Retrospection celebrates mid-20th century modern ceramic design and focuses on the details of American production dinnerware--its design, manufacture, and collecting. Although primarily interested in "good design", Retrospection is open for the discussion of all modern 20th century ceramics--from the kitsch to obscure studio pieces. Retrospection may peripherally concern itself with the non-ceramic designs of dinnerware and studio designers. Mid-century modern themes, fashion, and living are topics of frequent discussion. The history of tableware is another area of occassional focus.
The following is a short word list of potential discussion topics: Vincent Broomhall, John Frank, David Gil, John Gilkes, Erwin Kalla, Belle Kogan, Michael Lax, Charles Murphy, Viktor Don Schreckengost, Ben Seibel, Russel Wright, Eva Zeisel, Bauer, Bennington, Blue Ridge, Brayton Laguna, Brock, Canonsburg, Castleton China, Franciscan, Frankoma, Hall China, Harker, Heath, Hollydale, Homer Laughlin, Laurel of California, Iroquois, Metlox, Roseville, Steubenville, Tamac, Taylor Smith Taylor, Southern Potteries, Red Wing, Royal China, Salem China, Santa Anita, Shenango, Sterling China, Stetson China, Syracuse, Walker China, Wallace China, Winfield China, Vernon Kilns, W.
