respect. It will increase and justify their hatred.

Meanwhile, they are fighting a war with varied and successful strategies, while we are fighting brief and limited 'actions'. They are the initiators, the instigators, and we are the responders. They are successfully manipulating Israel to achieve their ends. They play us for the fool.....are they right?

No one in a normal civilized society likes war and certainly no parent wants to lose a child in battle, but is it less painful to lose a child in continous, year after year, escalating attacks on our homes, synagogues and businesses. Is it less painful to lose a child running from the enemy that from facing him?  Where is our dignity? Where is our honesty and integrity?  Why will sons and daughter be lost senselessly as they have been in Gaza and Lebanon, year after year,  when we know that each time we give them a more years to build an even stronger military to use against us? And when we know that the armaments are spreading the heartland of our country shall we give them more leeway?

Are the Israeli and the Western leaders of this generation psychologically challenged (as we  too kindly say today)? Are they unable to see and experience reality? Are they unable to see cause and effect? to rightly judge human nature?  Have they ever learned history in any kind of objective way?

They take careless decisions, costing the lives of the innocent, and seem to feel no regret for the consequences to others......and this is to speak of their own people, neighbors, citizens. They care more for popularity than for good character. Now is good enough for them. Tomorrow is someone else's problem.

But we too share in the guilt. We are so self-involved in our everyday lifes, in creature comfort, family and personal success, that we allow them take over, we leave it to them, so to speak. We don't watch them, challenge them and, if necessary, remove them.  We seem to think that we have a good chance of  coming through unscathed. We should have forced a different government immediately after the Lebanon war....if not before. And we should have weighed very carefully the character of those we voted for LONG BEFORE they were gained power.

So, if we blame only the criminals for succeeding in their climb to the top, we indeed lie to ourselves as well.

Gaza clash impending – Israel air strikes versus Palestinian long-range missiles

December 24, 2008, 10:43 PM (GMT+02:00) DEBKAfile Exclusive Report  shows that Hamas has a potential of upping the daily barrage of rockets and mortars by 3 or 3, with up to

"200 missiles a day, on a par with Hizballah's barrage against Galilee in the 2006 Lebanon war, with devastating consequences in casualties and damage to property.

"They can reach an area far broader than the strip taking hits from Gaza Wednesday which was delimited by Ashkelon to the north and Netivot to the east. Therefore an outer rim of 30 locations 30 km distant from the Palestinian enclave has now been connected to the Homeland Command's early warning system, including Kiryat Gath, Kiryat Malachi, the Lachish Region and Ashdod. Homeland Command operations units have been deployed there too, together with emergency medical, firefighting and rescue teams. Magen David Adom is on top terror preparedness with 200 ambulances on standby in southwestern Israel."

-----------

"However, field officers in the South are less optimistic. They told DEBKAfile's sources that they don't believe half-wars are a practical option. "

-----------

"Cairo has broken the embargo on the Gaza Strip by inviting any government wishing to send aid to the Palestinian population to send it via Egyptian territory."

An Israeli View of the News

RKNEWS:  Until the official story comes out following India's investigation, we cannot know for sure who planned and carried out this evil. Even then, it will be colored by political views and goals. What we do know is the results:  sudden death, injury, blood and gore of 100's left behind to testify of their inhumanity and insane hatred.

Americans, Brits, Israelis and other westerners in the hotels were terrified, but at least those who were not in the lobby or caught in open areas had somewhere to run, somewhere to hide. The Indian hotel workers gave them a heads up and instructions that undoubtedly saved innumerable lives.

However, Jews in the Chabad center had nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.  Except for the miraculous escape of the nanny with the baby, there was no way out.  Two women were slaughtered almost immediately. The rabbi was able somehow to cover his wife's body with a tallit (prayer shawl) before he too was murdered.

The larger target of this atrocity was non-Muslim India, but the means of making the strongest statement was the summary execution of Jews, Israelis, Americans, British, and any other westerners within range. This is the threat to the whole world.

" ….21-year-old Azam Amir Kasav began to kill. He and the terror cell's leader began their attacks at the city's Chhatrapati Shivaji rail station. ….During two days of questioning, Kashmiri-born Kasav, who used the alias Ajmal Kasab, told police: 'I have no regrets'. He is said to have told officers the cell was to seek out 'white targets, preferably British and American'."  Daily Mail - UK

American, Europe: WAKE UP!  This is no less a critical warning than 9/11 was in the US ... or the message to Spain, the Madrid slaughter, after which Spain capitulated.  (They should be reminded that one of the cornerstones of Jihad is to take back `conquered Spain' from the Infidels.).

In France, Muslim youth burned and looted in the cities to impose their will.  Britain has suffered massive attacks and thwarted others, even as their legal system begins to acquiesce to Muslim Law.

In America it is amazing that today so many African-Americans think they are `returning' to their native religion of Islam, when actually their ancestors were converted to Islam at the point of a sword.  It is a bitter irony of history that some of them are honoring their hard-won freedom from generations of physical slavery by `returning' to their ancestors' spiritual slavery under Islam.

On Wall Street, courses in Islamic Finance are being attended by people who have the power to impose unbelievable changes on the western economic system.

Meanwhile, Spain, France, Germany, Britain, Norway, Holland, Eastern Europe, etc., all are flooded with Muslim  immigrants, buying up land, building mosques and demanding changes in the schools, courts, and social mores.  To the glee of the Jihadists, it is money from the west that is funding much of the terror-filled Jihad against themselves. A current example:

"A banned Islamic terrorist group funded with cash raised in British mosques is believed to be behind the Mumbai attacks."  Daily Mail-UK

The American organization found guilty of funding Hamas is the "Holy Land Foundation" and CAIR has been implicated in cooperation with them.  Amazingly, the Clinton's government in the US along with NATO came down on the side of the Muslims in Kosovo. The results of this decision are world-changing in terms of encouraging Jihad.

See:

An Opening for the The Islamic Jihad in Europe; The Islamic Conquest and Islamization by  G. Richard Jansen, Colorado State University Savage-Productions

"In the eyes of Islam, this image of the West, weak and contemptuous, will intensify once Kosovo becomes recognized as the third Muslim state of Europe because it will represent a thorough capitulation of the Western civilization in a small European province that has eradicated every trace of Christianity and,  at that, eradicated [it] with the help of countries which claim to be Christian……"  Miroljub Jevtic, Ph.D  Serbianna

This ought to enlighten those who believe the excuse that it is only the Israeli/Palestinian conflict the terrorists  seek to avenge.  Muslim's hatred for Jews comes from Mohammed himself who ordered the slaughter of neighboring Jews who refused to convert to his religion and  refused to verify that his distorted `bible' was the true one. That was only the beginning of global Jihad, an Islamic crusade of terror against all infidels everywhere which will only cease if there is worldwide domination by and submission to Islam.

Free western peoples fail to grasp that it is THEY and the continued existence of their way of life that is threatened, not only that of  `others':  Jews, Christians, Hindus, and Asians, etc.

RKNEWS COMMENT:  It has begun.  The claims against Obama's policies as revealed by his selection of extremist top advisors,

·        close friendships and life-long connections with socialists, communists, black-liberationists,

·        collaboration with criminals

·        knowing involvement and financial support of groups perpetrating voter fraud,

·        intimate relationship with pro-Islam, anti-Israel activists at home and abroad,

·        support for at least one murderous agitator in the 3rd world,

all once disputed by his campaign as insignificant or even slanderous lies, are now revealed as true.

Undercover, Obama's reps, if not himself!, met with Hamas and Hezbollah, among others.  Promises were given on condition they be kept secret until after the election. The PA's Abbas almost spilled the beans when he revealed Obama's offers on Nov. 4th, mid-election, forgetting that Israel is so far ahead on the clock that he could be influencing the US election. Obama's camp was quick to distance itself, obviously.

`It is notable that six months ago the Obama campaign and Malley hastily severed ties with one another after the Times of London reported that Malley had been meeting privately with Hamas leaders on a regular basis—something Obama had publicly pledged never to do. At the time, Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt minimized the significance of this monumentally embarrassing revelation, saying: "Rob Malley has, like hundreds of other experts, provided informal advice to the campaign in the past. He has no formal role in the campaign and he will not play any role in the future."'

Obama's choice of Rahm Emanuel who supports the giving away of half of Jerusalem and significant areas of Israel, who arranged the respectful reception and Oslo handshake for Arafat, has blinded the eyes of some who have short memories.  Often the worst enemy is one who claims to be a friend.

No longer must Obama be careful who his advisors are or what his opponents say. He will be president.

The damage Obama and his surrogates will do to Israel and to the cause of  'world peace' he claims to support is immeasureable.  He has already begun.

For one of his first 'resurrections' of a 'former' advisor, he has chosen, Robert Malley. Israel is the focus of his hatred and his personal target:

`History will record that Barack Obama's first act of diplomacy as America's president-elect took place two days after his election victory, when he dispatched his senior foreign-policy adviser, Robert Malley, to meet with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad—to outline for them the forthcoming administration's Mideast policy vis-a-vis those nations. An aide to Malley reports, "The tenor of the messages was that the Obama administration would take into greater account Egyptian and Syrian interests" than has President Bush. `

RKNEWS COMMENT:  Israel Television (Channel 10) is currently reporting a Syrian news sources claim that US military helicopters attacked a target in Syrian territory at 17:00 local time this evening.  There are claims of civilian deaths and that at least one helicopter landed and took off after clashing with persons in one building.  Efforts to validate the claim with American sources are underway.  The area is 8 -10 km inside Syria (Abu Kamal) near the Syrian-Iraqi border. The claim is made that al Qaeda forces were there. This is the first known US commando operation inside Syrian territory.

Abu Kamal, near Iraq, attacked; local residents say 8 dead, 5 wounded; no comment from US militaryJerusalem Post

In another report, Israeli sources earlier stated that a letter has been sent to Syria from the US promising improved relations and peace with Israel!

It is too early to tell whether recent high-level meetings involving State Department officials, including Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, and senior Syrian officials will lead to any breakthrough in relations. But Syria clearly hopes so.

The unexpected moves amount to "a tentative opening," Syria's ambassador to the United   States, Imad Moustapha, said in an interview with U.S. News. He interprets the contacts as perhaps reflecting an administration now disposed to "reconsider U.S. policies toward Syria."  USNews

There is also a claim that the strengthening of the Syrian forces along all the borders with Israel and Lebanon has been given the nod of approval of some US leaders.  Through Syria, Rice has been reported to have made contact with Hamas leaders as well. Interestingly, the article above claims that diplomatic agreements were being worked out between Lebanon and Syria:  It would appear, though, that a gun was being held to Lebanon's head!

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has relayed a message to Hamas political leader Khalid Meshaal. DEBKAfile's Middle East sources also reveal that on Oct.21, Syria completed its encircling deployment of Lebanon after an unacknowledged nod from the Bush administration. Four Syrian divisions are now massed on Lebanon's northern and eastern borders and opposite Israel's northern border positions. Debka-net-weekly (See deployment map    debka )

At the same time that Rice was congratulating Hamas, they were trying to kidnap additional Israeli soldiers.  A Hamas agent was caught after he infiltrated from Egypt a few weeks ago.   Jerusalem Post

In addition, it has been reported in Israeli papers that the US has said it will consider all negotiations that have been in progress, those concerning proposals by Abbas and the US (and perhaps Olmert/Livni) over "Land for Peace" terms, to be agreed to and therefore binding on future US AND Israeli governments, even though Israel has not officially approved any agreements.

Now US news sources are reporting that an advance team is preparing to restore diplomatic relations with Iran after 30 years without any pre-conditions!

 Jerusalem Post

WHAT IS GOING ON?

Above is only a small portion of the unnerving headlines being broadcast 'round the world. Rumors, reality? Where is the truth? Is much of this US activity being conducted in advance of an anticipated Obama victory?  Is the State Department moving forward on the assumption that Barak will want to open relations and negotiations with all of the enemies of Israel? US Sec'ry of State Rice seems to be especially active on this front.  Is it possible she is angling to keep her position under Obama or at least preparing the ground ahead for him?

With the interim government of Olmert closing down and the Israeli political parties preparing for an election (likely to only be held in Feb. 2009), there is sufficient time for all parties to determine the destiny of the Middle East. None of them have to fear repercussions from an angry electorate, not the US officials, not the Israeli, and certainly not the surrounding dictators who will do as they please for their own benefit as they prepare to realize their fantasies for certain victory.

Though Israel will be less affected by the international economic crisis, there is a projection of a slow-down and tightening of the markets for the coming year due to international business contracts, diminishing exports and foreign profits being impacted by world-wide recession and/or currency changes.  With all the individual corruption among Israeli leaders, it is certainly by God's grace that the Israeli financial system is itself indeed stable.  However, with world-wide attention diverted by their own economic problems, much political long-term harm can be done in the Middle East without the world's peoples becoming aware of resulting impending doom.

The challenge to Israel will be to maintain security with God's help during this time of national and international instability.

It should be clear to those who place hope and faith for the future in money, goods, or governments that it's time to review their value system both on a personal and national level, especially with regard to Israel -- and this includes Israelis!  In the words of Zechariah, a great prophet of Israel, it would be wise to consider what is written regarding attitudes and activities that touch upon Zion, Israel, Judea and, above all, Jerusalem. "I mean to make Jerusalem a stone to be lifted by all the peoples; all who try to lift it will hurt themselves severely." Zechariah 12: 1-5

An Israeli View of the News

RKNEWS COMMENT: Following are some comments on the US election that, like it or not, has a considerable impact on Israel's future!

WARNING:  This is not 'fair and balanced'.  I do not intend to give equal time to Obama's media machine. The main-stream media and Obama money is already providing their story and they do not give the 'other side' equal time!  I consider Obama a smooth talking front man at best and a Manchurian Candidate at worst. I therefore want to provide you with the 'other side' and some sources that contradict the propaganda of the left on television and the internet.

Watch the technique of the Obama ticket which is  1) first deny, 2)admit some knowledge, then 3)state that Obama NOW disagrees with the acquaintance or position in question. Obama lies, denies and distorts the truth instead of explaining his real ideology and his beliefs so that you can make an informed decision.

1.   It appears unquestionable that Obama by ideology is a socialist: "I want to spread the wealth around," he told a questioner.

Quotes:  "We've got to make sure that people who have more money help the people who have less money," Sen. Obama said. "If you had a whole pizza, and your friend had no pizza, would you give him a slice?"

"This is not an argument over giving away a slice of pizza. This is an argument about the morality of collectivism. When Senator Obama, and almost all other politicians, make their arguments for fairness and compassion, they are advocating not voluntary charitable giving, but government confiscation of some people's property for the benefit of other people, chosen by the government on the basis of need, or perhaps voting record."

Obama's socialist backing goes back at least to 1996, when he received the endorsement of the Chicago branch of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for an Illinois state senate seat.

 2.   The three Senators most culpable in the economic crash now resulting in nationalization and international control of banks are all Democrats with Obama in the thick of it, receiving the 2nd highest amount in donationss from the corrput CEO's of the mortgage banks. Check Bush's early warnings, McCain's early warnings and bill for regulation – blocked by the Democrats. Check the activities of the housing arm of ACORN -- in their own words  that were organized to force banks into making bad loans.

3.   Obama's current religion is not the question. Of supreme importance are his loyalties, past activities and mentors: Rev. Wright, Rezko,  Odinga  in Kenya, Farrakhan--Nation of Islam , Ayers  and his projects, the Annenberg education project , among many others.

4.   Why won't he supply a certified birth certificate and name of the hospital of record. Why does his family in Kenya testify that some were present at his birth  there and he was only 'registered' in Hawaii afterwards (resulting in the `certificate' on his website). Where does his Indonesian and Kenyan citizenship stand (He has held non-US passport(s).)  It is quite likely that he is not legally qualified for national office in America and is hiding it.

5.   Where does he really stand on Israel ? And who paid for Harvard? How did he get so rich (a $1,600,000 home?) Who paid for an around the world trip with a Pakistani friend while he was a student? Why did a Texas Muslim consultant for Saudi Arabia get him a recommendation for entrance to Harvard?

6.  Why does he deny his vote against a bill that would require medical care for a baby that survives a late-term abortion (instead of throwing it in the trash --LITERALLY).

Answers to these questions and more give us the only clue to who this person REALLY is and what he and the extreme left in the American Congress are planning for the US.  Socialist economic and extreme liberal social policies, restriction of conservative dissent, and international support for "liberation theology" 3rd world politicians such as Odinga are almost sure bets. In my opinion, Hamas, Fatah and pro-Palestinian politicians will also be welcome in the White House.

These are only a few unanswered questions, facts, and links concerning Obama.  Do your own searches and don't just accept the left's denials.  You will find an abundance of leftist support on the Internet due to his major drive to influence college students and new voters as a 'rock star'.  Look for sources and facts wherever you can.

I don't have to provide information about McCain and Palin, as they have been investigated thoroughly by main-stream media with a mostly negative slant.  However, you can find the facts quite easily. Their records are open, unlike Obama's.

The American election this year may change the face of the world as we know it. Don't be deceived, be informed, vote correctly (those who can), pray for God's mercy on an undeserving world, and pray for His protection of Israel.

RKNEWS COMMENT:  A few days ago Syria moved significant forces to the border with Northern Lebanon.  The Lebanese government notified the US that a terror attack was planned that Syria would use as an excuse for invading Lebanon.   Remember: Russia has a nuclear cruiser coming into the port in Northern Lebanon, this evening, Yom Kippur Evening.

Russia has obviously been threatening the US and the West by flexing it's military muscle in ways calculated to cause nervousness.   Recently it conducted military air exercises near the Alaskan border. After Lebanon, Venezuela is next on the list.

The Syrians have taken advantage of the situation to move tanks to the Israeli border yesterday.  It is also important to note that North Korea's recent renewal of it's nuclear weapon activities are once again being concentrated in Syria. The Russian anti-aircraft radar did not prevent the Israeli strike last time, so it is being made obvious that Russian cover will now be more aggressive.

It doesn't seem coincidental that this is  aligned with a "sudden" economic crash. Many warned of it's coming, but we all seem to be adept at ignoring warnings in our generation. However, there are those who were ready to take advantage of it, it seems. Maybe they listened and waited.

Needless to say, the US has reacted (see below) and Israel is on very high alert given the suspicion that Syrian and Hizbollah might try a joint attack on the Golan or Galilee in Northern Israel.

No one need panic, not over the Economic situation and not over the Russian/Syrian threat, but your prayers are encouraged in these days of fasting and repentence.

Israel on high alert for Syrian, Hizballah Yom Kippur attacks

DEBKAfile Special Report

October 8, 2008, 11:05 AM (GMT+02:00)

After Syria moved tank units up to the Lebanese Beqaa Valley border Tuesday, Oct. 7, Israel raised the alert level for Yom Kippur on its borders with Syria and Lebanon and placed its Air Force and emergency first aid teams on standby in the event of Syrian or coordinated Syrian-Hizballah attacks.

Israeli embassies and Jewish institutions worldwide were also placed on high terror alert. Hizballah's leader Hassan Nasrallah said recently that his promised retaliation for the death of Imad Mughniyeh "is coming." There is no backing off from this decision or from carrying out the "big surprise" against the enemy, he said.

Damascus and the Lebanese Hizballah are closely aligned.

DEBKAfile's military sources report that the Syrian tank concentration on the Lebanese border Tuesday was Damascus' second military movement against its neighbor; three weeks ago, Syrian commando units took up positions on the North Lebanese border. In the first deployment, their tanks and armored vehicles were kept some 3-10 km to the rear of frontline commando forces. In the second, much closer to the Israeli border, armor and tanks have been deployed at the front.

These military movements sent Israeli defense minister Ehud Barak on an unannounced trip north Tuesday to check the state of readiness of the IDF's disposition on the Syrian and Lebanese borders. He cautioned the outpost commanders to exercise maximum vigilance in the coming days. The border seems quiet, he said, but commanders must take care never to permit a repeat of the Yom Kippur War exactly 35 years ago when Israel was caught napping by a Syrian invasion.

Our sources report that Washington, Jerusalem and Beirut are taking into account the possibility of Damascus seizing the moment of the total shutdown in Israel for 25 hours from Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 8, to Thursday night, Oct. 9, for Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) to launch its military forces against northern Lebanon or the Golan.

The West Bank was sealed off and Israel's border terminals with Jordan and Egypt closed from early Wednesday, Oct. 8.

An Israeli View of the News

RKNEWS Comment:  For the precise reason addressed in the quote below, Bush has seen his presidency destroyed.  There has been no true basis for the rending of the fabric of his legacy, except this. From the so-called lack of WMD to justify the attack on Iraq, to the deliberate destruction of his heretofore healthy economy, the Democrats have had to falsify, destroy and manipulate the media and populace in order to ruin his presidency.

If you don't know or believe the above, I can assure you that there is sound evidence, photographic and human witness to the fact that the weapons were by and large moved to Syria.  There are an abundance of statistics that the economy was booming and sound until the Democratic take over of Congress in 2006.  However, the Democratic left and a cooperating media has convinced American and World citizenry otherwise.  And so the downfall will continues.

Bush won a close election that seems to have been made possible only by heavenly intervention. He openly proclaimed a belief in God, to be a man of prayer and of wholehearted support for Israel. What began as a sort of non-interfering support of Israeli decisions (even bad ones) gradually became edicts issued from the White House to a willing extremely liberal government in Israel. While there are numerous powerful influences at play in the Middle East (nothing new about that!), for his part, Bush has increasingly either allowed or participated in destructive pressure and actions taken by Rice and the State Dept.  Before God, the responsibility is his alone.

In taking this last position (see below) President Bush is ensuring a ignominious ending to his promising beginning. It is certainly the 'nail in his coffin' and will bring no good end to the current crisis. Now the Democratic Congress has caused a worldwide economic fall and is succeeding to place the blame directly on his shoulders.  Most of the world's citizenry are not sophisticated in national and international politics, so will believe what they are told.

Israel is and will be judged according to God's Law for His Land, but the nations will be judged for their actions toward Israel. Let none doubt that God's raises up leaders and deposes them. Let all the world take note: He will not be mocked.

From Debka [ http://www.debka.com/headline.php?hid=5627 ]

"But the US president has taken it upon himself to decide that the issues aired and left pending will henceforth be deemed by the US presidency closed between the parties. He will recommend this principle to the next administration in the belief that it will jump the Israel-Palestinian negotiating process forward toward a final accord in 2009. President Bush also promised Abbas the Palestinians would not be held accountable for the impasse reached by the talks this year.

The Palestinians are trumpeting Bush's decision as a milestone on the road to achieving their goals. Abbas called Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and King Abdullah of Jordan to give them the glad tidings.

It may be recalled that Bush was the first US president ever to back the Palestinian demand for independence and a "two-state solution" of the conflict."

RKNEWS:  Olmert's sympathy for the PA refugees is sickening. I'm not even sure it's real; it may be crocodile tears meant to appease the international media and leftists. Worse is the sympathy for an Arab village that has been pillaging and burning their Jewish neighbors lands with impunity. Their last 'innocent' adventure was for one of them to creep into Yitzhar, try to stab a small boy several times, then throw him over the fence (the boy fought back and was lightly injured, thank God). Neither the army nor the police had taken any action to protect the Jewish residents in their community.  Therefore, this time the residents of Yitzhar took things into their own hands, followed the attacker into the village and wreaked some destruction. A couple of Arabs were hurt (NOT stabbed or shot, nor critically injured) during the melee. (for one article on this see http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/127622 )

Now Olmert and leftist cronies who came to guard the Arabs against arrest of the attacker are crying "pogram, pogram".....of course against the Jews!

What have we come to when we are not defended by the state and are not allowed to defend ourselves? It begins to sound like the shtetls in eastern Europe or the  hundreds of years of oppression experienced in the Arab lands before the JEWS became refugees from there.

Olmert's Twisted Priorities
voices sorrow for Palestinian refugees

September 15, 2008 | Eli E. Hertz

It is important to set the historical record straight: The overwhelming majority of Palestinian refugees left what was then the newly-established State of Israel on their own accord due to structural weaknesses within Palestinian society and their leadership.

The pressure of wartime conditions triggered the collapse of what was already a fragile Palestinian society, particularly when Palestinian leaders chose to oppose the Jewish state by a show of arms rather than by accepting a UN plan for their own state. Military necessity resulted after seven Arab armies invaded western Palestine with the goal of exterminating the newly born State of Israel.

The human tragedy of being uprooted notwithstanding, Palestinian refugees were neither hapless targets nor innocent bystanders. The first stage of the 1948 war was a fierce interethnic or anti-Zionist civil war in which Palestinians were the aggressors and the initiators; the second half was an all-out war involving regular armies, whose participation the Arab Palestinians engineered.

The violent path that Palestinians chose - and the ensuing fear, disorientation, and economic deprivation of war - led to their own collective undoing.

Because Palestinian Arab society had been so dependent on the British civil administration and social services, Britain's departure left Arab civil servants jobless. As a result, most social services and civil administration ceased to function in the Arab sector, disrupting the flow of essential commodities such as food and fuel, which added to the hardships, the uncertainty, and the dangers.

In contrast, Jewish society in Palestine, or the Yishuv as it was called in Hebrew, had established its own civil society over the span of three decades under the Mandate. The Yishuv created its own representative political bodies and social and economic institutions, including health and welfare services, a public transport network, and a thriving sophisticated marketing system for manufactured goods and food - in short, a state-in-the-making.

During that same period, the Arabs of Palestine, however, had invested all of their energies into fighting any form of Jewish polity-in-the-making.

So it was no surprise that when the British departed, the Palestinian Arabs remained unorganized and ill prepared not only for statehood (which they rejected in any case), but also for sustained conflict with their Jewish adversaries.

To this day, in fact, Palestinians reject the notion of Jewish institutions and symbols of Jewish peoplehood, labeling them as apartheid and racist, with their only goal being the dissolution of the Jewish character of Israel. Palestinians were, and to a great extent remain, a society with fundamental weaknesses that have nothing to do with Zionist aspirations or actions. It is a society characterized by tribal rivalries and social cleavages, rife with distrust and plagued by poor leadership.

In January 1948, Hussein Khalidi, Secretary of the Arab Higher Committee (AHC) - a coalition of six political factions established at the start of the Arab Revolt in 1936 and the Palestinians' only representative framework - complained to the Mufti: "Forty days after the declaration of a jihad, and I am shattered ... Everyone has left me. Six [AHC members] are in Cairo, two are in Damascus - I won't be able to hold on much longer... Everyone is leaving. Everyone who has a check or some money - off he goes to Egypt, to Lebanon, to Damascus."

As the flight of the leadership spread, the stampede effect spread to the middle classes and the peasantry, as the last British High Commissioner for Palestine General Sir Alan Cunningham noted in his report to London as the Mandate era wound to a close: "The collapsing Arab morale in Palestine is in some measure due to the increasing tendency of those who should be leading them to leave the country... In all parts of the country the effendi class has been evacuating in large numbers over a considerable period and the tempo is increasing."

The first five-and-a-half months of the war began with riots in so-called mixed cities where Jews and Arabs lived, escalated to attacks on Jewish transport until the violence grew into a bitter guerrilla warfare, as interethnic wars tend to be.

There were 6,000 Israeli dead as a result of that war [between November 30, 1947 - July 20, 1949] in a population of 600,000. One percent of the Jewish population was gone, along with billion of dollars [at present value] in damages to the newly born State of Israel.

The Palestinians were responsible for escalating the war - a move that cost the Jews thousands of lives and Palestinians their homes. By their own behavior, Palestinians assumed the role of belligerents in the conflict, invalidating any claim to be hapless victims and demand the 'right of return' a right not mentioned under international law or humanitarian law conventions.

An Israeli View of the News

RKNEWS COMMENT:   As long as no one is killed, and Israel refrains from retaliation, no one really cares about the missiles that continue to fly over the Gaza border into  Israel -- except for those in the nearby Negev and coastal communities  who are the targets. Media attention will be in small print, if at all. The headlines will scream, of course, if Israel re-closes (and reopens, re-closes, etc., etc.) the border crossings to goods and fuel for Hamas' population (hostages) in Gaza.

There is currently no way for Israel to win this war for world  approval. It's not Hamas, the PA, Hizbollah, etc., ad nauseum, who are winning.  Make no mistake: The  determined soldiers on this front are the dishonest propaganda hacks who enthusiastically serve the wealthy extreme left in control of most major media outlets, whether it be newpapers (example: New York Times), magazines (example: Newsweek), broadcast (examples: NBC, BBC, CNN) or Internet sources (example: Google -- see below).

The counter-revelations of these lies and innuendo against Israel in the public arena  demand alert and determined effort by groups taking legal action as in the Mohammed Dura affair (which the French courts have finally revealed to be based on a PA/French propaganda film) or by bloggers  exposing such things as Reuters' doctored photos from the latest Israel/Lebanon/Hizbollah war.

Given the size and funding of the enemies on this front and the gullibility of an uninformed public, Israel or her friends do not stand much chance of winning that war.

However, Israel should not mix the battles: On the one front she must continue to reveal the lies and present her case; on the other, she must take immediate and harsh defensive AND retaliatory action in the physical war. Otherwise, even were she to win on the propaganda front, there might be no Israel left to celebrate it.

GOOGLE EARTH: A NEW PLATFORM FOR ANTI-ISRAEL PROPAGANDA AND REPLACEMENT GEOGRAPHY

Google Earth is an online satellite mapping service that allows people to view images of virtually any place in the world. It also allows people to add comments about specific places. In a new report published by the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, Andre Oboler found significant anti-Israel propaganda on the site:

  • Virtual Israel, as represented by Google Earth, is littered with orange dots, many of which claim to represent "Palestinian localities evacuated and destroyed after the 1948 Arab-Israeli war." Thus, Israel is depicted as a state born out of colonial conquest rather than the return of a people from exile. Each dot links to the "Palestine Remembered" site, where further information advancing this narrative can be obtained.
  • Many of the claims staked out in Google Earth present misinformation, and sites known to be ruins in 1946 are claimed to be villages destroyed in 1948. Arab villages which still exist today are listed as sites of destruction. The Google Earth initiative is not only creating a virtual Palestine, it is creating a falsification of history.
  • The concept of "replacement geography" replaces the historical connection of one people to the land with a connection between another people and the land. The inclusion of virtual Palestine, superimposed on Israel in the core layer of Google Earth, is an example of replacement geography advanced by technology.
  • Those wishing to explore Israel in Google Earth are immediately taken to a politically motivated narrative unrelated to their quest. Google should remove the narrative and treat Israel as it treats every other country on the globe. The core layer of Google Earth should be ideology free and not serve as a platform for indoctrination or a campaign to wipe Israel off the virtual map.

RKNEWS COMMENT:  If you need any proof of the effectiveness of a repeated lie trumpeted endlessly thoughout the world's various communications channels, you have only to look at the success of the Al Gore-and-friends lie about Global Warming.

Don't tell me you really swallowed that one?! In case you are confused: There are many very reputable Scientist who kept quiet for a long time to preserve their jobs but are now slowly taking the risk and speaking out to reveal the 'big lie'. It's not only a lie, but one that is has already begun to damage the strong economies -- especially related to energy, food, manufacturing and development.

Don't confuse the false claims of Global Warming with the obvious need to clean up our air and water and preserve our natural resources (also not to be taken to the extreme of endangering the existence of mankind!)

Just take a few minutes to check out the behaviour of Gore and his foremost supporters as mega-users and carbon 'creators'.  The money that people are encouraged to donate to 'cover' their "carbon footprint" goes into a fund fully-managed by Guess-Who-and-friends!!! He's now a multimillionaire, thanks to this very successful propaganda campaign.  He's sold out his own country to the glee of his co-conspirators abroad.  He should have warned all of us of the food crisis and the modern 'dark ages'  to come due to his international tinkering.

Enough of that subject:  The  world-threat arising from not less successful Islamic progaganda even out-weighs the terrible devastation of  Al Gore's planet. The threat of war and the violent anti-semitic rhetoric heard even in unexpected places in the world are due to the success of Arafat -- of course with the support of global media, in convincing the world that little David is now a Palestian and Israel has become Goliath, not only in size but in aggression and injustice.  You want the facts? Palestinians
'Peoplehood' Based on a Big Lie

Eli E. Hertz

The Palestinians claim that they are an ancient and indigenous people fails to stand up to historic scrutiny. Most Palestinian Arabs were newcomers to British Mandate Palestine. Until the 1967 Six-Day War made it expedient for Arabs to create a Palestinian peoplehood, local Arabs simply considered themselves part of the 'great Arab nation' or 'southern Syrians.'

"Repeat a lie often enough and people will begin to believe it."
-- Nazi propaganda master Joseph Goebbels

"All [that Palestinians] can agree on as a community is what they want to destroy, not what they want to build."
-- New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman.

There is no age-old Palestinian people. Most so-called Palestinians are relative newcomers to the Land of Israel

Like a mantra, Arabs repeatedly claim that the Palestinians are a native people. The concept of a 'Stateless Palestinian people' is not based on fact. It is a fabrication.

Palestinian Arabs cast themselves as a native people in "Palestine" -- like the Aborigines in Australia or Native Americans in America. They portray the Jews as European imperialists and colonizers. This is simply untrue.

Until the Jews began returning to the Land of Israel in increasing numbers from the late 19th century to the turn of the 20th, the area called Palestine was a God-forsaken backwash that belonged to the Ottoman Empire, based in Turkey.

The land's fragile ecology had been laid waste in the wake of the Arabs' 7th-century conquest. In 1799, the population was at it lowest and estimated to be no more than 250,000 to 300,000 inhabitants in all the land.

At the turn of the 20th century, the Arab population west of the Jordan River (today, Israel and the West Bank) was about half a million inhabitants and east of the Jordan River perhaps 200,000.

The collapse of the agricultural system with the influx of nomadic tribes after the Arab conquest that created malarial swamps and denuded the ancient terrace system eroding the soil, was coupled by a tyrannous regime, a crippling tax system and absentee landowners that further decimated the population. Much of the indigenous population had long since migrated or disappeared. Very few Jews or Arabs lived in the region before the arrival of the first Zionists in the 1880s and most of those that did lived in abject poverty.

Most Arabs living west of the Jordan River in Israel, the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) and Gaza are newcomers who came from surrounding Arab lands after the turn of the 20th century because they were attracted to the relative economic prosperity brought about by the Zionist Movement and the British in the 1920s and 1930s.

This is substantiated by eyewitness reports of a deserted country -- including 18th-century reports from the British archaeologist Thomas Shaw, French author and historian Count Constantine Volney (Travels through Syria and Egypt, 1798); the mid-19th-century writings of Alphonse de Lamartine (Recollections of the East, 1835); Mark Twain (Innocents Abroad, 1867); and reports from the British Consul in Jerusalem (1857) that were sent back to London.

The Ottoman Turks' census (1882) recorded only 141,000 Muslims in the Land of Israel. The real number is probably closer to 350,000 to 425,000, since many hid to avoid taxes. The British census in 1922 reported 650,000 Muslims.

Aerial photographs taken by German aviators during World War I show an underdeveloped country composed mainly of primitive hamlets. Ashdod, for instance, was a cluster of mud dwellings, Haifa a fishing village. In 1934 alone, 30,000 Syrian Arabs from the Hauran moved across the northern frontier into Mandate Palestine, attracted by work in and around the newly built British port and the construction of other infrastructure projects. They even dubbed Haifa Um el-Amal ('the city of work').

The fallacy of Arab claims that most Palestinians were indigenous to Palestine -- not newcomers - is also bolstered by a 1909 vintage photograph of Nablus, today an Arab city on the West Bank with over 121,000 residents. Based on the number of buildings in the photo taken from the base of Mount Gerizim, the population in 1909 -- Muslim Arabs and Jewish Samaritans -- could not have been greater than 2,000 residents.

Family names of many Palestinians attest to their non-Palestinian origins. Just as Jews bear names like Berliner, Warsaw and Toledano, modern phone books in the Territories are filled with families named Elmisri (Egyptian), Chalabi (Syrian), Mugrabi (North Africa). Even George Habash -- the arch-terrorist and head of Black September -- bears a name with origins in Abyssinia or Ethiopia, Habash in both Arabic and Hebrew.

Palestinian nationality is an entity defined by its opposition to Zionism, and not its national aspirations.

What unites Palestinians has been their opposition to Jewish nationalism and the desire to stamp it out, not aspirations for their own state. Local patriotic feelings are generated only when a non-Islamic entity takes charge -- such as Israel did after the 1967 Six-Day War. It dissipates under Arab rule, no matter how distant or despotic.

A Palestinian identity did not exist until an opposing force created it -- primarily anti-Zionism. Opposition to a non-Muslim nationalism on what local Arabs, and the entire Arab world, view as their own turf, was the only expression of 'Palestinian peoplehood.'

The Grand Mufti Hajj Amin al-Husseini, a charismatic religious leader and radical anti-Zionist was the moving force behind opposition to Jewish immigration in the 1920s and 1930s. The two-pronged approach of the "Diplomacy of Rejection" (of Zionism) and the violence the Mufti incited occurred at the same time Lebanon, Syria, Transjordan and Iraq became countries in the post-Ottoman reshuffling of territories established by the British and the French under the League of Nation's mandate system.

The tiny educated class among the Arabs of Palestine was more politically aware than the rest of Arab society, with the inklings of a separate national identity. However, for decades, the primary frame of reference for most local Arabs was the clan or tribe, religion and sect, and village of origin. If Arabs in Palestine defined themselves politically, it was as "southern Syrians." Under Ottoman rule, Syria referred to a region much larger than the Syrian Arab Republic of today, with borders established by France and England in 1920.

In his book Greater Syria: The History of an Ambition, Daniel Pipes explains:

"Syria was a region that stretched from the borders of Anatolia to those of Egypt, from the edge of Iraq to the Mediterranean Sea. In terms of today's states, the Syria of old comprised Syria, Lebanon, Israel, and Jordan, plus the Gaza Strip and Alexandria."

Syrian maps in the 21st century still co-opt most of Greater Syria, including Israel.

The Grand Mufti Al-Husseini's aspirations slowly shifted from pan-Arabism -- the dream of uniting all Arabs into one polity, whereby Arabs in Palestine would unite with their brethren in Syria - to winning a separate Palestinian entity, with himself at the helm. Al-Husseini was the moving force behind the 1929 riots against the Jews and the 1936-1939 Arab Revolt against two non-Muslim entities in Palestine -- the British and the Jews. He gathered a large following by playing on fears that the Jews had come to dispossess, or at least dominate the Arabs.

Much like Yasser Arafat, the Grand Mufti's ingrained all-or-nothing extremism, fanaticism and even an inability to cooperate with his own compatriots made him totally ineffective. He led the Palestinian Arabs nowhere.

The 'Palestinian' cause became a key rallying point for Arab nationalism throughout the Middle East, according to Oxford historian Avi Shlaim. The countries the British and French created in 1918-1922 were based largely on meridians on the map, as is evident in the borders that delineate the Arab states today. Because these states lack ethnic logic or a sense of community, their opposition to the national aspirations of the Jews has come to fuel that fires Arab nationalism as the 'glue' of national identity.

From the 1920s, rejection of Jewish nationalism, attempts to prevent the establishment of a Jewish homeland by violence, and rejection of any form of Jewish political power, including any plans to share stewardship with Arabs, crystallized into the expression of Palestinianism. No other positive definition of an Arab-Palestinian people has surfaced. This point is admirably illustrated in the following historic incident:

"In 1926, Lord Plumer was appointed as the second High Commissioner of Palestine. The Arabs within the Mandate were infuriated when Plumer stood up for the Zionists' national anthem Hatikva during ceremonies held in his honor when Plumer first visited Tel Aviv. When a delegation of Palestinian Arabs protested Plumer's 'Zionist bias,' the High Commissioner asked the Arabs if he remained seated when their national anthem was played, 'wouldn't you regard my behavior as most unmannerly?' Met by silence, Plumer asked: 'By the way, have you got a national anthem?' When the delegation replied with chagrin that they did not, he snapped back, "I think you had better get one as soon as possible."

But it took the Palestinians more than 60 years to heed Plumer's advice, adopting Anthem of the Intifada two decades after Israel took over the West Bank and Gaza in 1967 -- at the beginning of the 1987 Intifada.

Under the Mandate, local Arabs also refused to establish an 'Arab Agency' to develop the Arab sector, parallel to the Jewish Agency that directed development of the Jewish sector.

In fact, the so-called patriotism of indigenous Muslims has flourished only when non-Muslim entities (the Crusaders, the British, the Jews) have taken charge of the Holy Land. When political control returns to Muslim hands, the ardent patriotism of the Arabs of Palestine magically wanes, no matter how distant or how despotic the government. One Turkish pasha who ruled Acco (Acre) between 1775 and 1804 was labeled Al Jazzar, The Butcher, by locals.

Why hasn't Arab representative government ever been established in Palestine, either in 1948 or during the next 19 years of Arab rule? Because other Arabs co-opted the Palestinian cause as a rallying point that would advance the concept that the territory was up for grabs. "The Arab invasion of Palestine was not a means for achieving an independent Palestine, but rather the result of a lack of consensus on the part of the Arab states regarding such independence," summed up one historian. Adherents to a separate Palestinian identity were a mute minority on the West Bank and Gaza during the 19 years of Jordanian and Egyptian rule - until Israel took control from the Jordanians and the Egyptians in 1967. Suddenly a separate Palestinian peoplehood appeared and claimed it deserved nationhood - and 21 other Arab states went along with it.

Palestinianism in and of itself lacks any substance of its own. Arab society on the West Bank and Gaza suffers from deep social cleavages created by a host of rivalries based on divergent geographic, historical, geographical, sociological and familial allegiances. What glues Palestinians together is a carefully nurtured hatred of Israel and the rejection of Jewish nationhood.

RKNEWS COMMENT:  Once again the international community is being informed that Israel has killed civilians, this time a mother and her 4 children.  Even were it true that the Israelis fired on their home, the implication is that it was a random attack intentionally made on a private home.

None of it is true. Investigation has shown that the terrorists' explosives killed the family.

The terrorists (not guerillas, or freedom fighters,as some are wont to call them) routinely fire from private homes, schools, hospitals, and whereever else they can, using their own citizens as human shields.  They use these places as warehouses for their explosives and missiles, as well.  And from there they fire their missiles and rockets, deliberately aiming at Israeli homes, schools and factories.  The intent is, of course, to weaken the will of the Israeli public to defend themselves in the face of terrorism.

Israel has not only the right, but the obligation, to defend her citizens from daily rocket and missile fire. She has limited the level of her response to attempting to attack only those who are physically involved in the attack on Israel. This is insane!!  When was  a war (and this IS war) ever won by limiting the defender to a minimum response. It just drags it out longer and feeds the anger of the population being used as cover for the attackers.  There is no logic in the strategy, only international pressure.

In addition, it's worth remembering that Gaza has NO Jewish population. Gazans were given the land; they were given the agricultural means to prosper by naive investors who paid for the Jewish farms and technology which were in place and already profitable.  The Gaza Arabs destroyed it all, willfully and purposefully.  It is not in Hamas' interest for the population to be self-supporting.  Hamas must keep them dependent, hungry, in the dark and angry.  Thus they won the election and thus they continue to receive a high level of support from the residents while, they, the ruling Hamas steal available supplies of food and fuel. Then what the  Hamas and other terrorist groups  don't use themselves (They can't fight on an empty stomach, can they?), they ration to some of their citizens, with great compassion for the suffering.

In this case, there were terrorists near the house with explosives. Hamas explosives killed this mother and her children. Now they will make them "martyrs"  and, of course, never admit that they were not "murdered" by Israel.

The news media published the accusation and most will never correct the headlines.  Only a person who makes it his or her business to be informed will ever know the truth. Would that they were the majority in our world today!

IDF SPOKESPERSON'S ANNOUNCEMENT

During IDF operation this morning in northern Gaza, the IDF
targeted from the air two Palestinian gunmen who were approaching
the soldiers while carrying large bags on their backs. A big
explosion erupted on the scene, following the attack against the
two, indicating the presence of bombs and explosives in the
gunmen's bags. As a result of this big explosion, extensive
damage was caused to a house that was near the gunmen and
uninvolved civilians were hit. The IDF Spokesperson wishes to
stress that the responsibility for the injuring and killing of
uninvolved civilians lies with the terrorist organization Hamas,
which operates within civilian population, using them as human
shields and risking their lives by keeping bombs and explosives
near them.

Residents of Sderot and the rest of the Gaza-periphery awoke to yet another day of Kassam rockets, with eight Kassam strikes being reported since early Wednesday morning.

All of the rockets hit open areas in the western Negev, save for one, which landed near a school in Sderot.

Nobody was wounded in any of the attacks, and no damage was reported.

Wednesday's near-miss at the school was the second time in two days that such an incident occurred. On Monday, a Kassam rocket hit a schoolyard in the city. No one was wounded in that attack.

Despite talk of a cease-fire between Israel, Hamas, and the other Palestinian factions, the western Negev has seen no relief from the continued Kassam rocket barrages. On Tuesday, at least 16 rockets hit the area, with one causing serious damage to a house in Sderot.

RKNEWS Comment:  How about this?? If I read one more time about his 'strong Jewish support'  or about how honest and unbiased he is, I think I'll be sick.  Just how gullible can we BE?

Arab-American Activist Says Obama Hiding Anti-Israel Stance

by Gil Ronen

(IsraelNN.com) Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Obama is currently hiding his anti-Israel views in order to get elected, according to a well-known anti-Israel activist. The activist, Ali Abunimah, claimed to know Obama well and to have met him on numerous occasions at pro-Palestinian events in Chicago.

In an article he penned for the anti-Israeli website Electronic Intifada, Abunimah wrote:

"The last time I spoke to Obama was in the winter of 2004 at a gathering in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. He was in the midst of a primary campaign to secure the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate seat he now occupies. But at that time polls showed him trailing.

"As he came in from the cold and took off his coat, I went up to greet him. He responded warmly, and volunteered, 'Hey, I'm sorry I haven't said more about Palestine right now, but we are in a tough

primary race.

" 'Hey, I'm sorry I haven't said more about Palestine right now, but we are in a tough primary race.' "

"I'm hoping when things calm down I can be more up front.' He referred to my activism, including columns I was contributing to the The Chicago Tribune critical of Israeli and US policy [and said:] 'Keep up the good work!'"

Barack, Michelle, Edward and Mariam
Abunimah's report included a photo of Obama with his wife Michelle seated at a table with virulently anti-Israeli Professor Edward Said and his wife Mariam, in what Abunimah said was a May 1998 Arab community event in Chicago at which Said gave the keynote speech.

In an interview earlier this year for the leftist radio show "Democracy Now!," a daily TV and radio news program hosted by Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez, Abunimah said he knew Obama for many years as his state senator "when he used to attend events in the Palestinian community in Chicago all the time."

"I remember personally introducing him onstage in 1999, when we had a major community fundraiser for the community center in Deheisha refugee camp in the occupied West Bank," he recounted. "And that's just one example of how Barack Obama used to be very comfortable speaking up for and being associated with Palestinian rights and opposing the Israeli occupation."

" About face 'to get elected'
Abunimah's report included a photo of Obama with his wife Michelle seated at a table with virulently anti-Israeli Professor Edward Said and his wife Mariam. "

The Arab-American activist went on to say: "In 2000, when Obama unsuccessfully ran for Congress I heard him speak at a campaign fundraiser hosted by a University of Chicago professor. On that occasion and others Obama was forthright in his criticism of US policy and his call for an even-handed approach to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict."

"Obama's about-face is not surprising," Abunimah wrote. "He is merely doing what he thinks is necessary to get elected and he will continue doing it as long as it keeps him in power."

When Obama first ran for the Senate in 2004, the Chicago Jewish News interviewed him on his stance regarding Israel's security fence. He accused the Bush administration of neglecting the "Israeli-Palestinian" situation and criticized the security fence built by Israel to prevent terror attacks: "The creation of a wall dividing the two nations is yet another example of the neglect of this Administration in brokering peace," Obama was quoted as saying.

An Israeli View of the News

RKNEWS COMMENT:  Living in an inter-connected global community, Israel's way of life (no surprised to anyone) is intimately connected to the policies of the US. While we believe that ultimately Israel's existence is under the protection of the One God who is ruler over all, still we are not relieved of our responsibility to be wise and make the right choices personally, as a community, and as a nation.

Usually Israel as a whole under the influence of the leftist media of the US and Israel, follow blindly after the Liberal agenda in the US, believing (wanting to believe) the fairy tales of support for Israel that they spew out while secretly undercutting Israel's security.  Many Israeli's still believe that Clinton was pro-Israel, not to mention how many years it took to understand how anti-Israel Carter is.

Now Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton are fawning once again over the US Jewish community in order to get the Jewish vote.  They say the right words, but we should look carefully at their future cabinets and the advisors already working with them.  Who are they?  Where do they really stand on Israel? Who is supporting them?

Much of the aim of the left-of-center political power in the US is aimed at total Globalization to the point of reducing nations to powerless states under one ruling consortium (who knows who will be at the head of that -- Russia, the US, the UN, China, the EU are all contenders). For now, all point to the UN as the logical center of power -- just imagine!

This is not some dreamt up conspiracy but clearly stated objectives over several generations in families of power. In the US, Al Gore's father, a Senator, was a Federalist (meaning Globalist) in cahoots  with Armand Hammer who was enamorated with Lenin.  The Council on Foreign Relations meetings (recent American speakers include all presidential contenders; members include Rice, Albright, Kissinger, etc.) document speeches given in favor of globalization, economic and military. A search of the biographies of the powerful show national and international relationships never made clear to the general public, through family, education, organizations and positions of power and MONEY.

Note just one of many sources of enlightening information below.  All of it is based on multiple reliable sources. Why should you know these things:  Well some of us still have a right to vote and influence US policy in some small way AND we can try to influence Israel to stop allowing US policy to dictate Israel's economy and security.  (Case in Point: pull out from Gaza to await Rice's arrival!!)

Related to the article below, some things to check out and think about:

1:   The Russian 'vacation' of Bill Clinton and Talbott during the Vietnam War: (Talbott got a Rhodes Scholarship the same year Clinton did and was Clinton's roommate at Oxford. )

2:  High oil prices tie in with the effort of the globalists to cripple the US and western economies, power and international influence. Follow the money (among others):

A: Al Gore and associates with a consortium working on an alternatie fuel they mean to establish as the standard.  Al Gore: Multimillionaire

B: The Russians are profiting greatly from the high oil prices with oil contracts and pipelines that will eventually give Putin's Russia a great deal of power and influence over the EU policies.

C:  Powerful  Liberals and Democrats who tie US hands in new oil drilling, refinery building, etc.?

D:  However, the Arab profit is almost secondary in this game, a means to an end; their economies have been stressed over the last few years of oil wars.

4:  Global Warming:  What is Al Gore's connection to Globalization?  Note that in 2000 the U.S. House of Representatives released a  report named Russia's Road To Corruption, How the Clinton Administration Exported Government Instead of Free

The report inludes the statement that Talbott was part of a "troika" within the Clinton team, along with Al Gore and Treasury secretary Larry Summers. Their responsibility was formulating foreign policy toward Russia.

Strobe Talbott remains a leftist, the ideological leaning that attracted him to Bill Clinton when the two roomed together at Oxford in 1968. It also prompted his first visit to the Soviet Union in the winter of 1968, at the peak of the anti-war protests. Soon after, Talbott's career took off.

Mr. Talbott wrote an article containing strong anti-Israel sentiments article in Time magazine in 1981. Though he later claimed to have changed his opinion, his active defense of Russia's transfer of long-range missiles to Iran in 1997 was even written up in Haaretz.  He blames Israel for all the world's ills.

"In "What to Do About Israel," which appeared in the September 7, 1981 issue of Time, Talbott argued that Israel's attack on the Osirak nuclear bomb plant in Iraq had imperiled U.S. interests in the Middle East to such an extent that the Reagan administration should radically review its relationship to the Jewish state. (Most analysts today agree that if the Israelis hadn't taken out Osirak, the Iraqis would have gone nuclear by the mid-1980's). "Israel is well on its way to becoming not just a dubious asset but an outright liability to American security interests," Talbott wrote. He blamed the Israelis for an extraordinary laundry list of the world's ills, real and imagined, from weak government in Jordan to pushing Persian Gulf states such as Kuwait into the arms of the Soviet Union. Israel was "a rather nasty and bitter nation, even a violent one...shrill, self-righteous and even a bit frightening.... Israel is a problem, and a growing one...an embarrassment...a mixed blessing." On one of the poster-boards was this statement from the same essay: "It is a delusion that Israel is, or ever has been, a strategic ally" of the United States."Conflict over Iranian Missiles

Barak Hussein Obama has also visited Russia on behalf of a Global Poverty bill he is now trying to force to the US Congress and which will effect us all.  Why haven't we heard about this before???  We already know of Hillary Rodham Clinton) visits to Russia.

What is the anti-Israel Strobe Talbott doing today??

Former Clinton Official Named as Russian Dupe

AIM Report  |  March 4, 2008

Although Talbott has been identified in press accounts as a current adviser to Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, he showed up to hear Senator Barack Obama deliver a foreign policy address in 2005 to the Council on Foreign Relations and declared, "It was very impressive."

In what could be the biggest State Department scandal since State Department official and United Nations founder Alger Hiss was exposed as a Soviet spy, a top Clinton State Department official and former Time magazine journalist has been identified as having been a trusted contact of the Russian intelligence service.

The sensational charge against Strobe Talbott is made in a new book based on interviews with a Russian defector. The book, Comrade J, by veteran author and reporter Pete Earley, identifies Talbott as having been manipulated by a Russian official working for Russian intelligence in order to get information about U.S. foreign policy. The same book describes the United Nations as a major base of espionage operations for Russia in the U.S.

But the story gets much more scandalous than that because Talbott himself has just written a book,
The Great Experiment, describing his own background in the pro-world government World Federalist Movement and naming a network of friends and close associates that includes former President Bill Clinton and billionaire leftist George Soros. Curiously, the book calls for expanding the authority of the U.N. but completely ignores the role of Soviet spy Alger Hiss, himself a top State Department official, in founding the United Nations.

The purpose of Talbott's book is to promote "global governance," a euphemism for world government. It is defined in the subtitle as "The Quest for a Global Nation."

Interestingly, one of Talbott's closest friends in the U.S. Senate, Republican Richard Lugar of Indiana, has emerged as a foreign policy adviser to leading Democratic presidential candidate and Senator Barack Obama of Illinois. In 2005, Lugar and Obama made a visit to Russia to promote the scandal-ridden "Cooperative Threat Reduction Program (CTR)," also known as the Nunn-Lugar program for its original Senate sponsors. The CTR has poured about $6 billion into the former Soviet Union in foreign aid, supposedly for the purpose of preventing nuclear proliferation.

"After actively promoting Nunn-Lugar while at Time [magazine], Talbott was put in charge of the [CTR] program when named by Clinton as ambassador at large to Russia and the newly independent states in February 1993," notes journalist Ken Timmerman, in a report headlined, "Strobe Talbott: Russia's Man in Washington."

Pleased With Hillary And Obama

Although Talbott has been identified in press accounts as a current adviser to Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, he showed up to hear Senator Barack Obama deliver a foreign policy address in 2005 to the Council on Foreign Relations and declared, "It was very impressive." A story about the speech carried by MSNBC and published on Obama's Senate website noted that Lugar was "helping" Obama in the foreign policy field, that Obama and Lugar "have formed a political joint venture and mutual admiration society," and that they had traveled to Russia together. The trip to Russia was designed to ensure Obama's support for maintaining and even expanding the foreign aid for Russia through the CTR program.

Although CTR supporters claim it can be effective in keeping nuclear weapons or materials out of the hands of terrorists, various reports from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) reveal that funds have been used mainly to destroy obsolete weapons that Moscow was going to replace with high-tech arms. The International Proliferation Prevention Program, which has evolved from the CTR,  was recently exposed by the GAO as a jobs program for Russian scientists, more than half of which may not have any weapons-related experience.

Nevertheless, Obama said that "few people" understand Russia better than Lugar, a "rock star" on the world stage. Lugar, in turn, calls Strobe Talbott a "good friend" and "source of sound counsel" who "continues to provide outstanding national and international leadership."

The Significance Of Tretyakov

Comrade J is about a Russian master spy, Sergei Tretyakov, who defected to the United States because he was disgusted with the Russian/Soviet system and wanted to start a new and better life with his family in America. His allegations about Talbott have been ignored by most of the media.

Tretyakov is described as the highest ranking Russian intelligence official ever to defect while stationed in the U.S. and handled all Russian intelligence operations against the U.S. He served under cover from 1995-2000 at Russia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations but was secretly working for the FBI for at least three years.

Talbott has been and continues to be a major foreign policy thinker. Back in 2000, when he was named head of the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization, he was described as "a key architect of U.S. foreign policy" during the Clinton years. Talbott now serves as president of the liberal think tank, the Brookings Institution, in Washington, D.C., where he gets paid over $400,000 a year, leads a staff of 277 and presides over an endowment of over $200 million.

Talbott denies Tretyakov's charges, calling them "erroneous and/or misleading," and his denials are featured on page 184 of the book. He says that he always promoted U.S. foreign policy goals and that the close relationship that he had with a top Russian official by the name of Georgi Mamedov did not involve any manipulation or deception.

Deja Vu

This is not the first time that Talbott has come under scrutiny for his alleged contacts with agents of a foreign intelligence service. In 1994, when he was being considered for his State Department post in the Clinton Administration, he was grilled by Senator Jesse Helms, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, about his relationship with Victor Louis, a Soviet "journalist" who was actually a Soviet KGB intelligence agent. Talbott had been a young correspondent for Time magazine in Moscow.

As reported by Herbert Romerstein in Human Events newspaper, Talbott admitted knowing Louis from 1969 until his death in 1992 but that he was not aware of his "organizational affiliations." Pressed further, Talbott acknowledged that he was aware of assertions or speculation to that effect about Louis. Helms then confronted Talbott with a 1986 State Department publication revealing that Louis had been identified as a KGB agent by KGB defectors and had been used by the Soviets to spread disinformation. Talbott said he still didn't know for sure that Louis was a KGB agent. Romerstein's Human Events article accused Talbott of writing articles following the Soviet line.

However, Talbott had powerful friends, including Senator and fellow Rhodes Scholar Richard Lugar, who supported his nomination.

Romerstein, a retired government expert on anti-American and communist propaganda activities, said the Earley book is valuable because it documents that the Russian intelligence service picked up where the KGB left off, and that operations against the U.S. continued after the end of the Cold War.

But he said the information about Talbott needs further explanation from Talbott himself. "Talbott really has to explain more than he did to Pete Earley what his relationship was to Mamedov, and he should tell us about his relationship with Victor Louis," Romerstein said.

Talbott's "Vision"

On January 4, Talbott gave a talk at the "Politics & Prose" bookstore in Washington, D.C., where he explained in precise detail what he means by "global governance." He said that it "allows for a multiplicity of governments [or] nation states in the world but at the same time depends increasingly on an international system made up of up treaties, international law, institutions, and various arrangements whereby nations in effect pool their national authority in order to deal with certain problems that they cannot deal with all by themselves and they can't deal with in small numbers."

Talbott added, "That is the big idea that the book attempts to describe and trace. And it's not just a utopian dream. Global governance is a reality. We have it today."

In the future, Talbott says the U.N. will need to be "incorporated into an increasingly variegated network of structures and arrangements, some functional in focus, others geographic; some intergovernmental, others based on systematic collaboration with the private sector, civil society, and NGOs [non-governmental organizations]. Only if the larger enterprise of global governance has that kind of breadth and depth will it be able to supplement what the U.N. does well, compensate for what it does badly, and provide capabilities that it lacks."

McCain Opposed Talbott

In 1993, when Talbott was nominated by President Clinton as Ambassador at Large and Special Adviser to the Secretary of State on the new Independent States (of the former Soviet Union), Senator John McCain took to the Senate floor to declare that, despite Talbott being a close friend and personal pick of the President's, "I cannot in good conscience vote to confirm his appointment."

McCain said that Talbott, as a writer for Time magazine and a commentator, had been guilty of making "mistaken observations" and suggesting "flawed policy solutions" on the matter of whether Russia "will evolve peacefully and democratically, collapse into chaos, or return to totalitarianism, be it Communist or fascist."

McCain noted that Talbott opposed all of the Reagan initiatives, including deployment of missiles to Europe and the Strategic Defense Initiative, which had kept Europe free from Soviet control and eventually resulted in the demise of the Soviet empire. McCain said that "it would require many more hours for me to cite all the examples of mistakes and inconsistencies upon which Mr. Talbott bases his reputation as a Soviet expert."

However, on April 2, 1993, Talbott was confirmed by the Senate to this post by a Yea-Nay Vote of 89-9. One of his leading Senate backers was Indiana Republican Senator Richard Lugar. The nine voting against Talbott were Craig (R-ID), Faircloth (R-NC), Gorton (R-WA), Helms (R-NC), Kempthorne (R-ID), Lott (R-MS), McCain (R-AZ), Smith (R-NH), and Wallop (R-WY).

On February 22, 1994, again with Lugar's vigorous support, Talbott was confirmed by the Senate by a Yea-Nay Vote of 66-31 to the post of Deputy Secretary of State. Once again, McCain voted against him.

While critical of the George W. Bush Administration, Talbott hosted Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice at a May 2007 meeting of the International Advisory Council of Brookings. In his book, he gives credit to Rice for "moderating the tone and substance" of policy coming from the Bush White House in the president's second term.

Talbott's Friends

Talbott's book,
The Great Experiment,
not only ignores the role of Soviet spy Alger Hiss in founding the U.N. but describes the production of the U.N. Charter as a "very public American project." He thanks George Soros and Walter Isaacson, formerly of Time but now with the Aspen Institute, for their input on his manuscript.

Talbott also gives thanks to convicted document thief Sandy Berger, Bill Clinton's national security adviser  who now advises Hillary's presidential campaign; Soros associate Morton Halperin, formerly of the ACLU; Javier Solana of the European Union; and Bill Clinton, "for helping me better to understand several aspects of his view of the world and America's role in it."

A close personal friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Talbott is described in the
Comrade J
book as having been "a special unofficial contact" of the Russian intelligence agency, the SVR, when he was Deputy Secretary of State in the Clinton Administration. Talbott had been in charge of Russian affairs.

"Inside the SVR, that term was used only to identify a top-level intelligence source who had high social and/or political status and whose identity needed to be carefully guarded," the book says. On the same level of interest was Fidel Castro's brother Raul, a communist "recruited by the KGB during the Khrushchev era" who continued to work for the Russians after the Soviet collapse, the book says. He, too, was a "special unofficial contact."

Talbott was allegedly manipulated and deceived by Russia's then Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Georgi Mamedov, who was "secretly working" for Russian intelligence, the book alleges. The book, however, does not make the specific charge that Talbott was recruited as a Russian spy or was a conscious agent of the Russian regime.

The book cites Talbott as an "example of how a skilled intelligence agency could manipulate a situation and a diplomatic source to its advantage without the target realizing he was being used for intelligence-gathering purposes." It says Mamedov was "instructed" by the SVR to ask specific questions to get information about certain matters.

The book says that Talbott was so compromised by his relationship with Mamedov that the FBI asked Secretary of State  Madeleine Albright not to share information with Talbott about an espionage investigation at the State Department because Mamedov might learn about it and tip off Russian intelligence. Earley says he confirmed this account but that Albright has refused to discuss the incident.

The book cites a House of Representatives report, released in September 2000, which found that the Clinton Administration and Talbott in particular had excused the actions of the Russian government and had failed to promote democracy and free enterprise there.

Earley's book itself discusses how, during the mid 1990s, Talbott, State Department spokesman Mike McCurry, and President Clinton himself echoed Russian propaganda that justified Russian attacks on Chechnya. This "delighted the propagandists inside the SVR," which claimed credit" for what the U.S. officials had said, the book says.

It seems that Talbott has a tendency, which continues to the present day, of whitewashing the Russian regime.

In congressional testimony just last October on U.S.-Russian relations, Talbott attacked the Bush Administration for withdrawing from the ABM treaty, urged Russian membership in the World Trade Organization, and advocated more negotiations and agreements with Russia over nuclear arms. The U.S. has "set a bad example" for the Russians in foreign affairs, Talbott said.

With all of these high-powered connections, the story about Talbott being used by the Russians seems to be a story worth reporting or commenting on. However, if the media examine the charges against Talbott, they might have to deal with other evidence and information in the book about how spies for the Soviet intelligence service manipulated the U.S. media.

The book, for instance, explains how the Soviet KGB peddled charges that deployment of U.S. nuclear weapons to Europe in the 1980s might lead to their use and a "nuclear winter" or climate crisis for the world. The book says the story was cooked up by the KGB and fed to the Western world by anti-nuclear activists such as Carl Sagan, who penned an article on the topic for the Council on Foreign Relations journal Foreign Affairs. The book notes that Sagan later appeared on the ABC television network to talk about the subject.

Tretyakov says he discovered "dozens of case studies" of the KGB using "propaganda and disinformation to influence public opinion" in the West.

His Time At Time

A prominent journalist himself at one time, Talbott achieved notoriety for writing a July 20, 1992, Time column, "The Birth of the Global Nation," saying that in the next century "nationhood as we know it will be obsolete," that we will all some day become world citizens, and that wars and human rights violations in the 20th century had clinched "the case for world government." This reflects the views of the pro-world government World Federalist movement.

"The piece made me briefly popular with foreign policy liberals and, not so briefly, a target of brickbats from the right," he says in his book. He acknowledges that his parents were members  of the World Federalist Movement (they were also "active in the internationalist wing of the  Republican Party in the  late forties and early fifties ") and that he had a dog growing up known as "Freddie," which was short for World Federalists. The World Federalist Movement collaborated with Soviet front groups such as the Soviet Peace Committee during the Cold War and tried to avoid scrutiny from anti-communist congressional committees after World War II.

In one of his first major media appearances after his selection as Brookings president, on the Charlie Rose program, he was identified in promotional material as a World Federalist. But this designation doesn't appear in the official biography on the Brookings website.

Talbott's global left-wing vision was endorsed personally by President Clinton, who had sent a June 22, 1993, letter to the World Federalist Association (WFA) when it gave Talbott its Norman Cousins Global Governance Award. In the letter, Clinton noted that Cousins, the WFA founder, had "worked for world peace and world government" and that Talbott was a "worthy recipient" of the award. Talbott and Bill Clinton became friends when they were both Rhodes Scholars.

Hillary Clinton, who has been friends with Talbott since their days together at Yale University, gave a videotaped address to the WFA in 1999 on the occasion of the group giving former anchorman of the CBS Evening News Walter Cronkite its global governance award. She praised Cronkite's work. For his part, Cronkite declared that "we must strengthen the United Nations as a first step toward a world government" and America must "yield up some of our sovereignty."

What You Can Do

Send the enclosed postcard to Howard Wolfson of the Clinton campaign about Hillary's relationship with Strobe Talbott. Also send a postcard to White House chief of staff Bolten, asking the President to veto Obama's Global Poverty Act.

I can find nothing in the Times analyzing the passage of Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama's $845 billion Global Poverty Act (S. 2433). Why have they not gotten around to reporting on this? Obama, after all, is a candidate, too. Have they been too busy tracking down rumors about McCain?

THE PASSAGE OF THE OBAMA GLOBAL POVERTY ACT IS IMPORTANT. Indeed, a Texas State Senator named Kirk Watson recently made a fool of himself by failing to come up with any examples of Senator Barack Obama's legislative accomplishments when he was on an MSNBC program hosted by Chris Matthews. It was "Stump the Chump," Watson later joked. But both Watson and Matthews seemed not to know that Obama, in fact, had just scored a major accomplishment. His Global Poverty Act commits the U.S. to fulfilling the Millennium Development Goals of the United Nations through a global tax if necessary. Why the media blackout on this bill? Is this not something we should begin talking about? After all, it's on the verge of passing the full Senate and becoming law. Please call the offices of Senators Jim DeMint and David Vitter, both members of the Foreign Relations Committee, and ask them to keep this bill from coming to the Senate floor. The Capitol number is 202-224-3121. Also send the enclosed postcard to White House chief of staff Joshua Bolten, asking that the President veto this bill if it reaches his desk.

ON FEBRUARY 13, OBAMA HIMSELF ISSUED A PRESS RELEASE HAILING PASSAGE OF THE BILL in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. "It must be a priority of American foreign policy to commit to eliminating extreme poverty and ensuring every child has food, shelter, and clean drinking water," Obama said. His press release said that his bill makes it official U.S. policy to achieve "the Millennium Development Goal of cutting extreme global poverty in half by 2015" and that the president must do this through the use of "measurable goals," certain "efforts," and "benchmarks" and "timetables." An inquiring reporter might ask: what is the Millennium Development Goal? And what is the cost of such a gargantuan effort? But we have few inquiring reporters these days.

RKNEWS COMMENT:  Two red flags have been waved in the face of the world's supporters of the Palestinian Arabs, in general, and Gazans, in particular. Before they rush once again to condemn Israel for defensive incursions, they ought to look at what awaits a nation and a world where Islam rules. (Apparently Afghanistan wasn't enough!)

Red Flag #1:    14 Muslim gunmen broke into the YMCA offices in Gaza before dawn Friday and blew up its library, the center's coordinator told AFP.  [February 15, 2008] Israel National News reported.

Red Flag #2:   "Palestinian Authority Arabs set fire to Joseph's Tomb in Shechem (Nablus) on Tuesday. The burial site of the Biblical Joseph is supposed to be protected, according to all agreements with the PA,"  Israel National News reported.   The Tomb was turned over under promise of protection and guaranteed Israeli access as part of the Oslo Accords.  It was immediately nearly destroyed and has been vandalized repeatedly. Needless to say, just as with other Jewish historical sites, it has not been protected.

RKNEWS COMMENT:  Have you perchance heard the UN Security Council demanding action against Hamas? Fatah? Gaza? concerning the little boy who was severely injured in Sderot on Sabbath? Have you heard ANYONE condemn the attack at the same noise level we heard when Israel closed Gaza's borders?  If you have, you may well be unique.

What we DID hear was that they will stop the missiles if Israel stops "attacking" Gaza. The logic of that is short-term brilliant and long-term moronic.

Consider a Modern Unending Story:

BadMan shoots missiles at AnyOne's house.  After rattling his saber over and over, a little louder each time, and after some of his house is damaged and his family has fled to safety, AnyOne finally stands up and shoots at BadMan who has been firing the missiles.   (True, BadMan is hiding most of the time in the middle of kids, old people and a few ultra-naďve strangers, not necessarily in that order and never his relatives.)  BadMan fires again, AnyOne shoots a missile at BadMan's rocket launchers (human and/or machine), Bad Man complains and offers to stop missiles only if AnyOne stops attacking him.

Middle of Modern Unending Story:

AnyOne decides it's worth a try and stops returning fire at BadMan.  BadMan restocks his missile supply, trains...and builds....new and better rocket launchers (human and/or machine),  and fires more powerful missiles this time at AnyOne.

AnyOne, his trust betrayed, doesn't rattle his saber so many times as before. He attacks, this time hitting some empty buildings in an attempt to impress BadMan with his overwhelming strength, to show him that AnyOne is serious indeed.  He uses airplanes and helicopters and shoots at cars full of ImportantBadMen.

However, now BadMan is interviewed by all the World'sImportantReporters and then sends a Rep. to the Council of the "World's Good Men". He claims AnyOne reneged on his treaty obligations made all the "World's Good Men" Summit and he demands that the Council of the "World's Good Men" take away AnyOne's house so everyone, especially the ImportantBadMen can live in peace.

The Council of "World's Good  Men" of course understand that the reason the BadMan is Bad in the first place is because he doesn't have AnyOne's house.

So, they demand that the mean-spirited, blood-thirsty, war-mongering AnyOne stop picking on BadMan and his poor weak friends because they apparently have no money, no jobs,  and nothing to do but build rockets with the money of the "World's Good Men".  Then the Council of the "World's Good Men" will receive the Nobel prize for bringing peace to the world.

AnyOne refuses. Not having any other place to live, AnyOne builds a bigger and better bomb shelter so his family will come home. He builds a high wall;   he tries to shoot down the incoming missiles.

The climax of the frustrating nightmare is a Little AnyBoy, one minute running to get a present for his grandfather and the next, lying bloodied on the ground with no leg to run on.... and the BadMan glorying in his prowess, in spite of all AnyOne has tried to do.

The End?  Repeat the Modern Unending Story from the beginning......

And so it goes in the East.

The Council of the "World's Good Men" know better, but most GoodPeople never read or hear the true story.

And so it goes in the West.

A SABBATH UNDER FIRE IN SDEROT..AND ITS AFTERMATH.

On Saturday night the 9th of February, two brothers 19 and 8 year
old, Rami and Osher Twito, borrowed their mother's credit card to
go to the Sderot ATM machine to buy after shave lotion as a
birthday present for their father.

Within moments, they  were lying  next to each other in a pool of
blood on a Sderot side walk.

Pieces of their legs scattered on the street.  One of Osher's
legs was immediately severed. Osher's second leg was shattered.

Rami and Osher  were  running for their lives after they heard the RED COLOR siren. They didn't have enough time to run for the shelter which was 100 meters away, knowing that they only had 15 seconds until the  kassam missile would explode.

Tens of Sderots residents ran to help the boys. Then another siren went  off, and they all  ran for the shelter once again.. A few minutes later, a few residents started to scream to the crowd
:

" Let's go block the streets!!" They started chanted:  We want a military solution! We want the army to do what's right and to fight the enemy!"

There was utter despair on the people's faces -  helplessness of the fathers and mothers carrying their children.

What a Sabbath in Sderot, with 40 missile attacks fired at
Sderot.

Thinking about Friday night.  Sitting at a Sabbath dinner with the Gad Family. Hava Gad is the Sderot Parents Association spokeswoman. A siren was fired while the soup was being served.

The whole family took cover in their hall way, which is the
safest  place in the house.

The missile fell across the street. A boom rocked the house. Hava collapsed.  Tzfania her husband, a reserve military officer, leaned over Hava, calming her down. Their 9 year old son- Yanai played his own role  supporting  with his mother, calming her down.

A few seconds later another explosion. And then another one. It quiets down and everyone returned to the Sabbath  table.

And then another missile attack. Tsfania opened  the back door for their puppy to hide for shelter in their hall way.

Hava,  bent over even more than before, said  that she is  going to throw  up. Tsfania  holds her tight.

Yanai, once again comforting his mother, mentions, matter of factly,  that  on  Friday morning a missile exploded in the
soccer field next to their school,  and that they were lucky that they weren't allowed to go out, for security reasons.

As the meal finished, the children played games on the floor, and then, an enormous explosion.

This time, Hava screamed  and collapsed on the floor, shivering. Tsfania went to the other room to get her a pill, and asked  her if he should call an ambulance to evacuate her.

Yaani again hugged  and kissed her, telling her that it fell a
blocks away from here and that there is nothing to worry about. Yaani looked up and said that  they should learn medicine in school, for cases like these.  A fourth grader who sees himself as a paramedic at the age of nine.

Walking  the streets of Sderot on the Sabbath  afternoon,  to get a feeling about what people are going through,  a few brave children went out to play in the sunny beautiful day.

Every group of children had  something to do with
the rocket reality.

A  four year old, mumbling while playing next to the synagogue- 'Tseva Adom, Tseva Adom' "RED COLOR RED COLOR".

And then  there was the nearby Sderot Ethiopian community , where children were arguing with each other , debating , which school was hit more by the rockets. Children were playing with toys, throwing them up to the air, and yelling- "A Kassam!" and then make a noise of an explosion.

Watching these children,  you think of the recent statement from Dr Roni Beger from Natal Trauma Treatment Center, that anywhere between  70%- 94% of the children in Sderot now suffer from PTS-Post Traumatic Stress Symptoms.

Dr. Adrianna Katz,  head of the Sderot Mental Health Center, notes that most of these Children are going to be affected for life.

And then there was the perspective of the  experts -
Dr. Reuven Ehrlich, the head of Intelligence and Terror
Information Center, visited Sderot last week and reported that over 8,000 missile attacks had occurred over the past seven years

Tzachi Hanegbi, chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee,  last Tuesday requested ten minutes of air time on the Voice of Israel Radio newsreel, where he demanded that the Israeli army kill the terrorists who  give the orders to fire the missiles, not only the missile launchers.  In other words, to kill Gaza's political leaders who meet
every Saturday afternoon for their weekly meeting, where they decide where and when to terrorize  Jews.

For some reason, HaNegbi's suggestion has not been picked up.

At the  same, time, at least 800 homes here in Sderot have no protected rooms where someone  can take cover during a missile attack. Prime Minister Olmert has vetoed the offer  of a private philanthropist to  fund  to install these protected rooms. Why?

Olmert's office does not answer as to why he places 800 families in a life threatening situation in their own homes

Yet  the unkindest cut of all came from Washington.

On Thursday,  the US State Department issued a strong statement to warn Israel to show concern for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. A call placed on Friday to the US embassy to ask whether the US State Department would issue a statement about the humanitarian crisis in Sderot and the Western Negev went unanswered.

Meanwhile, not one Jewish group and not one human rights organization issued a single statement of protest or horror about our city under siege.

RKNEWS COMMENT:  News media, papers, magazines, television, and radio, all responded to the Hamas propaganda blast accusing Israel of denying electricity, food, warmth to Gaza City Arabs.  The truth was that Hamas themselves closed of the electricity supplied by the Israeli Grid from Israeli power plants.  In the south, some of the power comes from the Egyptian Grid.   So who was denying the Palestinians electricity, food, warmth: Hamas, of course.

Do Gaza's people know this? Probably, but the power of rumor and propaganda within Arab communities is far more powerful than even the visible evidence of facts proving otherwise.  For this reason, it is easy to simply spread a rumor and the people will be in the streets shouting for blood.....except from their own leaders.   In any case, they actively and vociferously support Hamas.

If you watch, you will see this phenomenen among the majority of the Arab population in every country in the world -- including Europe and the US -- no matter what the surrounding culture or how long they have been there. This is in direct relation to the poverty, education, and of the isolation of the population from the corridors of power. (It's something like the wild conspiracy theories among the poor in all countries -- not to include the informed knowledge of real conspiracies that DO exist in those same corridors of power! :-s)

Even Israeli media outlets published articles stating that the problem was caused by the Israeli blockade: a blockade like a sieve not a siege!  10's of patients were transferred from Gaza to Israeli hospitals everyday -- the Hamas would have them die for the sake of propaganda! To the amazement of everyone, the number of rockets and katyushas fired into Israel dwindled from 40-60 per day to a mere 4 or 5.

Then, though the food stock was sufficient, Hamas declared there was none, so Israel sent in food aid. Then Israel sent in fuel.

However, as Israel began to supply food and fuel, the number jumped immediate to ~20 and continuing to increase.   Egypt cried foul, but shot 90 Gazans trying to come out of Gaza into Egypt . Eventually they were overrun and thousands continue to flee into Egypt....hmmm, isn't that an ARAB country?

But then, the Arabs in Israel would find the gates closed and the welcome mat missing if they tried to go into Jordan...or Lebanon....or Syria....or Saudi Arabia....or Iran.... The list goes on. How many Arab countries can you name that will refuse them entry?  If that's too hard, then how many Arab countries can you name that WILL let them in? (Europe and the Americas don't count.)

Now of course the UN must solve the problem.....that should provide work for the certain parasites in New York for a few days.

A sampling of the headlines of the 20th of January ....in case you missed one:
(You may note that, buried at some point down near the middle or end of the article, the reporters  may mention that the blockade is in retaliation for Hamas rocket fire; they may even mention that, between them,  Egypt and Israeli supply 75% of Gaza's power, supplies which continue to flow!)

In fairness, she does blame Hamas "ultimately" but apparently has no idea that Hamas cruelly closed down all Gaza City power without cause.

RKNEWS COMMENT:  We are bombarded constantly with warnings and threats on every level from those to our health, life and liberty to national and global disaster.  We have had to become somewhat inured to them in an effort to maintain some kind of normal day-to-day life.  In many places, the only really safe place would be a cave with spring water where we could grow our own food, etc.  (Osama sure seems to survive!)

However, while I apologize for adding another warning, it seems an appropriate time to pass on some tips for protecting yourself in cyberspace. Some you may know, but they bear repeating, as I know many of you have already suffered some of these attacks.

TIPS FOR AVOIDING IDENTITY THEFT

The best way to hunker down under the barrage of cyber attacks is to check your antivirus/internet security programs, anti-spyware, etc.  Always use the most secure settings possible that will still allow you to use the internet comfortably. Use antivirus filters on both incoming and outgoing e-mails. Use spam filters and web site filters. Set your chat windows so that you are be visible only to known contacts. (And, incidentally, protect your privacy by unplugging or disabling your webcam when you are not using it.)

IMPORTANT:  NO EMAIL IS PRIVATE.  Anyone can copy, edit, forward, and use YOUR e-mail in any way they choose at any time in the future! Do not write anything in an e-mail that you wouldn't want to see in  your local newspaper. Also, remember, any e-mail you write from your company  could potentially be used in litigation.  All e-mail / internet transmissions can be intercepted for technical, security or criminal reasons at any time, locally or internationally, by individuals, governments, and groups.

1.      Beware of opening e-mails you are not absolutely sure about and don't open spam. The sender may be phishing for your personal information for identity theft.

2.      Turn ON your programs' ability to check all incoming and outgoing e-mail.

3.      Do not click on links in incoming e-mails or from websites to banks or companies which hold personal information about you.  If the message contains a warning or it requests information and appears to come from a bank or company with which you have business and you need to check it out, do NOT click the link. Instead,

a.      Open your web browser.

b.      Do NOT cut and paste the link from the email or other website. Type the URL (address) of the website yourself.

c.      After checking the real company site, if you think the email or web link was a counterfeit, NOTIFY the company of the spam or phishing attempt.

4.      Never send personal information (usernames, passwords, or credit card numbers) in unencrypted e-mails.

5.      Do not send long lists of recipients in the "to:" field of your emails. If you have more than a couple of recipients, put them in the "bcc:" field for privacy. (Phishers collect names from the "to:" fields and use these recognizable e-mail names and addresses to spam you and others.

6.      If you wish to forward a non-business message, erase the previous senders and recipients in order to avoid compromising THEIR privacy.

There are many other suggestions for safe use of the internet. The site below is a reliable US government site with concise information for non-technical users. It provides tips as well as explanations on most security-related subjects. (This is a safe link: You may click on it or just type it into your browser.)

DEBKAfile Exclusive: Al Qaeda declares Cyber Jihad on the West

October 30, 2007, 9:23 AM (GMT+02:00)

www.debka.com

In a special Internet announcement in Arabic, picked up DEBKAfile's counter-terror sources, Osama bin Laden's followers announced Monday, Oct. 29, the launching of Electronic Jihad. On Sunday, Nov. 11, al Qaeda's electronic experts will start attacking Western, Jewish, Israeli, Muslim apostate and Shiite Web sites. On Day One, they will test their skills against 15 targeted sites expand the operation from day to day thereafter until hundreds of thousands of Islamist hackers are in action against untold numbers of anti-Muslim sites.

DEBKAfile's counter-terror sources report that, shortly after the first announcement, some of al Qaeda's own Web sites went blank, apparently crashed by the American intelligence computer experts tracking them.

The next day, Oct. 30, they were up again, claiming their Islamic fire walls were proof against infidel assault.

They also boasted an impenetrable e-mail network for volunteers wishing to join up with the cyber jihad to contact and receive instructions undetected by the security agencies in their respective countries.

Our sources say the instructions come in simple language and are organized in sections according to target. They offer would-be martyrs, who for one reason or another are unable to fight in the field, to fulfill their jihad obligations on the Net. These virtual martyrs are assured of the same thrill and sense of elation as a jihadi on the "battlefield."

In effect, say DEBKAfile's counter-terror experts, al Qaeda is retaliating against Western intelligence agencies' tactics, which detect new terrorist sites and zap them as soon as they appear. Until now, the jihadists kept dodging the assault by throwing up dozens of new sites simultaneously. This kept the trackers busy and ensured that some of the sites survived, while empty pages were promptly replaced. But as al Qaeda's cyber wizards got better at keeping its presence on the Net for longer periods, so too did Western counter-attackers at knocking them down. Now Bin Laden's cyber legions are fighting back. The electronic war they have declared could cause considerable trouble on the world's Internet.

RKNEWS COMMENT:   HEADLINE: 60 SOLDIERS WOUNDED, ONE IN CRITICAL CONDITION FOLLOWING GAZA QASSAM ATTACK ON BASE. Hamas and their cohorts have continuously lobbed Qassam rockets over the eastern and northern borders of Gaza. They wanted the right to run their own little fiefdom and so they do. Now their people are mostly starving and frequently without the amenities necessary for minimal existence.  However, it is certainly not their fault: Before they were in control, it was Israel's fault. Now they are in control and it's still Israel who is at fault.

Now as they turn their population centers into military bases and missile launching sites, they kill their own children even as they kill Israeli children. Their own children they turn into martyrs while killing Israeli children makes them invincible, important, the center of world media attention, and the recipients of millions of dollars in Arab and UN monies.

If Israel hits back, she is the neighborhood bully. If she doesn't, she appears to lack the will to fight, a wimp waiting for every new attack to justify another diplomatic "surrender for peace".

Today's headlines will scream about the Hamas success in hitting an Israeli base and speak in hushed tones about the possibility of a fearsome Israeli response. This they will hasten to criticize as overreaction and a violation of human rights. Then the government will wring its collective hands and send futile mea culpa messages to various and sundry respective prime ministers, presidents, and UN officials.

I'm not a prophet….I just read the news.  (see below)

"60 IDF troops hurt in Qassam strike on base

By Mijal Grinberg, Haaretz Correspondent, and Agencies

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/902929.htm

"At least 60 Israel Defense Forces soldiers were wounded in the early hours of Tuesday morning when a Qassam rocket fired from the Gaza Strip struck an IDF basic training base near Kibbutz Zikim, about 1 kilometer inside Israeli territory.

"According to Army Radio, the rocket hit a tent in which soldiers in basic training were sleeping.

"Ten of the wounded were in moderate condition, and another 10 sustained light wounds.

"In the wake of the attack, at least 24 Magen David Adom ambulances rushed to the base in the northern Negev.

"Preliminary reports indicate that Tuesday's early morning attack would mark the largest number of injuries sustained in a single Qassam attack against Israel. "

*********************************************************

RKNEWS COMMENT:  For about seven years, Sderot and other communities near Gaza have suffered 12 deaths from consistent rockets. Since these rockets are not easily controlled, no one can ever estimate the likely targets of the next incoming barrage. Last week one hit the school grounds of a day care center and not far from a local middle school. There were calls for various punitive actions by Israel, but only the usual, ineffective bombings of terrorists' cars, launching sites, etc. were carried out.

There was no willingness on the part of the Israeli government to declare a siege though it is absolutely within Israel's power.  The majority of the local population elected and supports the terrorist paramilitary in Gaza.  If there were ever justification for a siege, this would be it.

Israel must find the will to defend herself. If she doesn't, no one else will.

"Fifty soldiers were wounded after Palestinians fired a Kassam rocket into Israel on Monday night.

"The rocket struck inside an IDF basic training camp in Zikim, located one kilometer north of the Gaza Strip. The Kassam landed next to a tent in which a group of soldiers were sleeping.

"Twenty ambulances were alerted to the scene, south of Ashkleon, where they are accompanied by two helicopters responsible for evacuating the wounded.

"The Nasr Salah al-Din Brigades, the Palestinian Resistance Committee's armed wing, claimed responsibility for the attack. The IDF, who confirmed the attack, said that the rockets were fired from Beit Hanun."

How many of our moral values and how much of our sense of right and wrong are based on subconscious memory of lessons learned as children?
RKNEWS COMMENT:   The internet, newspapers, and television talk shows are all abuzz:  Researchers at the Weizmann Institute of Science have found a way to control long-term (and short-term) memory.

Using rats for experimentation, they trained them to avoid a certain taste.  Then with one injection, they were able to replace (or erase) that memory as if it had never existed. It didn't matter if the injection was immediate or a month later, the effect was the same.

It has always been assumed that long-term memory, once absorbed  became part of us and was always "there". If a person forgot it was only because they had lost the ability to access the memory and perhaps needed something to "jog" the memory or work around to it from other memory associations.

The new findings seem to disprove this long-held understanding.  Whether the memory location is emptied of the first content or whether the succeeding activities overwrite a new memory in the same area due to an injection of the inhibitor is still unclear:  The fact is that it is gone.

This is a no less a terrifying development than the nuclear bomb. Forces for good can use this technique for helping and healing. However, even in a positive sense some memories we would like to forget may indeed be an important part of who we are and why we behave as we do  – read: learning!

Forces for evil will of course find a way to use such a tool to gain power and wealth.  Picture a million-man army of humans who have no memories of (thus no attachments to…)  family or friends or moral lessons learned during childhood. Picture criminals who with one shot could erase the memory of witnesses.

Picture the leaders of a nation – or the majority of its citizens – with no historical,  cultural or traditional memory.  How many of our moral values and how much of our sense of right and wrong are based on conscious and subconscious memories of lessons learned as children.

We are confronting a truly Brave New World.  I have no idea how we will cope with it. Given the propensity for those with evil inclination to overcome others, it will become very difficult for moral man to survive.

Drug found to erase memories in rats

"The molecule is an enzyme called PKMzeta. An enzyme is a protein molecule that causes changes in other proteins. PKMzeta lies in synapses, contact points between nerve cells where they pass messages to each other in the brain. The enzyme causes the structure of these contacts points to change subtly.

"But the molecule must be persistently active to maintain this change, researchers found. Learning brings about this activity. Silencing PKMzeta reverses the change: regardless of the taste the rats were trained to avoid, they forgot their learned aversion after one injection of the drug.

"The technique worked as successfully a month after the memories were formed, equivalent to years for a human, the researchers said. All signs so far indicate that the unpleasant memories were gone, they added. "This drug is a molecular version of jamming the operation of the machine," said Dudai. RKNEWS COMMENT:  The Army of the People: It's an army of rich and poor, religious and secular, of the sons and daughters of farmers, bankers and immigrants. In the beginning they spoke so many languages that the broken newly-learned Hebrew was the only way to communicate.

After 2000 years, the nascent nation-state could finally field an army of old and young to build and defend. Everyone served in this Army of the People, and in spite of their often ragtag appearance, their tendency to make up strategy as they went, and the fact that they often disregarded the orders of generals, they fought side-by-side.

And this very People's Army won wars they should have lost.  They went forward on the strength of the need to defend their homeland, HOME being just as important to them as the LAND.  They were brazen, gutsy and sometimes fearless in their determination to defend the Jewish Nation that was being replanted in the ancient dust of Zion.

This Army of the People is endangered today -- not by the young soldiers of conscience who refuse to lend a hand to tearing Jews from their land, but by the very politicians and generals who are determined to give such destructive orders.

This Army of the People was formed to fight an external enemy, not a propaganda-created internal enemy.

So, these young soldiers will pay the price; they should never have been forced into the position of choosing.  Would that a significant number of soldiers would stand at their side, regardless of their political leanings, to force the generals to reconsider what they are doing.

We are facing another war, probably sooner than later:  How will an Army purged of its loyal core be strong enough to stand against the enemy?

It's frightening to behold: If those who believe in the HOMELAND are judged, imprisoned or mustered out, who will remain to fight?  Only those who won't want to fight for a HOMELAND they don't believe they have a right to! It will no longer be a People's Army that fights for Israel; it will be a weakened Army, a tool of politicians determined to compromise at first opportunity.

As our society goes, so goes the Army.....and so goes the nation.

It's the politicians and generals themselves who are endangering the very foundations of our People's Army-- and Israeli Democracy such as it is.

August 6th, 2007 IDF SPOKESPERSON ANNOUNCEMENT

Soldiers who refused orders to be trialed This morning several soldiers at the "Kfir" Brigade training base expressed to their commanders their objection to carrying out the unit's operational orders. They said that these orders indirectly assisted the evacuation of the Hebron wholesale market.

Despite conversations between the soldiers and their commanders, two squad commanders and ten other soldiers stated that they would refuse to carry out their orders. The GOC Central Command, Major General Gadi Shamni, decided that the soldiers in question will stand disciplinary trials and will be removed from combat duty.

Major General Shamni stated that "this phenomenon endangers the foundations on which the IDF operates, being the people's army in a democratic state, which is obligated to carry out any mission given to it".

The IDF views such incidents with severity and will handle them accordingly.

RKNEWS COMMENT:   It is Memorial Day in Israel. The memories which once were of the fallen during the 1940's-50's; the Six-Day War, the Yom Kippur War, and even the Peace for Galilee War are replaced by stories of those who fell last summer in the 2nd Lebanese War.

This year tears are fresh, the orphaned children are not yet grown, some are not yet old enough to understand.  We mourn with songs and poems which express the seemingly unending sadness , the ever-present burden of wars, terrorism and more wars.  And even as we mourn, the evil shadow of war creeps closer from the north, the west and all around us, threatening to encompass us even before these tears are dried.

Sometimes it is impossible to grasp the fact that there is truly a whole people beside and among us who have no desire to live in peace and quiet, and to prosper.  How can thousands and thousands and hundreds of thousands of common people be so overcome with the fires of hatred that the normal human drive to survive is sublimated and burned into cold black ashes within?

During the Inquisition, the Holocaust and numerous pogroms between, there was indeed no place to run and no place to hide.  Now that we have such a place, the only tiny place on earth where we have an ancient right to be, we are forced to take a stand. This is the only place on earth we can defend.

This is the last place to run to, the last place to hide....our last place to be. The alternative is not to 'be' at all,  for nowhere is there assurance that the fire of senseless hatred is completely extinguished.

Before such a driven enemy, we must not flee, but must once again and continuously fight to hold our ancient land. And, if we humble ourselves, knowing our own weakness, if we can find faith, knowing our own faithlessness, and  in the face of it all we dare to pray, perhaps the Most High will have mercy and  fight on our behalf as He did in '48, '67 and '73.

We need G-d's help no less now than then to withstand once more the senseless threat of annihilation bearing down upon us.

With the Almighty's  help, the incomprehensible,  murderous spirit of enmity toward  the House of Israel will be denied its victory once again.

Iran-Lebanon

Israeli Foreign Ministry

Behind the Headlines -- Hizbullah leader declares: We get our orders from Teheran Sunday, 22 April, 2007

Iran is the major destabilizing force in the Middle East today. From supplying arms, money, training and support for terrorist groups such as Hizbullah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, to the promotion of extremist Islamic revolutionary ideology, the clerical regime in Teheran is bent on sowing unrest throughout the region. Determined to cause the annihilation of Israel, suicide terrorism plays an important role in the Iranian regime's war against Israel and the West. The regime's spiritual theoreticians utilize religion to both recruit suicide bombers and to justify their actions. Iran's involvement in the actual operations has always been kept vague, in order to protect the regime's image in the international arena.

But now, for the first time, a linkage officially confirming active Iranian support of these operations has been made public. The Lebanon-based Hizbullah terrorist organization has declared that all terrorist attacks, suicide bombings and other operations against Israel must first be authorized by the Teheran regime before they can be carried out. This, in effect, places the responsibility for these attacks squarely on Iran.
. . . . . . . . .

After Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's widely publicized denial of the Holocaust, his declared intention to annihilate Israel, and his declarations regarding Iran's nuclear ambitions, these newest revelations leave little doubt that Ahmadinejad and his cleric regime are purposely pursuing a policy by which Teheran hopes to engulf the region in Jihadist violence.

RKNEWS comment:  Would it surprise you to know that Bethlehem is now Muslim in majority, rule, and culture?  Would it surprise you to know that the Muslims in Nazareth tried to take over property owned by a church claiming it was a "historical site" for them? or that they have succeeded in taking over other lands in the area they control, Jewish or Christian?

Well, it's not a result of slow-growing population change or the the take over of a city by overt warfare -- not that most of the world would care if either were the case. It's a case of theft, intimidation, brutality and terror. Don't you find it interesting that the same world that sympathizes with the "poor oppressed Palestinians", claiming Israel has stolen their lands, cannot find time, energy or caring to support the minority Palestinian Christians and demand they they be given THEIR civil rights?  Where are the Human Rights gurus or could it be that their prejudice against Christianity causes them to turn a blind eye?

It happened in South Lebanon that the Muslims drove out the majority of Christians. The Christian world did nothing;   we see the result.

Now it's happening in Israel. And the world does nothing. We will see the result here as well.

Bethlehem Muslim gang accused of using stolen documents to grab Christians' land
Khaled Abu Toameh, THE JERUSALEM POST
April 20, 2007

Dozens of Christian families from the Bethlehem area are about to discover that their homes and lands have been "sold" to Muslims without their knowledge, Palestinian Authority security officials said Thursday.

The officials told The Jerusalem Post that members of a local Muslim gang have been arrested on suspicion of stealing land and property registration documents from the Bethlehem Magistrate's Court.

Bethlehem Governor Salah Ta'mari confirmed that an investigation was under way to determine who was behind the theft. He said most of the stolen documents belonged to families living abroad.

A Christian businessman told the Post that most of the victims were Christian families living in the US and Latin America. "They are stealing our homes almost every day," he said. "We believe the suspects have been receiving help from some Palestinian security officers here."

The scam was uncovered when court officials complained that many files relating to cases involving ownership of property had disappeared, a security official said.

Initially, police thought thieves had broken into the court and stolen the files, he added. However, further investigation revealed that the theft was an inside job. Three court employees and five land dealers were later arrested in connection with the case.

The official refused to reveal the land brokers' identities, but sources in the city said some of them were not real land dealers.

"These are people with close ties to the Palestinian security forces," the sources said. "We have written to the Palestinian Authority demanding a full inquiry. This is one of the biggest scandals in Bethlehem and many families are very worried that they may lose their property."

"The phenomenon of forging land registration documents has existed in Bethlehem for nearly 15 years," Ta'mari said. "We have resisted attempts to hinder the investigation and we are determined to fully pursue our efforts."

Ta'mari said one common method of land theft was as follows: Someone forges ownership of a piece of land and registers it under his name. Then an accomplice pretends he has illegally seized the land.

The first person sues the accomplice, using the forged documents. The court then rules in favor of the first person, turning him into the "legal" owner. The proceedings take place without the knowledge of the real owner, who usually lives abroad.

This is the first time the PA has acted against land thieves in Bethlehem. The arrests have aroused hope within the local Christian minority that the investigation will lead to the restoration of their land.

In January, it was first reported in the Post that Muslim gangsters, including a number of top PA security officers, had illegally seized Christian-owned property in Bethlehem and its surroundings.

In an interview with the Post, an elderly Christian couple, Fuad and Georgette Lama, complained that the gang had laid its hands on their six-dunam, or 1.5 acre, plot in the Karkafa suburb south of Bethlehem. "A lawyer and an official with the Palestinian Authority just came and took our land," said 69-year-old Georgette.

Senior PA security officers subsequently offered to help them kick out the intruders. "We paid them $1,000 so they could help us regain our land," she said. "Instead of giving us back our land, they simply decided to keep it for themselves. They even destroyed all the olive trees and divided the land into small plots, apparently so that they could offer each for sale."

When her 72-year-old husband, Fuad, went to the property to ask the intruders to leave, he was severely beaten and threatened with guns.

"My husband is after heart surgery and they still beat him," she said. "These people have no heart. We're afraid to go to our land because they will shoot at us. Ever since the beating, my husband is in a state of trauma and has difficulties talking."

The Lamas said they decided to go public in the hope that the international community would intervene with the PA to halt the land-grab. "We will fight and fight until we recover our land," said the husband. "We will resort to the courts and to public opinion for help.

"Unfortunately, Christian leaders and spokesmen are afraid to talk about the problems we are facing. We know of three other Christian families - Salameh, Kawwas and Asfour - whose lands were also illegally seized by Muslims," Fuad Lama said.

RKNEWS COMMENT:

Wars that start with invasions, wars that start with massive missile bombardments and visions of "shock and awe" make for great TV and get everyone's attention. Every man, woman and child on the planet then knows that there is a WAR.

Most wars, however, start as stealthy incursions or as localized attacks, some obviously meant to terrorize and some meant to anonymously damage economic stability and industrial infrastructure In this way, it's easier for the instigator to justify and gain sympathy for his actions--and more so if the bigger and stronger injured party retaliates.

By Western accounts, this is World War III. Whether it is acknowledged as such or not won't change the fact of it, but it will likely decide whether the West has the will to fight and the determination to win.

By Eastern accounts this is not a new war; it is a continuation of the ancient jihad for Muslim domination and establishment of a world-wide Islamic caliphate—by Sunnis as Al Qaeda wishes or by Shi'is as Iran is planning.  Employing a tactic common to Eastern culture, the ideological forces fell back,  taking  some generations to consolidate their power for this war.

Meanwhile, Islamic governments have achieved near technological parity with the West using their nearly limitless wealth and a skill for self-preserving negotiation honed over more than 2 millennia of strife. They have used the time to educate their children and grandchildren in a supremacist ideology framed by hatred for the "other". They have learned how best to conduct their warfare from watching the powerful West flee from ragtag guerrillas in localized wars and they have learned from the Western victory over Germany in WWII not to take on a united West in a head-on war.

That they have learned well is very clear if one looks at Iraq and the strategy of the enemy forces there:  fade away, strike unexpectedly, vary methods and armaments, move command posts from locality to locality while everywhere using the civilian as both buffer and target populations.  They have naught to lose by doing so for according to Islamic ideology, Muslims who die in their strikes will go to heaven as martyrs.  Death for Islam is the highest goal for every Muslim.

In order to divert attention from the international span of the real war and break down the natural unity of the non-Muslim enemy, Islamic leaders are forcing the focus of the fighting and propaganda on the "aggression of the West" in Iraq.  In this they are ably and generously aided by the extreme liberal media and politicians in the West who have intentionally or not become the West's fifth column.   The Islamist side has the advantage in that they fight for an ideology, while the West today is over-sensitive to criticism, too politically correct and is too weakened by exaggerated diversity to even proclaim a coherent, unifying ideology, let alone fight for one.

Lest one be misled, the American proclamation of "Democracy for All Peoples" is today an empty shell drawing fire from even her own citizens and natural allies.

The number willing to die to "democratize the world" is dwindling by the day under the pressure of anti-Western propaganda flowing out of ignorant Western pens and their puppets, the talking heads.

WWIII has crept up on the whole world, from the back, from the sides, and from within.  On the home front, in order to weaken the Western Judeo-Christian ideological base, an Islamic local citizenry who make no attempt to disavow jihad has been built up in most Western countries over the years. In this way powerful and influential pressure groups with significant voting power can exploit concern about offending "non-aggressive" local Muslim citizens.

It is not uncommon for even non-sympathetic citizens of a country to be coerced into actively assisting the enemy.  There is NO neutrality in war. Those who loudly proclaim it have made some concessions, some conciliation with the stronger side leaving it in the interest of both sides to support the sham.

The West may learn too late:  It isn't the Islamic theocracy's war to win from without;
I
t's the Judeo-Christian democracy's war to lose from within.

Israeli tank unit pulls back after exchange of fire with Lebanese forces over its bomb-clearing mission in small enclave between fence and frontier

February 8, 2007, 7:04 AM (GMT+02:00)

The mission was completed amid high border tension after Lebanese troops opened fire Wednesday night, Feb. 7, on the Israel tank, APC, bulldozer unit which crossed into the tiny Israeli enclave between the security fence and Lebanese border. Israel tanks returned fire at Lebanese position.

No casualties are reported.

The mission was ordered two days after Hizballah planted four shaped explosives in the enclave, which is situated opposite Moshav Avivim, to trap Israel border patrols. They were safely detonated.

DEBKAfile's military sources report: During the day, Wednesday, Israeli gave UNIFIL and the Lebanese army advance notice of the mission. Lebanese officers threatened to fire on the Israeli unit if it crossed the fence, although the enclave is sovereign Israeli territory south of the Blue Line frontier. OC Northern Command Maj.Gen Gady Eisenkott warned that if Israeli soldiers were hurt in the course of cleansing the area of bombs, his unit would return the fire against Lebanese army targets.

Wednesday night, as tension built up, Israel's Magen David alerted all first aid services in the north in case Lebanese troops or Hizballah went on the offensive.

The four shaped bombs planted Monday, of the type used against US and British soldiers in Iraq, came from forbidden arms caches at new Hizballah positions erected close to the Israeli border in the Aytarun and Maroun al-Ras area, in violation of the UN ceasefire. They have not been dismantled either by the Lebanese army or the UN peacekeepers.

It seems the UN has a large herd that are either actively seeking prey or just keeping warm and well fed in the barn, safe from those higher up the food chain.

IDF: UNIFIL enabled Hizbullah to plant border bombs Yaakov Katz, THE JERUSALEM POST Feb. 5, 2007 www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1170359786340&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

Defense officials slammed UNIFIL and the Lebanese government Monday night, claiming that their "slackness" was what enabled Hizbullah to plant five deadly explosive devices along the border between Israel and Lebanon. IDF officials said it was possible that the bombs were planted as part of a planned kidnapping attack similar to the July 12 abduction of reservists Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser that sparked the war this past summer.

Defense Minister Amir Peretz transmitted a harsh-worded message to UNIFIL command in Lebanon and urged the peacekeeping force to crack down on Hizbullah and prevent the guerrilla group from returning to the border and carrying out attacks against Israel.

The Northern Command assessed that the bombs found on Monday, just north of Avivim and right along the Blue Line international border between Israel and Lebanon, were planted there only a few days ago by Hizbullah.

Soldiers from Engineering Battalion 630 under the command of Lt.-Col. Eran Pauker discovered one of the explosive devices during a routine patrol along the border. The bombs - weighing between 15 to 20 kilograms each - were made of high-grade explosives and were disguised as boulders to blend in with the rocky terrain.

"We are deployed well along the border and do all we can to prevent Hizbullah from even getting close to Israel," said Pauker. "Due to bad weather, however, it is possible for them to get close to the border without us or UNIFIL noticing."

The soldiers did not cross the border, but instead detonated the bombs by shooting at them from a distance. IDF sources in the Northern Command described the incident as "an operational success," claiming that in the past it had sometimes taken the IDF months to discover Hizbullah bombs and bunkers along the border.

According to Pauker, the IDF was operating under the assumption that Hizbullah had succeeded in planting additional bombs along the Israeli-Lebanese border. He estimated that the stormy weather and fog served as cover for Hizbullah terrorists when planting the five bombs along the border several days ago.

While UNIFIL could do more to prevent Hizbullah from launching attacks against Israel, Pauker said that IDF units were well deployed along the border and were backed up by various electronic and technological devices that assisted in detecting border infiltrations.

Two weeks ago, IDF troops from Pauker's battalion destroyed two Hizbullah bunkers that were discovered during searches of the area between the security fence and the Blue Line. The bunkers were used by Hizbullah during the war and were filled with supplies, food and tools.

RKNEWS COMMENT:  Deals, deals, deals.   The Arabs have never honored a treaty of any kind in the spirit in which it was intended -- with the possible exception of Jordan.  Even Syria, who is now planning an attack on the Golan (building faux apartment buildings along the border, etc.) has not kept its treaty, but has used Hizbollah as it's proxy for attacks on Israel.

So, now, we offer more: money to Fatah, guns to Fatah, the Palestinian paramilitary units in the West Bank from Jordan, fewer checkpoints, you name it, all on a silver platter.  Deal? This isn't even a deal! No demands. All free.

And for Israel's part, who has to approve it? Olmert says it, it's done.  If there is a cabinet vote, it's but a rubber stamp.  We are at Olmert's (and Defense – what a misnomer! -- Minister Peretz.

PM agrees to transfer $100 million in frozen PA taxes to Abbas

By Aluf Benn, Avi Issacharoff and Yoav Stern, Haaretz Correspondents, and Agencies Last update

23:15 23/12/2006 www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/804608.html

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert agreed Saturday during a meeting with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that Israel will make some concessions to help bolster the PA chairman, who is in a power struggle with the ruling Islamic militant group Hamas.

The leaders concluded two-hour talks at the Prime Minister's Residence in Jerusalem on Saturday evening.

Olmert informed Abbas that Israel would transfer $100 million from frozen taxes collected on behalf of the PA. The funds will be transferred directly to Abbas, and not to the Hamas-led government.

Chief Palestinian Liberation Organization negotiator Saeb Erekat confirmed during a press conference Saturday evening in Ramallah that Israel has agreed transfer the funds for humanitarian purposes. Erekat said the two sides also agreed that NIS 35 million would be transferred to hospitals in East Jerusalem.

The funds transfer will not occur immediately, but rather will be dependent on the establishment of a mechanism to ensure the money is used for the purposes intended by Abbas, and does not end up in the hands of Hamas.

Erekat said the summit between Abbas and Olmert is the first in a series of meetings.

Olmert also agreed to remove several West Bank checkpoints, and reexamine security procedures at the Karni commercial crossing between Israel and the Gaza Strip, in order to facilitate to movement of goods into Gaza.

The prime minister emphasized during the meeting that no Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails will be freed prior to the release of captured Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit, held since June 25 by several Palestinian militant groups. Nonetheless, Olmert did agree to reestablish a joint committee with the PA to discuss prisoner releases.

According to Erekat, Abbas asked Olmert to release members of the Palestinian Legislative Council from Hamas, as well as renew a past agreement not to pursue wanted militants.

Israel has also agreed in principle to allow Egypt to provide Abbas'

security forces with weapons as well as allow the PLO's Badr Brigade to enter the territories. The brigade is currently stationed in Jordan.

Olmert also warned Abbas that given the continued Qassam rocket fire, it will be difficult for Israel to maintain its policy of restraint. Responding to a request by the Palestinian delegation to extend the cease-fire to the West Bank, Olmert said the Palestinians must first demonstrate an ability to uphold the truce in Gaza.

Officials described the meeting as a private one, and therefore the two leaders did not hold a press conference.

Abbas and Olmert met informally on the sidelines of a conference in Jordan earlier this year, but the PA chairman's last formal meeting with an Israeli prime minister was in February 2005, when Ariel Sharon held the post.

Olmert emerged from his official residence in Jerusalem to greet Abbas. The two shook hands and also kissed each other on the cheek. Abbas was then introduced to Olmert's wife Aliza, an artist known for her dovish views.

The two leaders took seats opposite one another at a long table, set for a meal and covered by white cloth. Israeli and Palestinian flags served as table decorations.

In a speech at a memorial ceremony for David Ben-Gurion last month, Olmert said that he would "invite Abu Mazen [Abbas] to meet with me immediately, in order to conduct a real, open, genuine and serious dialogue between us."

RKNEWS COMMENTS:    Names like the Sea of Galilee, or even the story of Moses were like the fictional places and characters in a barely remembered movie. They found only the names Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Nazareth familiar. The instructors and international gathering of students had absolutely no historical, geographic or modern political knowledge of Israel.

So, what's my point?

How on earth can we expect the average educated person to support Israel's battle for existence when they are so ill-informed? How can we expect them to differentiate between Palestinian propaganda and the truth when their news media does not report most of the news, and what is reported is totally biased?  So, why should they care?  The fact is, most of them don't.

It doesn't matter which country we visited. We could write the same about nearly every place we have been. It's natural for most people to be busy with their own lives. However, we can't afford to give blind trust to world leaders and the media. If too many of us ignore what's happening in the world around us, we may find one day that it has stopped….suddenly.

The Islamic threats, the weapons and the hatred are real and they threaten all of us! So, what's the answer? Get involved, pay attention to what your world leaders are doing.  Make sure your friends and neighbors know what's going on, especially in Israel and the Middle East, for the next conflict is being planned for HERE. Russia and China are running proxy wars already to test the limits. The US has arms stashed here and all three are arming this or that side with the latest and most destructive devices man has dreamed up.

Do everything YOU can, and pray God blesses our efforts and has mercy on this earth.

Mossad: Syria arming Hizbullah rapidly

Mossad Chief Meir Dagan told the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that Syria is arming Hizbullah at a rapid pace and is working to overthrow the Lebanese government and destabilize the American presence in the region.

As to the Iranian nuclear crisis, Dagan said Tehran is having technical difficulties in developing its nuclear program, adding that the international community is not applying pressure on the Islamic Republic.
