The RED SHED COMMUNITY GARDEN is a public garden in East Williamsburg located at 266 Skillman Ave. It is completely volunteer run and organized within the perimeters of NEW YORK CITY PARKS & REC and a parent organization called GREEN THUMB.

HISTORY OF THE RED SHED GARDEN
Several years ago a few people volunteered their time and energy to do all the fancy, time-consuming, meticulous, paperwork that requires finding a vacant lot and registering it with New York City to make a green space. It's pretty impressive since the vacant lot was strewn with trash, shattered glass, abandoned cars, and broken sewing machines. You get the picture. A lot of work went into getting The Red Shed Garden to where it is today. Ask other gardeners for stories.
