A group for and of motorized bicycle enthusiast who see the fun and practical side of a 130 to 200 mpg bicycle they can ride in these times of high fuel cost. In Cuba young men have built these motorized bicycles for years to have fast affordable transportation and have given them a name,
Riquimbili, which sounds like "Rick & Billy" when pronounced in English.
The translation means, "not bicycle or motorcycle".
If you enjoy working on or building bicycles to motorize them, then this is the Yahoo Group for you. It's also the first Riquimbili Group here at Yahoo. A Do it yourself builder can motorize a bike using a motor from a string trimmer, a chain saw motor, or use other lawn implement motors to build a motorized bike quite inexpensively. If a Chinese motor kit is purchased it can be installed on an old bicycle you have laying around and within a couple weeks of riding it you'll save enough in fuel cost to pay for the project. Then each week after that you won't be pouring your paycheck into the tank of your car or truck.
The profile states English is the primary language but those speaking Spanish are welcome. We'll try to have some bi lingual members to help with translations.
Members can ask questions, share information, post links to other motorbicycling web sites and parts sources, tell their stories, post photos of their project bikes, add any tech files, manuals, parts list etc they have, and discuss their latest news of building or enjoying the trips they have ridden on.
