This competition, organised by the South East Community Development
Council--y2y network, is called the Youth Model 2006. I'm one of few
planning and executing this project, which is going to be launched
on island-wide in July.

This model-search contest may sound like a usual pageant, but it is
not.. Heard of "the apprentice"? This competition is one which
engenders the format of this reality programme. Besides the
conventional fashion segment (yes, where you get to catwalk on stage
in Singapore Fashion Week, and all your photoshoots on magazines),
contestants will also put judged through thier individual concpet
plans (projects to benefit the community, reach out to youths
etc...), a youth forum, community visits, ideas on Saving the
Planet, group project, and even a grilling question-and-answer
session.

The ultimate result?

Winner of this Youth Model 2006 will be crowned the "Youth Model
2006" and get up to $4000 worth of prizes, a one-year model
contract, fashion spread on local teens magazines (teenage confirm
got!), and a cover story.. "Youth Model 2006" will be a youth icon
known to the youth community of Singapore and be a role model for
our youths be it in fashion, community involvement, projects or even
having fun! Yep... So basically it means being a star and everyone
knowing you...

This competition will be documented like the apprentice and teenage
will be covering it every month until the finals on Dec 28 this
year.. There also many events included in this competition such as
the Singapore Fahion Fiesta where you might find yourself being one
of the models on stage!

As one of the organizers for this competition, i would like to see
this project succeed too.. But firstly, i would need participants!

So,
What are you good-looking peeps, boys and girls, waiting for now?
Come forth and participate! Who knows you might be the next
community youth icon, Youth Model 2006! Don't the prizes sound
attrative? (i would participate too if i''m not organizing it...)

if until now, you still seriously think you can't, or really don't
want to participate, then please help spread this good word to the
good-looking peeps you know! my boss hinted that RJC students would
have a good chance in this contest as we are supposedly the elites
in Singapore who can take charge of our studies, lives and
everything well.. It would be good if one of us can make it to being
the role model of the youth community in SIngapore...
