Slightly less than a ton of new things for you on RevolutionSF:

DESERT RED: New in RevolutionSF Fiction.

And reviews of THE WARRIOR: (Not the Ultimate one from wrestling, either.)

SILENT HILL: Our main page promo of this movie is silent as well.

SS DOOMTROOPER: Sci Fi Channel. Nazi-killing. Two enjoyable things all at
once.

THE NEW SUPERMAN TRAILER: We link to it, and WHOOO my goodness.

BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: THE NEW STAR TREK: In which I elaborate on why the new
Battlestar is doing stuff the right way.

FORGOT THE BEST: Our games editor rebukes the Origin Awards.

Thank you very much for coming to RevolutionSF. More Comics of 1986 coming
soon.

Check out our new RevolutionSF Fiction: "Welcome Back Qatar," by Chris
Nakashima-Brown. Very fun stuff, but the language is a little colorful, so
don't read it while your boss or your pastor is standing right there. The
story includes the following exchange:

"Kirk's the one I love to hate, the perfect arrogant American enemy."

"Uh, actually, he's Canadian."

"Like there's a difference. Sulu's okay, I suppose, but the real heroes are
the Klingons."

We review DELICATESSEN on DVD. There's a new RevolutionSF poll that should
remind you that your female authority figures will kill you if you forget
Mother's Day.

Two more from the COMICS OF 1986: This time it's Omaha the Cat Dancer (nice
kitties!) and Moonshadow.

Coming up: A look at HIDE AND CREEP, a zombie movie that airs on Sci Fi this
Thursday night at 6 pm Central. It was filmed five miles from my parents'
house. And it's a documentary, I think.

Thank you very much for coming to RevolutionSF.

It's online! Numbers 10 through 1 in our long, long, excruciatingly long
waiting Top 75 Women of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Horror.

We'd like to hear what you think. And we promise we'll never take two years
to finish a feature again. Except for ... well, never mind that now. Let's
just relax and read about fictional females!

Thank you very much for coming to RevolutionSF.

A few reviews coming up, and a special Mother's Day something that you can
share with your mom. (I hope she likes fun articles on Web sites.)

What other site has fiction with Robin Williams in it?

Wait. I'm sure there are some. But Mork & Mindy fanfic is not what I'm
talking about -- this time. New in RevolutionSF Fiction is Mike Sacks' Robin
Williams: Improvising For His Life. It's good and dadgum fun.

Also up -- this year's Best Moms in Sci-Fi.

A new round of contests have been answered, and a new batch are up for
grabs. This round involves Wolverine, geek history, ghosts, and Phantom
Menace.

And in reviews: DINOSAURS, the sitcom with "Not the mama." And WHEN STRIKES
THE WARLORD, a fun superhero story.

We're following the announcements of the new sci-fi shows for next TV
season, and, well, the announcements are pretty short. Coming up soon: A
list of your favorite sci-fi actors who have obtained jobs in the new TV
season.

Thanks for coming to RevolutionSF.

A ton of things for you to make with the clicky for your holiday weekend:

(Or your weekend, if you're rich and work whenever you feel like it. Can I
have 460 bucks?)

A brand new REVOLUTIONSF FICTION PODCAST: "Primary Pollinator," by Nicole
Kimberling.

REVOLUTIONSF NEWS on Lost action figures and the TV finale that made David
Hasselhoff cry.

ROLE-PLAYING GAME REVIEWS: Supplements for sci-fi and fantasy, and a new
game involving monkeys, ninjas, pirates, and robots. (Guess the name of it.)

MOVIE REVIEWS: Da Vinci Code and See No Evil are up, and I saw X-Men: The
Last Stand at midnight. If I can just fall unconscious for a minute or two,
just rest my little eyes right here...

... give or take 4,395 or so.

Tonight (Sunday June 11) on USA is the 3rd season premiere of The 4400, a
sci-fi show that's pretty dad-gum good. The site has reviews of season 1 and
2.

And there's also:

FINAL FANTASY VII: ADVENT CHILDREN. The CGI movie that doesn't have Donald
Sutherland in it.

And another NEW WHO VIEW, a look at season 2 of the BBC Dr. Who series,
several months before it gets to the U. S. of A.

And of course, you may continue to enjoy X-Men Sucks/Rocks, our feature on
all three X-Movies, and the new contests.

Oh, and the RevolutionSF news guy Joe (in other words, me) weighs in on what
the Internet stopped talking about a week ago, Gay Batwoman.

Coming up soon: A day in the life of an anime studio, a look at Sci-Fi Dads

Tonight's a big night on Sci Fi.

Note that I say it's not necessarily a GOOD night, because I dunno.

Tonight is the start of the much-feared Who Wants To Be A Superhero. Maybe they
let Stan Lee be funny. I'd love to hear what you think after you see it. You can
e-mail subspace, or you can post to our message boards.

Either way -- misery loves company.

Late tonight on Sci Fi is something called Garth Merenghi's Darkplace. It's a
British sci-fi comedy show that's supposed to be comedically terrible, but it
might be actually terrible.

One good thing I know for sure is the TV premiere of Amazing Screw-On Head,
which you can watch on Sci Fi's site already for free. But if you'd rather see
it on a TV set, then tonight's the night.

And let me say: HILARIOUS. I totally dug it. I watched it twice this morning.
After you see it, you'll be quoting from it. People who didn't see it will think
you're goofy. And that's just fun.

"Godspeed, Screw-On Head."

In the meantime, dare I suggest you enjoy Only When I Laugh: A Swamp Thing
Appreciation? It's on the site right now.

Unlike the rest of the Net, we know you still use your computers over the long
holiday, so we whomped up some Value-Added Journalism (or VAJ) for you.

A batch of new contests are up:

http://www.revolutionsf.com/contests/index.html

A new edition of Subspace, our letters page, is here, with the usual fun letters
and linkage to enjoyable things that you can click on while hiding from your
boss at work.

http://www.revolutionsf.com/article.html?id=3383

And I've whomped up a story on director Uwe Boll, who bashed Internet critics
literally months ago. So I'm way behind. Except there was a story on the
pummelings in Wired magazine this month, so there I am back on the cutting edge.

And my latest RevolutionSF Newsblast has a bunch of little bitty newsy bits,
including a clip of Marvel superheroes at the Macy's Thanksgiving parade.

And check out our message boards, full of wit and erudition. Joining them is
free, and you can win our weekly prize.

And we have blogs! You can read our stuff, respond to your reading thereof, and
do up your own. Which reminds me, mine hasn't been updated since August.

Thanks very much for coming to RevolutionSF. And now, turkey has claimed me! Oh,
sweet bird of oblivion!

Yes, it’s about 3 months late. Our fun and interesting DragonCon 2006 articles are online now, just in time for you all to reminisce about September, when it was slightly warmer (depending on where you live) and gas only cost 17 bucks a gallon (depending on where you live).

The other three Dragon*Con articles (including a top ten list and a photo gallery, complete with Funny Captions), are linked at the bottom of my feature story.

I think you’ll enjoy them voraciously. Commence to doing so at your leisure. Thank me later.

See subject line.

And you can go here to play.

http://www.revolutionsf.com/contests/index.html

And dad-gum it, there's a funny new RevolutionSF poll, too.

http://www.revolutionsf.com/polls/index.html

And dad-gum it some more, go back in time to 1978 for a look at a live-action
version of Marvel Comics' Dr. Strange.

http://www.revolutionsf.com/article.html?id=3261

And here are some recent witty and well-spell-checked posts on the RevSF message
boards.

First, on Islam vs. sci-fi:

And on the Firefly/Serenity MMORPG:

And that might hold you for awhile, Bessie.

The winners of our RevolutionSF Fiction section’s “Clarion Schmarion” contest are online.

Basically, the contest was to find sci-fi-ish stories that didn’t follow strict narrative structure, or any formal rules at all, like the kind set forth by speculative fiction writing workshops (like Clarion).

In other words, on the site now are three science fiction stories that we think are out of the ordinary and dad-gummed good reading. We think you’ll enjoy.
