About Richmond Rivets
Richmond Rivets exists to engage all of Richmond, California in the transition from fossil fuel dependency to a resilient, interdependent community. Our vision is of a vibrant community where progress means interdependence, resourcefulness, and plenty for all. Our group will be sponsoring a fruit tree give away project and a series of entertaining and educational events to inspire the Richmond community around Transition.

About Transition Towns
The Transition Town concept originated in United Kingdom communities wanting to prepare themselves for a thriving, healthy life after petroleum. Although Transition deals with difficult topics like peak oil and climate change, its essence is a positive purpose to bring communities together around a hopeful vision of the future. Transition Towns focus on automobile independence, urban gardening, skills needed for self-reliance, and local economies.
