Civil War Reenactors wanted in Hawaii. Do you enjoy American History, shooting black powder rifles, marching, camping, acting, educating others, or wearing uniforms? Then this is the hobby for you.

The War for Southern Independence will soon come to life on the island of Oahu. We are recruiting Yankees, Confederates, and civilian reenactors with little or no experience. Just a love for history is required.

These are our goals:
v To educate ourselves so that we are familiar with the events, activities, issues and everyday lifestyle of the Civil War period and with McGowan’s Brigade of Sharpshooters the Irish Brigade, and civilian impressions in particular.
v To recreate and experience everyday activities and events of the period.
v To share our experience and education with each other and the public.


Here is what we do:
v Members provide all of their own uniforms and equipment at their own expense. We muster (at least once a month, usually on the second Saturday of any given month) for encampments and battle reenactments at various sites throughout the island of Oahu.
v Take part in parades, educational presentations and public appearances.
